I wonder what would happen would i appear in a Ku Klux Klan Outfit at some event .. of course without a symbol but still recognisable. I am sure that would not went well, for a reason. OMG! Who in their right mind sells Ku Klux Klan outfits in SL? No, I really want to know. ...Dres *was planning on throwing a Post Legalized-Slavery Atrocities party, for which such an outfit would be absolutely perfect*

They have demos, ffs. Did it not even occur to you to try one before you blew your precious money on something so very horribly, horrendously regretful? Cut your losses, start shopping for a new, more appropriate skin and try on every demo available before you purchase anything. ...Dres

I want to thank you all for your generosity and your kind words of encouragement during his brief, but fierce fight with cancer. I would like to have a memorial service for him, sometime soon. R.I.P. Thanks Perrie, you do realize that there were no swastikas involved, right? ...Dres

Still, my advice is to post here rarely and spend your time inworld. Some great sims have gone, but some do remain, but..... oh my...so many empty places, these days, which you will probably notice. The saddest thing for me is travelling around mainland on occasion and seeing all the gaps, with the odd home or shop looking very old and dated dotted around the map. Most of the regulars with the highest number of posts fall into one of these situations: They are signed into both at the same time, myself included. I am mostly in SL, but take a break once in a while to look on the forums. Many others sign into the forums through their work ISP, but can't spend time in world while at work. Some are not at home and are using cell phones to be here, but can't use them for SL. And then, there are those who have grown disillusioned by their SL experience and have chosen to no longer partake or at least lesson their involvement in that particular avenue of entertainment... yet, still find it enjoyable to interact with those individuals who still roam these hollowed forum halls. *waves at Maddy* If this sort of activity sends you into such palpitations, I suggest you never visit SLU, for fear of full cardiac arrest. ...Dres

Welcome back, Rhonda, sweetie. When you ask what top 3 things you need to know, are you referring to things about SL or things about yourself? I doubt that I need inform you of which is more important. ...Dres

Roche Runo wrote: I look forward to seeing how other people would handle this situation I would have handled it quite similarly, with the exception that I wouldn't have ask what everyone else thought. Was his choice of costume meant to be provocative? I would think most definitely so. But, the fact remains that it was a fictional character and should have been taken as such. It's not as if he was actually espousing Nazi ideology... handing out propaganda and such. It would be like someone going to a Halloween costume party and getting offended because someone came dressed as Satan. I would suggest that the woman who was so very offended was actually the one in the wrong. Had she have simply blocked him, she would no longer have been able to see him... thus, alleviating herself of the offending imagery. Instead, she choose to try to force her will upon, not only another individual, but also the venue operator, as well as the rest of the event attendees. Alternatively, she could have just left the venue altogether from the get go, without all the unnecessary drama which intermediately ensued. Honestly, I think you're better off losing her as a patron. ...Dres

To use this world to practice in for example teach yourself to say "no" on the right places, and be better to tell your opinion to other people, when you want their help or when you want them to back off. Maybe the latter option will feel better in the long run, instead of just "run away" from things which seem difficult here and now. This is pretty much exactly what I was trying to say. Had I have known that you'd have posted it while I was writing my reply, I probably wouldn't have bothered... oh well. ...Dres
  15. Paulcasual wrote: should I start over? People have already given you some pretty good advice, so I'll just address this specific question... It will do you no good whatsoever to start over if you can't stop being so very, overly concerned about how other people perceive you. The wonderful thing about SL is the ability to present yourself as being whomever you choose. Once you start letting your fear of what others might think of you hinder that ability, that wonder will start to dissipate and you'll eventually find yourself wanting to start over again and again, in some vain attempt to reclaim it. There's no reason why you can't make the changes necessary to free yourself of such a hindrance using your present SL account. There's a great deal of benefit in facing ones own demons, rather than hoping to escape them by starting over. That being said, as long as you're mindful of those demons, starting fresh can also be a very, freeing experience. I wish you luck, independent of what you decide to do. ...Dres
