Thanks for your patience in answering. I see that you have moved on to look for places to test that are more representative of SL. Kudos on your viewer modifcation: if you can do testing in non-sandbox regions with plenty of objects with within view range, normal lag, etc. and your modification still shows improvement, then you should be able to interest the viewer development community in your suggested changes. In fact, I suggest you try to work with the Firestorm devs. Why not? P.S. I am a developer with 35+ years experience. I do not work on SL viewers, so sorry to say I cannot join your quest.

@Animats, have you thought about using air vehicles such has as helicopters? You should have the same challenges and no road is required.

Hmm.. So, you’re an optimist about it. Let me provide you an alternate view of how VR could some day win over AR: a lot of dystopian SF from the 70’s had VR themes because reality was just so very awful. VR provided an alternate which people could deal with. AR, on the other hand will always let the ugly present reality shine through in places.

“Modified Firestorm Viewer?” Not enough information to be helpful. Are there viewable objects on all four sims, or are they empty besides your track? Are you wearing a lot of scripted objects? Are you wearing a lot of attachments? How is your avatar complexity?

This seems part of the ancient tribal dance, known as the "Hokey Pokey". Perhaps you have to move your left foot out and in, etc. first?

Did you see in the linked post on "moving your own avatar" this bit of instruction? Instructions on how to move your OWN avatar: Bring up the Develop menu by pressing “ctrl-alt-Q” Enable: Develop > Avatar > Character Tests > Allow Select Avatar Press “ctrl 3” to bring up the edit box Right click on your avatar and move yourself around

Those of us who pay $195 (mainlaind) or $295 (private sim) tier fees more than make up for our cheapo rates. And why would a user pay "premium" if they weren't also going to pay tier?

Once it's all nice and cloudy, won't the "replacement cost" be absorbed by Amazon or the other hosting companies (and be built into tier/prices charged to LL)?

Oh, come now. At the rate technology is improving (CPU/frame rate/display) - and being forced down the throats of the masses - you don't think it will become usable during the next 5-10 years?

I suspect some will agree with you, and others will suggest the "suckage" (choppiness) is due to internet issues.

Forgot the gmail account or password? Depending on the device you used, you should still have the account..and when you set up your gmail, you should have used a "recovery" account also - such as another email provider, phone number, etc. It is not impossible to recover gmail accounts unless you forgot how you setup the recovery option.

I believe it is against Terms of Service to let anyone else use your account. If someone found out, they could have reported you and thereby gotten your account suspended. PLEASE file a ticket as we are suggesting - as a "guest" and reference the account that you cannot use. (If you use your new account, LL will not guess which account has the problem.) Don't assume you were actually banned. Hopefully LL will respond and have mercy on you (if it was due to TOS issue), or will "fix" your account (if it is just an account issue). Your *sobs* are quite dramatic! You should try writing fiction!

I wonder if you can define as a town - not just a beach - as "Nude OK, No sexual activity allowed" - like Real Life nude resorts, and get away with being "Moderate"?

Interesting definition of Moderate vs. Adult at that link: Is simple nudity without sex Adult? Depending on context, nudity may not require an Adult rating. For example all of the following could be rated Moderate: A nude beach without sexual activity. Skin vendors showing a nude skin to display the product. Nude art that is not sexual. Strip clubs that do not use adult words in search or host sex furniture. Depending on the context, exposed genitalia may not be considered Adult. For example: Hanging out at a nude beach would be fine. Walking around pants-less on the mainland could be inappropriate. Non-sexualized depictions of nudity are Moderate NOT Adult.
