Great advice everyone. One other way that I have made friends is by renting a few different places, and establishing roots. I have met some very interesting neighbors in these rental homes/apartments, everything from a one room 40L a week cottage, to a 350L week home and beach. All of my neighbors have been very friendly and a few have remained good friends even though I moved away from the home I was renting. If you can afford to get a place of your own this might be an excellent way to meet people.

Hello ToughCookie, Take a deep breath, breath out, relax and realize that SL is like everything else technologically today. Things change! First, decide if you want to update your classic avatar to a mesh one? If so, I would recommend reaching out to a few old friends who have switched to mesh, or hang out at a mesh body store and ask for help. Believe me, you are not alone in the difficulty for some of us who made the switch to mesh recently after having our classic avatar for so many years. Be prepared to spend some lindens on your body, hands, and feet. As for a mesh head, many of us stay with our classic avatar head and we look just fine with mesh everything else. One word of caution. Once you go mesh there is no going back. You will have to get rid of all of your non-mesh clothes, and buy new mesh clothes. It can be very painful throwing out clothes you use to enjoy wearing, and still look great on a classic avatar. Sadly, these non-mesh clothes mess up your mesh body and cannot be worn. Good luck, and enjoy the learning process.

I like how you manage this list Resi! Ironically, I just have the third group which is quite small that I can just proceed with conversation (almost like family members you like). I still think it is cool though that you keep a large list of extended friends which is a good way to remember people we meet in SL over the years.

Sorry for misinterpreting that statement. It got me to wondering, however, how many friends everyone has in SL?

Wow, kudos with 50 people on your friend list, since I have trouble remembering what I had for breakfast this morning! I have a much smaller total of 6 friends on my list after the last three years. Some people are just better at keeping track of a large group of friends. I do try and check in with these six people daily if I can, weekly for sure. Friends in SL are the same in RL, precious

Oddly enough my switch to mesh so far is running around 10,000 Lindens in the past 3 months. 5000 for the body, feet, etc and 5000 for mesh clothes. One strange aspect of switching to mesh is that I love going clothes shopping now because mesh clothes look so much better. I still am style challenged of course being a man but I am getting better at picking stuff that actually looks decent. Ugggg I may have become a clothes hound!

At least they LOOK guilty, I would say the punishment of eating a whole box of tums (yuck), and an entire tube of Neosporin (ick), should be enough, plus they are too way cute to be really mad at them!

Also Alyona I did a crazy thing and have a Bento Dante mesh body and kept my classic avatar Zeus head. What i have found is that I am not super huge macho while still retaining the more realistic hands and feet of mesh. It took awhile to get the right look (for me) but I like the new mesh clothes and shape of the bento body.

OMG do not omit the biggest law we would be evading if SL was real......tax evasion! Think of all the linden transactions that go untaxed by a real government. There would not be enough jails in SL real life to house all of the tax evaders:)
