  1. I have both the Type-360 (its a little Honda pick-up thing), and the super cute Type-1 (an Austin Healey Sprite). Not sure about the 360, but the Type-1 has a Group mode which will allow anyone in the same group to drive it. It also has an "Anyone" mode, which, as the name suggests, allows anyone to drive it To add to what Alyona said, Manji also have a mainland demo location in Hetrocera Atol, here: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Burns/115/70/30 I'd suggest trying the cars out there, because you can drive on the linden roads - that way you'll see how fantastic these cars are with region crossings.
  2. I have a few Bandit/TMS boats, and whilst certainly they are good quality and perform fine with region crossings- none of them come close to matching the old sculpt boat I have.. though I do think that it has more to do with the scripts than anything else. Regardless, I love that boat and don't want it taken away
  3. I would be an unhappy camper if LL broke sculpts. My best region-crossing boat is a sculptie - performance wise it's better than all the mesh boats I own. Not all mesh is awesome, plenty of it is badly made, and more importantly, badly textured.
  4. Emerson Lake is definitely missing something, thankfully it can be found in the next region... Palmer
  5. I wouldn't be surprised if the inland area has already been started - and it's actually those blank regions underneath the squishy pickle. Those "blocks" look like they'd slot into the interior quite snugly
  6. Just to add that any time you arrive somewhere new, your viewer needs to download all the relevant textures and objects and cache them. So to start with, things tend to be laggy until your viewer has the ability to pull everything direct from the cache. I drive, fly, and sail round Belli every day, and I get no lag at all, even with my very average internet connection. The fact that I travel round so much means my viewer doesn't need to be constantly downloading new textures all the time, so basically, get out there and get exploring
  7. NEWSFLASH!!! Snow storms hit Bellisseria! Wild snow storms have been moving round the continent, seeming to hit homes and campers at random. In some cases, heavy snow has almost buried campers and their surrounding yards, spilling out into the neighbourhood, whilst traditional homes owners seem to have fared better, the snow conveniently falling in a precise 32 x 32 metre square, miraculously missing the house altogether.
  8. The problem is, this isn't mainland where "anything goes", this is a Linden Home area with a covenant that residents are supposed to follow. The whole idea of a themed area is that nothing looks out of place, which this clearly does. If people want to make their home environment look totally different to everyone else around them, then Bellisseria is not the place for them to be - that's what mainland is for. I'd also like to point out that decoration is not the same as changing the overall environment. Whether people like it or not, seasons are fixed in SL, so the environment itself also becomes part of the theme.. that is in evidence in the way that the Moles have built these regions, and as residents who have agreed to the covenant, we all should be following it. The bigger issue is of course that once a handful people think they don't need to follow the rules, then soon enough most people will think the same, and before you know it the place will turn into mainland v2.0. At that point, LL will probably get so bogged down with AR's that they'll simply give up on the place - it wouldn't be the first time. Whilst I am probably sounding overly critical and pessimistic, I believe that Bellisseria is the best thing to have happened in SL in a very long time, so I would hate for all the work put in by the Lindens, Moles, and most residents, to amount to nothing due to a few individuals who have no consideration of others.
  9. Nice work Sina Question though, do you plan on doing the same thing for road rez zones? I'd be quite willing to help out and compile a list of landmarks for you if you needed them.
  10. i'm sorry, but in an area that's nothing but green surburbia, this doesn't look right 👎
  11. No that won't work. The region info isn't specified when you choose your home - its a lottery.
  12. Permaglow is the perfect region name considering it's the former site of the nuclear towers and there's 3-eyed fish in the lake So... we've had Smokey and Bandit regions, now Canyon Ball run? haha, love it.. that region also happens to be my favourite, so nice to see it named too
  13. Yeah I am guilty of spending probably at least 90 minutes every day driving through the camper regions on the dirt tracks, especially the new ones to the west of Belli - there's three tracks that head south between the mountains, and the views are amazing.
  14. The first roads in Belli do have some physics issue that makes most cars bounce to varying degrees. The only brands that don't are those using GEMC scripts - they have a "bad roads fix" setting which seems to make them run perfectly on any road. Having said that, at some point the Moles seem to have introduced a fix or update for the roads, because almost every road south of the Panamole canal is fine, and all the roads on the pickle island are good too Regarding the road "mesh" on the new continent / Belli extension, they certainly look like roads to me, remembering that most mesh doesn't appear on the world map in its correct shape. The holes in the middle could indicate that it's some kind of divided road, with a central hollow section that will end up filled with plants or trees. There are similar roads to this already in-word, in Corsica and maybe Sansara.
  15. Doodah is part of the north-eastern camper area, south of the mountains. Those regions have been finished for a while, and they are really nice
  16. no, they cant provide more prims - not if you want the same level of wonderful landscaping all these regions have. Double-prim land is available on mainland, usually for ridiculous prices, but of course you are responsible for all the landscaping yourself. The only way to possibly get more prims is if they have less homes per region - this might become a reality later if LL introduce a new level of premium with higher cost and high tier allowance as standard, but nothing has been officially mentioned so far. Remember too that only a few years ago, LL increased the prim limit by 50% - try living in a camper with only 117 prims to use rather than 175
  17. Ah ok, that clears it up. I thought you were referring to the 2-region channel south of Belliseria. That channel will definitely be filled by the Belli extension as I previously mentioned. You can see it in the test continent already, here: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/SSP605/95/115/23
  18. Yeah I've been driving round the new camper areas every day now for the past few weeks There are 3 dirt tracks through the mountains in SSPE147 and 148 , and although this area isn't 100% finished, those regions are the most amazing I have ever seen, and I am seriously tempted to make an alt to grab one. I'd like to set up a little country gas station there, those areas would be perfect for it.
  19. That Linden Sea you refer to is only temporary, which is why they are just empty regions. The second continent (or Bellisseria extension) will be going in that area and filling the space between Belli and Jeogeot. If you take a look on the map at the bottom of the SSP continent, you'll see the new bare regions already placed.
  20. This is a very good point, and actually something that Abnor (I think) mentioned in these forums months ago. These little community areas aren't specifically designed to be used - they are actually just another tool to make each region unique and avoid the cookie-cutter formula of the old LL homes. When you factor in residents in-world availability and time-zones, the reality is that there's probably more hang-out places than could possibly be used, but that's fine, as each of these places is just another little gem to stumble upon as you explore the continent
  21. 4 pages over a nude picture.. sheesh! But oh well, I will wade in too... You REALLY need to be making a conscious decision to pry in order to actually see anything inside the traditional homes. Even wandering past one on the road in 3rd person view, you don't see much at all. Basically you need to stop in front of a window and deliberately zoom inside, at which point, it's your own fault if you don't like what you see It surprises me that people often think that our "vision" (for want of a better description) in SL is as good as it is in RL. It isn't - and very little of what's inside our homes is easily visible unless you've got your nose pressed against the window More so if like me you're driving, sailing, or flying round - I can fly over someone's parcel and there could be some wild naked party happening - I have no chance of seeing it from the cockpit ✈️
  22. My whole SL experience with windlights is really just based on what I am doing. If I am inside my house, or basically whenever looking at people is important, then like you I stick to good old Nam's Optimal Skin and Prim. I explore Belli a lot though, and that's when I change things up. For travelling round, I generally just select the "Use Region Default" setting, then, importantly, under Day Cycle I select "Default". This ensures that as I roam around the continent, the day-cycle remains consistent, with all regions following the normal SL day-night cycle, so I get to see sunrises and sunsets - regardless of whether I'm out on the water or driving on the roads. Sunsets look rather spectacular too in the trailer regions - with the sun coming through the trees On the rare occasion I take nice photos, then I will often simply choose a windlight to give me the effect I am looking for - including water too, as the lakes in the trailer regions look nice with a still water setting like Nacons Lake Water etc
  23. I think it's obvious that the 2-region wide channel heading south was only ever going to be a temporary solution until more continents came online. There was mention of needing at least 38,000 new homes to cover all currently occupied old style linden homes, which translates into several continents. No doubt the final position of Belliserria was chose specifically to enable at least one more continent to be wedged in between Belli itself and Jeogeot. The current channel heading south, whilst convenient, is frankly, horrendously boring, and i'm willing to bet that most people who enjoy sailing (and flying too) would much rather travel along the coast of another gorgeous continent rather that gawk at endless sea The new continent will not only be a great place to explore (like Bellisseria is), it will provide thousands more new-style homes to premium members - and frankly that's more important.
  24. Yes. LL will continue to make more continents until they have a home available for all premium members. A figure somewhere was quoted of around 38,000 homes needed. Linden homes have always been assigned at random. It's the only fair way, otherwise you'd have many people after the exact same parcel - then how do you determine who has claim to it? You aren't buying land though. You're buying a premium membership, and one of the included benefits (amongst many) of that membership is that you can use your tier on a Linden Home - it's totally different from purchasing land yourself. If you want complete freedom of choice, use your free tier to purchase land on the mainland - there's plenty of it around
