I am the same way. I tend to panic in RL if someone invades my personal space and it translates into SL as well. If I am in a very crowded club or event, I have to use show friends only otherwise I will experience a full blown panic attack in RL, and if just one person that I don't know gets super close to my avie, it's the same way. I have to either move away or TP out. It's not fun at all.

Wow! You guys are really smart and I'm kinda jelly LOL. For me, I used to own my own business, a co-op for small business owners and was on the board for habitat For Humanity. I also framed houses and did electrical work for HFH. Now, I'm retired because of health issues. I am still on the board for HFH but can no longer frame and do electrical work, which I totally loved. Made some good investments and made a profit when I sold my business, so I'm doing pretty good.

I absolutely agree! Text speak makes my teeth hurt. Hell, I don't even text speak when I am actually texting. In my opinion it's lazy and I cannot stand lazy people.

I NEVER open up to anyone in SL anymore because of things that happened to me in the past. I have been emotionally abused, verbally abused and yes while you can say "this is JUST SL, mute, block and move on" BUT, it's hard when you have invested your heart in a relationship only to have it stomped on. This is why I NEVER open up for a VERY VERY long time. Laugh if you want, roll your eyes if you want, but this is MY SL and if you can't deal with me not opening up about every little thing in my life, then move on. I don't need people like that in my RL and I especially don't need them in my SL.

Then I am in the 10% that doesn't have an alt. It's hard enough controlling this one as it is. LOL

I have everything that I wanted as a teenager, only 60 years later. I don't have to go to school or work. I get an allowance every month. I have my own pad. I don't have a curfew. I have a driver's license and my own car. The people I hang around with are not scared of getting pregnant and I don't have acne. Life is great. I changed my car horn to gunshot sounds. People get out of the way much faster now. Gone are the days when girls used to cook like their mothers. Now they drink like their fathers. I didn't make it to the gym today. That makes five years in a row. I decided to stop calling the bathroom "John" and renamed it the "Jim". I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning. Old age is coming at a really bad time. When I was a child I thought "nap time" was a punishment. Now it feels like a small vacation. The biggest lie I tell myself is... " I don't have to write that down, I'll remember it". I don't have gray hair... I have "wisdom highlights"! I'm just very wise. If God wanted me to touch my toes, He would've put them on my knees. Last year I joined a support group for procrastinators. We haven't met yet. Why do I have to press one for English when you're just going to transfer me to someone I can't understand anyway? Of course, I talk to myself. Sometimes I need expert advice. At my age "Getting Lucky" means walking into a room and remembering what I came In there for. I have more friends I should send this to, but right now I can't remember their names. Now, I'm wondering... did I send this to you, or did you send it to me? (I'm not 60 but I can still relate to this, LOL)

A red flag, I suppose I understand why, maybe because the person is a gold digger, and that could be true, for myself, the no PIOF is a red flag, because it could mean they were an alt and trying to stir up crap. I didn't use to be this cynical but the longer I'm in SL the more I just simply don't trust a lot of people, having been burned so many times.

Yes it is, it sounds shallow, but when I was single, and someone would IM me, I always checked to see if they have PIOF, especially if their avie is full mesh, if they don't have that, I automatically think they are an alt, they may or not be but Ayeleeon has already said he is an alt. That could be a reason he gets no responses, sometimes woman are just suspicious. Oh! And on topic, I never received a lot of attention one way or the other, sometimes it just felt like I was invisible....(like here on the forums sometimes....)

Thank you! I totally agree about how everyone looks so different and I've not seen one picture on here that I haven't liked. The diversity is really great. I never thought I'd stop using my genus head but I'm wearing this one for at least a while to see if it grows on me, like genus did. It's wildly different, but I like it
