  1. I don't what people have against noobs. I love them. They're so naive and trusting...and eventually wind up chained to a hook in my playroom. :matte-motes-sunglasses-3: Seriously, some people think noobs just don't know what they're doing. And many clubs won't hire anyone who's under 30 or 60 days old (like they know any better than someone who's been on for a week) Just go out, explore, meet people, make friends and don't worry about that idiot.
  2. Princess Gata wrote: Am quite aware that TOS frowns quite seriously on people copying instant messages. However it can be the case that the person messaging you is bullying, blackmailing, abusing and spreading hate. Can the same rules of not copying apply? I challenge that in certain circumstances people need the right to copy im discussins into notecards and also share them if something is of a serious concern. I wonder whether that is still against TOS. It's against the ToS, as far as I know, to take those notecards or conversations and plaster them all over forums or the feed or as group IMs inworld. You can however copy those conversations and send them to LL (which is what you would need to do in order to resolve the bullying etc.) Unfortunately, the ToS is set up to protect everyone..including those engaged in the asinine tactics that you mentioned above.
  3. Hello forum dwellers....I've missed you all!! And I've got a bit of catching up to do: Only the best people get to Maddy's cleansing fires (that's me, seventh row-last one..took a while to get enough sins to be cleansed in her fires..Ooo, that sounds dirty). And it's only temporary..secretly, I think it fuels your sins. I've been a whole lot worse since going through there...perhaps I need a refresher (but that's $1500L plus tax) Hey..we should use that picture to play "forum bingo"... "Oh..Dres replied to this post... *puts a chip on his picture* First person to get bingo gets to go back in the fires or tests out those "escorts" Dres is sending up from Zindra. Cher: I know you came in here with the best intentions, but you're not going to get much help here. I might suggest that you get your "orders" and go out and find those who believe need your help...whether they accept it or not is up to them, I suppose. As for me, I get to do all my atonement next week on Yom Kippur. Wish me luck, I'm probably gonna need it.

I can participate in conversations while sitting on my RL roof, waiting for my arm to regain strength after 10 minutes of brushing on new paint, or while waiting in my friend's little room at the care center for her to awake from a drug induced stupor as she, in turn, waits for a new liver. When I do get in-world, I stand on the ottoman in front of my fireplace and IM friends to distract them from whatever they might be doing so they can shower me with attention. ;-). And burn away their sins in your fireplace https://www.flickr.com/photos/58030004@N06/sets/72157626488154798/with/10175499625/ (Edited to add the entire album, not just my photo) :matte-motes-sunglasses-3:
  5. Charli Infinity wrote: How do you spend your time in SL? Poorly :matte-motes-sunglasses-3: Not looking for you to tell me what I can do or should do in SL. Just wondering what other people outside my circle do in SL.. My SL life is pretty boring. Most times, when I come on, I try to catch up with friends and "family" so see how they're all doing. I do spend most of my time at home. I actually enjoy just sitting on my couch, chatting and watching the mermaid in my aquarium. If my wife comes on, she hangs out with me or maybe we'll go someplace (dancing or a beach). Otherwise, I might just pop over to a couple of BDSM sims and see what's happening there. Hope that answers your questions.

  8. hollyparadise wrote: Ok, so I was hanging out in one of the adult areas and this guy offered to just give me $4,000L because he said he liked me. I said sure, and he sent me a tp link. The link didn't have any recognizable place name, it looked like a person's last name. My Spidey sense started to tingle, and I told him I had some RL stuff to do and logged off. Could this have been some sort of a scam? Could he have hacked into my account or into my computer or something? Goes along with the old saying...."If something seems too good to be true, it probably is" Why would this guy give you $4000L? And why would you have to click on a link to get it?? Good move logging off.
  9. Flamedramon wrote: Or does it make the forums go haywire? Getting back to the original question and as people have told you, you are unable to bulk erase your forum posts or delete your forum account. You can, if you wish, go in and delete individual posts. If you feel so strongly about not having your posts here, you can go through a delete each and every one of them..thus erasing your existance in the forums. As for silly things like capitalization of your user name, as you also know (and I'm sure you don't need to be told this) change your display name inworld. Residents tend to look at that more than your user name anyway. Good luck.

  12. Pamela Galli wrote: Why not have a friend designated to log in on your account if you get hit by a bus? I actually had that for a while. A friend of mine, inworld who was also a friend on social media, had my password so that she could inform people if something were to happen to me and to allow her to have access to my vast sums of lindens :matte-motes-sunglasses-3: I had changed my password when we had problems and haven't told her since then. LL does have something in place where you can transfer your account information to someone else in the event of death, but it seems like a whole lot of work. http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Linden_Lab_Official:Death_and_other_worries_outside_Second_Life ETA: Perrie beat me to it....:matte-motes-sunglasses-3:
  13. I might suggest a few things..although, I can't guarentee they'll do any good...:matte-motes-sunglasses-3: First...go into your worn items and try to remove everything. There might be something on your person that's causing the AO to keep working like that. Take off everything you can one at a time and see if that helps. Second...I have something that will stop all animations.Check on the Marketplace. Mine is called "Red Rose - stop all animations". (I did check the MP and found three free items that might help you.) https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/MAGIC-WAND-Stops-Animations/3475671 https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/Stop-Animations/97353 https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/Stop-animations-Undeformer/3517231 What you do it wear them and they should stop any animations that you have going on inworld. If it doesn't work, I have one that I can pass you. Send me an IM. Again, I can not guarentee that this is going to work but it's another suggestion and they're free so it doesn't cost you anything. Good luck.

For a while, he was doing an "Eat your way across the grid" photo series. It was a time ago, so you might have to go through a bunch of stuff to find it, but it's another option.
  16. Sounds to me like the beginning of a really great 1940's detective story..... The rain fell heavy on the roof on the mid August evening as I sat in my dumpy office. The water dripped through holes in the ceiling, watering my plants, before dropping harmlessly into a bucket on the floor. Cigar smoke wafted into the air, catching the fan before being propelled back into my face. *coughs* I heard the knock on my glass door. It was a dainty knock...a dame, obviously.... "Come on in", I coughed through the haze in my office. The door squeaked open...pushing the smoke out the open window. It was a dame...and what a dame she was...... "Mister Monday...I...I need your help" she cried as she sat slowly down in the chair. Her long blond hair swirled around her head as she moved. She straightened her red dress as she began to speak. I took another puff of my cigar and looked out at her.... "What can I do for you, Miss.....??" "Piers...Suzanne Piers." She took an envelope and tossed it out on her desk. "I'm...being blackmailed".... :matte-motes-sunglasses-3:

That...and we haven't seen hide nor hare of a Linden in at least 50 pages. We should all just give up on this and wait to see what happens with the new policy. The Lindens were great for a while, answering questions and all that...but when they realized that there were SO MANY questions, they ducked into the nearest broom closet and disappeared. Let's end this already.....PLEASE

  19. maybe these will help... http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Guide_to_Jobs_in_Second_Life http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Getting_Linden_Dollars_FAQ I'm going to say that it can be difficult to earn money in SL. Most people who make money from non-adult activities do so by making their own clothes, building products to sell (either in an inworld store or the marketplace) doing photography and sometimes modeling. I tried an experiment a little over a year ago. I created a new AV with the intention of trying to earn money through non-adult means (I had an old AV who was a dancer and I really hated that). Needless to say after about a week (in which from money trees I earned a whole $10L..which was enough to put up a profile picture) I gave up and went back to more adult activites. The jobs out there that pay well are very difficult to find. Your best bet may be just to buy Lindens. It'll save you the aggrevation of trying to earn money. Good luck.

"fidn it really funny to put a group teleport on some one who like 10,000 ft up on other end of a sim and then get the telport on like 3 or more of my friends" You're changing your story just a wee bit....let's get our facts straight, shall we?

  22. There is something going around. I was hacked (phished) a few weeks ago; nothing stolen but they sent spam messages to at least 4 of my groups. I didn't know about it until a few people mentioned it and I was banned in one of my groups. No $L stolen or missing inventory. LL actually locked my account before I could get back in again. My thread on the whole affair: http://community.secondlife.com/t5/General-Discussion-Forum/Account-Hacked/m-p/2778682#M188922 I do agree with changing your password and that account and on all your ALTS as well.
  23. Careful or you guys will be on Double Secret Probation for the remainder of the semester
  24. I've actually stopped reading most of what's being written as it's getting complicated for me; I don't have a gaming place now and do not plan to...and I hate to knit pick...but you did miss one other thing: User: Must be over 19 AND Can legally agree to the policy AND live somewhere where skill gaming is legal AND accessing the skill gaming from somewhere where skill gaming is legal AND are legally old enough to participate in Skill Gaming where they live. If any of the above can not be met, then you can not play Skill Games Legally (AAN Operators require ALL to be met) AND......"In order to enter a Skill Gaming Region, you must establish and maintain a Second Life account with accurate, current and complete information about yourself, including a valid payment method" Let's not forget about that...and THAT is what's going to be keeping me out of all the new gaming sims.
  25. I can not argue with your point, Syo. A true therapist is not a person who's shoulder you can cry on. But I disagree that it could not be offered in SL. Just as people who are attorneys, professors or medical professionals play SL..why couldn't someone who has the qualifications (legitimately) be playing as well? And why couldn't they set up a vitrual office in SL for their services? Seems like a possibility to me... again..just my two cents and I do wish the OP the best in their search.
