As for special character in your display name, let me explain something that doesn't seem to come up. Many of the special characters people use are really graphemes (letters or characters) in a real language. You know that cute smiley face everyone uses? ツ? That's a Japanese grapheme. Whenever I see that in names or gestures, I think people are sneezing. It can also mean that you are angry and upset.
