Sick to the Stomach

I use to have no problem with the whole AFK sex places.  Now, I'm may be totally against it.  Bored, just started wondering around, went to an AFK place just adventuring around.  Then I see a child avatar having sex with an AFK avatar.  My stomach just turned over with discuss.  I don't know if I am right on this or not.  I IM'ed the child avatar and told him that this was against TOS and someone could or would report him for doing acts like this.  I got the "F Off" from him and then he TPed out.

I don't know the whole ruling on this, but most of these AFK places are un-monitored by anyone.  Maybe it should be something LL may need to look into also with child avatar going to these places.  But the whole thing just made me sick to my stomach.

Pretty sure there was a case on the forums a year or so ago where someone was banned because their AFK avi was "griefed" in this way by a child avi who took pictures and AR'd their throwaway account and the AFK avi.  It took a long process for her to prove her case to LL and get her account reinstated.  The post about it will give better details than my recall and will be around the forums somewhere if you wanted to dig for it.

if it's so bothering, why on earth you go there. Contacting people who break TOS is never wise.
If you encounter breaches of TOS in the wild while just going around, report it... nothing more.
Stay away from places where you nearly for sure meet such situations.

I'd AR the child and quote the specific part of the TOS (which i need more coffee to recall) that mentins child avi's in the vicinity of adult content.  It's on the child avi if they deliberately visit an adult location and use adult furniture.

Even with my previous post.  Yeah... This makes two post that has encounter something with child avatars.  The first one was someone just trying to grief me over made BS at a store, just because he is or was a stalker fan and jealous.  Then this happen.  And wonder why I just stay on my land, build studios and produce adult videos.  I wonder away from the land and I see way too much messed up things with people here.

Being against AFK places because you saw a child avatar in one is pretty dumb, I think. A person with a child avatar is capable of going to ANY sex-spot. By your logic we should shut down everything explicit.

Yes, the child avi should always be reported if you're going to, no exceptions. The non-child (if any) could arguably have some exceptions such as this case.

I don't think quoting the TOS in an abuse report is very useful though... The people checking the report should know it like the back of their hand already, or at least well enough to know that age-play is a no-go.

Instead, make sure the screenshot shows the act clearly. Maybe give some context like that it's an AFK place.

I think it's more likely that they just enjoy it and don't expect others to notice/care. Especially if the reaction we were told about is accurate.

It's already against the rules for child avatars to take part in sexual content and most adult regions have strict rules about it... but they can't be there all the time to make sure no child avatar enters and gets near (or takes part in) sexual content. In other words, this is a time when you might want to let the region owner know what happened as well as ARing it. They can't take action on something they didn't know happened.

This is another good reason not to participate in AFK sex.

Kayla's going to have a hard time getting "people that own AFK place(s)...to be more responsible..."  Both the owners of the place, and the AFK, um, escorts are doing this precisely because it does NOT require active participation.  The only people who are actively participating are the customers.

I would not have even bothered to engage in conversation with the offending avatar. They know exactly what they are doing, and getting a reaction from you just feeds them. I would have just submitted an abuse report with screenshot included, let Linden Lab take necessary action.

Nope.  I'm not here to poke at individuals.  I'm merely observing that policing an AFK sex establishment requires live, personal attention...which is exactly what AFK sex places are doing their best to eliminate.  All that emoting, all that responding; it's so tiresome and a waste of one's time, what?
