  1. As a ten day old noob, you should be out getting money from money trees. BUY some Lindens first, the minimum amount possible which is $5 worth I believe. This will get you recorded as having used your payment info and access to more money trees. Also make sure you are adult verified. Then go to this list of trees http://moneytree.wolfhavenproductions.com/wmt/masterlist.php and make some Lindens. Once you are more than 30 days old, your access to many money trees will be cut off, so use your time as a noob wisely.
  2. Why are you cashing out for $2.60? That's not enough to make the transaction worthwhile. There are fees added, one of which is a $1.00 Paypal withdrawal fee. My reccomendation is to wait until you have thirty or forty times that amount in L$ to cash out.
  3. I do have some experience with LSL scripting, but I have never used that function. From the description, it appears that the avatar wearing the clothing item must grant permission for the other avatar to detach it. That's close to what I want to do, but it would remove some spontaneity in role play. In the marketplace, there is this item: Cyn-h black pistache Undress silk bellydance papillon I would link to it, but I am unsure of the maturity rating. It looks pretty hot. According to the description, others "can click on your dress and undress one of those pieces if you allow them."
  4. Are the autobots running again? As of yesterday, they were still gone from the grid. However, I did try a new service yesterday called Heterocera Tours by Yavascript. You can catch one of the tour pods at Tuliptree Station. The one I was on headed up Route 1. Not a bad tour, but I think it needs more stops. Also at Tuliptree Station, you can catch a ferry to Bhaga Station. It's not well marked. Head past the picnic tables over towards the water and you should see the ferry landing. I believe there is a sign there with a green triangle that tracks the location of the ferry. The markings are even worse at Bhaga. No sign at all. If you want to find it, head down the stairs at the station behind the digital clock. BTW, the autobots actually belonged to AnnMarie O'toole. It's a common mistake, one that I've made as well.
  5. What's the best way to make clothing removable by another without having to use a collar or RLV? Is it possible to insert a script into an article of clothing that will cause the clothing to go phantom and transparent when clicked by another? That would be almost as good as removable, but it would probably be better if the clothing actually detached when clicked.
  6. For uniform bouncing, you need a more well endowed avatar. Momentum is proportional to mass and velocity, so increase the mass. That should make the uniform appear to bounce more.
  7. I suggest doing something of an adult nature with your friend. That usually cheers me up. If he's really depressed, invite a friend too. A girl has gotta do what a girl has gotta do for her bff. Regarding the suspension, why doesn't your friend just create an alt and login?
  8. That looks like fun and a little scary! That one girl looks like she is about to flip upside down.
  9. If there is a leak at LL's end, other residents should be getting spammed too. I also use the same system that you do and create a different email address for each site. It's pretty easy to tell who's leaking your info that way. As of yet, I haven't seen any spam from my LL email addresses.
  10. Yes. Do shift control 1 (hold all three keys down at once for a brief moment). That will display some lag stats. First, look at time dialation. Ideally, it should be 1.00 as in no time dialation. Readings around 0.98 to 0.99 are pretty good though. Then look at the number of objects and scripts in the sim. I like to see the number of scripts under 4,000 and less than 9,000 objects. I would probably pass on a parcel in a region with more than 4,000 scripts running. Edit: here are the current stats for the region where my parcel is located:
  11. Maybe it is because there is a script that can be dropped into a modify item that will clone the item so that others are then able to copy it and sell it as their own.
  12. Cio Koba wrote: How does the group buying goes? I made a group long time ago, is that enough? If the group is still active, yes. Edit groups and see if you can activate it. If not you can form another group. You just have to pay 100L to form the new group. Once you have your group ready, go premium, and contribute your 512 sqm of tier to the group. Then find a parcel you like, activate your group and click the button that says buy for group under "About Land".
  13. You look like a vampire. Why don't you join Bloodlines? There are many hungry vampires who would be thrilled to bite you. Thereafter you are a member of a clan of which one of the purported advantages is a built-in community of friends and associates. Don't just let anyone bite you. Until you are bitten you have all the power. Choose your clan carefully.
  14. Why don't you join NCI? Banter a bit with the other residents in group chat and take a class or two and pretty soon you'll have more than enough friends. NCI: http://world.secondlife.com/group/25e187d1-3e88-b05c-9d2d-2dceeb9d4bc also join NCI spam: http://world.secondlife.com/group/e8a029bf-a974-e521-9437-6cd72bf96bad
  15. Maryanne Solo wrote: What an amazing prospect. I originally detested the thought of even looking at twitter, but now I thoroughly enjoy it and it more or less goes hand in hand with SL for me. (and many many others). A single tweet can arrange a gathering in minutes.... Could you provide a practical example of how Twitter might be used frequently by a resident in SL? I never had much use for Twitter.
  16. Get yourself a copy of the Shelly Fizz or the bwind. Both are sailboats, easy to use, free, and a lot of fun. You can get a copy of the Shelly Fizz at ANWR. Catch the ferry in Purple by the GSLR station, and depart the ferry at ANWR and go up to the top to get a copy of the Shelly Fizz. I sent you a copy through the markeplace of a sailboat I made using the bwind engine. For a good area to sail, head out to the Barbarossa Info Hub. Just search for infohub and look for ferry terminal. It will show up near the top of the search results. One of the docks on the island is a rezz zone. Rezz your boat there and sail around the islands. A word of warning. Fix your viewer in advance so that you do not get the region change different simulator version popup. You will be changing regions a lot. I recommend using the Phoenix viewer. Sailing is pretty fun in SL. My main complaint is that the scenerey does not change a lot over the water, the way it does with travel by rail or road.
  17. I usually wear BlakOpal by TriloByte Zanzibar.
  18. It's big enough for me. Get yourself a vendor and put in a shop at ground level and build a megaprim skybox up above cloud level for residential use and developmental building. If you need a few more prims, form a group and get 560 sqm for the same tier as 512 sqm. Edit: You could get this skybox for 50L by LoLeSk Ulich, which includes the furniture and requires only 100 prims total. That would leave you with 17 prims leftover to play with on a 512 sqm parcel.
  19. This would be a more interesting thread if it was for people seeking swingers.
  20. OK, try this and put it in the fish: //Rotates very slowly around a sphere's local X axis .... Good for making a globe that rotates around a tilted axis default{ state_entry() { llTargetOmega(<1.0,0.0,0.0>*llGetRot(),0.1,0.01); }} ps: That's from an example script at http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/LlTargetOmega
  21. Your idea is interesting. Make it into something of a quest for new residents. Noobs get one Linden dollar for each station that they stop and check into. If they stop and check in at all the stations, they get a bonus of 10L. Could be fun.

  23. I asked in NCI group chat if anyone else had noted the absence of the cars. Someone jokingly replied that the cars had been raptured. It reminds me of the story by Robert Sheckley concerning Armageddon. It is the last battle between humans and the forces of Satan. Military leaders decide that robot armies are the best option, ignoring the advice of religious leaders who claim that this is a battle that humans must fight. Good prevails over evil, but the robots ascend to heaven and leave the humans behind. ps: Maybe mainland without the cars is heaven, so perhaps the avatars were raptured.
  24. The cars seem to have disappeared on the atoll, at least for today.
  25. Log Out has been shortened to just log. Example: "U gonna go to the party?" "Too tired, gonna log."
