  1. Sadly there are a lot of merchants who have called it a day with their active Second Life but leave their merchandise on the marketplace anyway.(To collect their revenuers twice a year or so). Than there are the merchants who sell with one of their alts who is never online other than to make listings out of a product. Those are very hard to reach for customer service and support. On the other hand there are those customers too, who think that every merchant should be online 24/7. That isn't realistic either of course. Most merchants are hobbyists. A few days of response time, should be accepted by every customer IMHO.
  2. hot shot That is one word isn't it? Shot Caller (the movie)
  3. A ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ rating costs a crafty merchant the sales commission for the product and a friend who is willing to write a positive 5 star review. 1. give the friend the ammount of L$ needed for the product purchase. 2. the friend buys the item and writes the review 3. The merchant gets the money back from the sale (minus the commission from the Lab) 4. Rinse and repeat with another friend or another product. So for the price of 1 item one can create 10 top reviews. That is cheap advertising. Reviews are worthless IMHO. Buy demos whenever you can and take your time to inspect them.
  4. The make us laugh section is elsewhere on the forums.
  5. Name one thing in SL that is not somehow gamed. Reviews are easily gamed too. Demo's are your best friend.
  6. Peeve, the night is falling here and will hold on until around 6 tomorrow morning and we don't even have an eclipse.
  7. Consider it as a compliment, that someone else wants to be you and feel happy about this is happening. Walk around cheerful and tell your friends: "Look someone likes my appearance so much, they made a copy of my avatar, cool or what?" And then case closed and on to new adventures.
  8. Yup, I think I misunderstood your initial post. L$ are game tokens already. Not regulated by a government. Worthless for the outside, but certainly not inside SL.
  9. Have you tried reporting it all to Linden Lab? That should be step one. And reporting it to the Lab is something different than discussing it here. Bringing it up here, has no official status at all.
  10. The two alts I have, have totally no extra inventory other than one outfit. One is a gnome and the other a minion. They both have a very specific task and are never used to participate any further in SL. They only show up on my working platform if needed.
  11. Sid Nagy started as an alt too. The original main account was closed together with a bunch of further never developed alts last year. No use to have a museum of unused accounts IMHO.
  12. I have 2 alts. One is my bank account. No further details here. Other than that she is so on the money that it is hard to get money back from her. The other one is Sid (Resident) he is almost never online, but he posts on virtualverse.one I like to keep my Second Life simple. * about the BONUS: Second Life is your life, your imagination. So being friends with your alts is all good as long as you like it yourself.
  13. Each extra Belli region that is needed needs planning and decorating. I have no clue how many new Belli regions it would take to smoke everybody out of their L1 homes peacefully. Maybe the Lab is simply waiting until enough empty Belli homes are available for the big move.
  14. The labor costs involved to change things (planning, redecorating etc), could easily be more expensive for the Lab than just keep the current situation continuing.
  15. There are still no leaks from the roofs or rotting electricity cables reported, so the old Linden Homes can still be rented out as they are, I guess.
  16. Might .... means it is possilbe but not certain, right? Nuff said.
  17. Of course the L$ is regulated. That's why LL needs L$ sinks (MP fees) and a supply Linden that can pop in with L$ if needed. It is not for nothing that L$ are solid as a rock and almost never fluctuate much in value. It is people selling to people who want to buy (so LL is never forced in a position to buy back their (for them worthless) L$) and the Lab regulating.
  18. Don't forget to install a new version of FS first. The problems with the 2 years old version will remain for sure if nothing has changed hardware wise.
  19. Around that time one had to buy an estate parcel too for good money upfront due to land shortage, that collapsed when the new regions delivery was automated.
  20. As always it is hard to get the news spread among everybody in SL. Some read the forums, most don't, some are subscribed to the news letters, others not, some read the blog posts, most don't even know about them. But the news will spread from mouth to mouth over the next weeks I guess. I found out that adding the picture takes about 50 minutes for 100 listings if one works concentrated. Thankfully I'm only a small potato merchant, but the ones with a gazillion listings in home and garden, furniture and decorations will have to spend hours and hours. But, if I were one of them big boys and girls, I would likely only alter the shop banner with a text and call it a day.
  21. The math: ... + hehehe + \o/ = Ceka Easy peasy piece of cake.
  22. I think I just saw a lion in sheep's clothing passing by.
