  1. I was having severe local chat lag, so I decided to relog and clear cache. After logging back in, and very patiently waiting for my inventory to fully load, my avatar was still a cloud. So I went to the "worn" tab, and at first it's displaying nothing except the Firestorm Bridge attachment. No hair layer, eyes, shape, skins, not even the ruth hair fix. But all of a sudden it would attach a huge list of completely random items in the inventory (not part of previous outfits, most of these I never even worn before). So I manually detach everything, then attach one item at a item from the de-ruth kit (replace outfit would freeze the client, reason will be explained in a bit). Every time I attach an item from the ruth kit, a few dozen more random items would attach themselves. This is why I can't use "replace outfit", because it would freeze the client (about 200 items attaching themselves at same time). Btw this happens for ANY item I try to attach in the inventory, not just the de-ruth kit. Using latest Firestorm. Does anyone know how to fix this?
  2. I'm looking for this rigged mesh hair: http://i.imgur.com/Z2rBv.jpg Ty.
  3. There is something called a DEMO. Almost all mesh have different sizes. If it doesn't fit, try a different size? If no size fits, it means something's wrong with your shape. No creator is going to spend the time rigging to avatars with ridiculous sizes like size 100 boobs or size 100 butt. Does a RL clothing store cater to people with "special" figures? No, you have to go get it custom made. If it has no demo, maybe don't trust and buy it next time? Please enlighten me on any other modern 3D game, sim (including Sims), that does NOT use rigged mesh. Crap like minecraft excluded since that is not modern nor is it true 3D. All mesh are ugly? Apparently you haven't been to any quality shops then judging from the poor quality of the boots you bought. I think all clothing layer stuff except a few latex outfits are ugly since I'm pretty sure a sweater is not supposed to have the same thickness as skin painting. *whistles* Mesh is pretty much the only right direction that LL made since the 5 years I've been on SL, in addition to the features it copied over from 3rd party viewers like stacked attach points. Cloth layer has much more shape-wise customization, but looks terrible. Mesh has less customization but will improve over time as LL accepts more 3D file formats, and looks so much more realistic. /rant
  4. Does anyone else think that marketplace could use a PROPER filter, one that makes the shopping experience a slightly less painful experience? One that could filter multiple categories at a time, unlike the current one that can only filter one thing at a time? For instance, what if I want to search for women's boots AND jewelry? How about if I want to search for everything on the marketplace EXCEPT for stuff from a certain shop as well as all demos? Simple checkbox system as well as a keyword box for exclusions is all we need to add inclusions and exclusions. Example, type "demo, Jane's shoes" in the exclusion box, then check categories "women's footwear" and "jewelry" if I want to search for everything in those categories but excluding any demos or anything from "Jane's shoes". Btw I think demos should have its own separate category in the marketplace, especially since even something like "contraband" has its own category. O_o /rant, despite knowing this will never be implemented.
  5. It means someone flagged your product since it was in the wrong category. Yes marketplace categories are absolutely terrible and most people have a hard time figuring out what goes into what category. Stuff like your lab can go into multiple categories, but apparently someone just arbitrarily chose a category that it should go into. The product is still in your merchant listings, currently listed as inactive. Just make it active again then change the category and try your luck.
  6. Is it possible to scan the contents of an objects, or scan by price in SL? Firestorm's area search only searches by name. For example an object might be named "object", but it contains an object called "boots", is it possible to scan it by inputting "boots"? Also how about search everything in the store that is 0L (good for hunts)?
  7. Mesh is already good enough since MOST (save for the couple of braindead creators) creators put out a free demo. It's going to take you around 10 seconds to see if the bum is good enough. Lots of creators use the template images themselves as the vendor, so it's very much hassle to put the backside shot and sideways shot on the same vendor. Maybe putting more images on the poster is ok. To be honest I don't know how I survived the pre-mesh SL since no clothing had demos. The only stores I trusted without demos are stores like aoharu, dela, bare rose, mon tissu and grasp.
  8. Tiffy Vella wrote: A thought- Wouldn't it be good if clothing/shoe designers included the alpha texture for their items along with the alpha system layer. This way, we could make our own combinations on a single layer. I had to do this last night, as I needed alpha masking on the top of my body (which I'd already made myself), and wanted heeled shoes as well. In Phoenix, this can't be done, as one layer must be sacrificed. The solution was to make my own foot alpha, so that I could combine alphas from upper and lower body in appearance mode. Granted, this only works if you are combining textures from seperate body areas, like a 'head' with 'lower body' or 'upper body'. So combining eyelash and teeth alphas which are both on the head layer couldn't be done inworld; you'd have to combine the layers in Photoshop and re-upload. Some (nice) creators do this. It is one of the factors that determines whether or not I come back to a store, the others being proper perms (copy/mod being best perms, no copy/no mod being worst obviously), whether or not it has demos, and quality and quickness of customer service. Some creators, on the other hand, apparently think that alpha textures are highly valuable and classified content. I've seen paranoid creators make no mod no trans alpha layers, let alone hand out the "valuable" texture used to make it, lol what a joke.
  9. 1. Clothing demos are never mod because that defeats the purpose of a demo if you can make it fully usable 2. Stuff resold from mesh kits are never mod because the reseller does not want you to find out that it was from a mesh kit. To find out if it's from a mesh kit, all you need to do is either examine the item's creator (it'll say something like "Meli Imako" instead of the store owner), or inspect to see if there is a root prim, usually a tiny little invisible box in the clothing, if there is, then it's from a kit as that's just a pathetic attempt at trying to hide the item creator's name 3. I have never seen a builder kit with a demo if that's what you're talking about 4. Full version builder kits are always full permission. O_o
  10. Just use the ruth fix kit (right click, replace outfit)... entire process takes like a few seconds. Never once failed for me in the thousands of times my avatar failed to load.
  11. Make your own shape? Why bother paying like 500 for a set of numbers (which is all shapes are). Or go to heaven's gate and grab the free shapes, they're all full-perm. Hair: nothing beats Wasabi Pills and Clawtooth in my opinion. Dela comes close but it has very limited colors. Elikatira has some nice styles as well but the 70% off sale is just over a few days ago so... Like clothing, mesh hair > sculpted hair >>>>>>>>>>>>>> flexi/prim hair Clothing: coldlogic, aoharu, coco, baiastice, leezu, g-field, grasp, blueberry. If you don't want to look outdated I suggest you get mesh clothing only and none of the cloth layer stuff, because they actually look like clothing instead of body paint. All the stores I listed have mesh, some of them has only mesh, which is good. The only exception is latex/bdsm wear, where the latex is supposed to look like body paint Footwear: HoC (house of curio) is your first stop to footwear, seriously. Unless you want to pay 10x the prices at other stores for the same or lower quality. Fatpack for 195L, whereas other places fatpacks are more like what, 3000L? Landmark that place, tape it to your monitor or whatever, so you won't be scammed again into buying stuff for crazy prices. Of course HoC doesn't have everything, so if you can't find what you need then start looking around other stores. Some suggestions: aoharu, elikatira, gos. AO: oracul, nowhere else. 300L for like 20 animated stands and 30-40 other misc animations (total upwards of 60 animations in an AO), seriously don't go anywhere except this store, it has like every animation you need. As for skins it depends on the ethnicity you want to take.
  12. Does anyone know of any tutorials for Daz Studio or Blender for rigging models to SL avatar? I made a really simple model (just a tube really) and I want to see how rigging works. I've googled a lot but so far found very little info on the rigging part. Thanks.
  13. Common bug with SL. Sometimes when you tp into laggy regions z-offset is screwed up. It seems to fix itself eventually when you tp to more regions. Do not edit your shoes because it's not a problem with the shoes, it's a problem with SL. The next time you log in when the problem is corrected, your "edited" shoes will now be in the wrong spot. You could try editing z-offset like suggested but just remember to put it back to 0 later.
  14. It takes 5min to rig a model, it takes hours to make the model from scratch. Seeing as he is not selling that Ada dress, and the butterfly pattern on that image is exactly the same as the in-game one, I'm pretty sure he just ripped it from the game, likely RE4 PC version, then tried to rig it for SL. Nothing wrong with ripping the model for non-commercial purposes. End of discussion please on this "how I made the dress that quick". For the 1bp comment one month is a really long time to wait for something, maybe CSR would do wonders in this situation. But seeing as pix just IMed me tonight, I've deleted my comment, I hope that settles that. Love 1bp stuff, hate absent customer service, nothing personal.
  15. Juicy Littlething wrote: What about this mesh dress? It is from One Bad Pixel -- shorter than what you're looking for, but similar. https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/1bp-Cherry-Cheong-Red/3431142 I already have that. It doesn't look anything like Ada's dress.
  16. How did you get that butterfly texture to look exactly the same as the real one? O_o Or is it just the RE4 model? :matte-motes-smug:
  17. Lol some merchants are bold enough to even put this in their item description: "receive 50% refund if you provide a 5-star review!" Yes it's perfectly within TOS. If RL business has no morals why should SL have any.
  18. Qie Niangao wrote: Not sure it's exactly the same phenomenon or not, but I've seen the same general behavior with attached ordinary prims--not even sculpties--when crossing region borders or teleporting... for so long I'm not sure it's ever not done that. For me, it most often happens with hair, regardless of style. I still favor hair with mostly non-flexi prims, some flexis, and a sculpt or two in the linkset, but I really don't think it matters: Any or all of them may disappear until clicked. That's in my own viewer; no idea how it looks to others. I can confirm this. Though the stuff that disappears the most often are: - Mesh stuff - Hair (mesh or not) - Jewelry (earrings, collars, etc) - Shoes However for me teleporting somewhere else does NOT solve the problem, only a relog will those items re-appear.
  19. Well 5k may be an understatement... think about if, full perm mesh kits (except Meli's) are like what 3k? Custom orders will only cost even more than that. Logically custom orders shouldn't cost more, because you're giving them an idea of a product to sell, why should it cost that much? Even if the customer isn't happy with the custom order and won't buy it, you can still sell it like a regular product. Though prices are better than they were back in 2006-2007, where @#^@#% scammers are selling complete crap for crazy prices. My clueless friend bought a tattoo with ONLY A WORD ON IT (which takes like 5min to make) for 1.5k, and not even full perm. If it'll only take a few minutes for you to make that dress (no idea how you can achieve that unless you already have a dress like that made and just needs rigging), well I'd love to see the results.
  20. Suki Hirano wrote: This is probably the more appropriate forum for it as I'm not looking for for someone to make it from scratch I.e., I'm not going to pay like 5k for this dress. Looking for an existing product.
  21. Their ads are HEAVILY photoshopped. You WON'T look like their ads if you wear the skin, which leads me to think the quality sucks. Good quality stores don't need heavy photoshop to enhance their ads, because their skins are already good to start with.
  22. This is probably the more appropriate forum for it as I'm not looking for for someone to make it from scratch I'm looking for a red gown/dress that is the same as the one Ada wears in Resident Evil 4: http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-CMOWq9brjpU/TealTAbB3EI/AAAAAAAAAi8/9GEnAonQqI8/s1600/Ada1.jpg Needs to be mesh, split-skirt, and skinny (I have a few gowns but they're all too chubby), but doesn't need to have the butterfly patterns (just red will do). Thanks.

  24. Utilizator and surrounding anime shops has everything you need, except maybe the hair. The hair would be difficult as I haven't seen any mesh hair like that yet.
  25. I hope they DON'T go back to that stupid last name thing, unless they allow us to CREATE OUR OWN last names. I remember I was so sick of trying out combinations of first/last names so I don't end up with some retarded last name like "gossipgirl". I know countless people who had to make up BS first names in order to get a proper last name, or making typos in first names on purpose (like "johnn" or "kely"). In all MMORPGs you just have one name, one permanent name, I don't see why SL has to be different. If someone is stupid enough to write up a retarded name, well then the only explanation is they're completely fine with having that name. I don't know any other games that allow you to change your name after creating it, unless you create a new account that is.
