1. Is it even possible to animate a texture on Y axis? I've been fumbling around with this super simple function, llSetTextureAnim, for the last hour and simply can't do it. It keeps on animating on the x axis no matter what values I set for sizex and sizey variables. For example I set llSetTextureAnim(ANIM_ON | SMOOTH | LOOP, ALL_SIDES, 1,5,0,5,-0.5); It still slides texture from left to right. In fact it doesn't matter what values i set for the first 4 variables, it has absolutely no effect on the animation. Only the last variable, the framerate and direction, has any effect. For example this has the exact same animation as above: llSetTextureAnim(ANIM_ON | SMOOTH | LOOP, ALL_SIDES, 255,1,0,255,-0.5); I know that I can rotate the object or the texture, but that won't work because my texture is not perfectly symmetrical on both axis. Here's a simple animation I did to illustrate the problem. This is what the animation looks like right now: http://imgur.com/E9NjjNf This is what it looks like when I either rotate the object or rotate texture by 90 degrees: http://imgur.com/e9oBX1b This is what I want it to look like: http://imgur.com/MJn2PG0 A really dumb way would be to actually edit the textures themselves by rotating them 90 degrees... but that's not really a feasible solution as A) sometimes I'm not the owner of the textures and B) that would mean I have to redo every single texture whenever I want to animate it.
2. Truth creator never answers IMs/notecards regardless of whether or not he's online.
3. Yet another clueless fashionably backward troll bashing fashionably forward ideas. Here are some suggestions for OP: - Go learn basic 3D modelling principles before coming here and sounding like a complete moron demanding "everything to fit to everything". Old mesh are not fitted mesh so they will NOT fit to everything. Are you saying you never had to change your shape to fit into those old 2010 mesh skirts? - I bet you just demo'd a mesh body, then found your breasts are too large for a mesh bra and your butts are too large for a mesh thong, then binned the demo body because "it won't fit" - Or, just stay with your fugly noob body and shop in your fashionably backward shops because like it or not, fitmesh bodies are the future of SL
4. Maitreya Lara body is the best imo. Although Slink still has most popular applier support, it's fading out as more and more people are buying alternatives, since its shape is simply plain and too similar to the ugly linden body compared to the other 3. Maitreya: + Best looking shape, no cankles unlike TMP/Belleza + Second cheapest + Native support for almost all Glam Affair skins (appliers built right into hud) + Omega support, meaning next to no applier problems + Great customer service (almost guaranteed answer within 24 hours) + Free fatpack of fitted mesh lingerie that comes with it + 3 types of feet (low/mid/high) for free + Free hands + Most if not all clothes from Maitreya are fitted to this body for seamless fit. Since Maitreya is one of the best clothing shops in SL you should have no problem finding clothes for this body - Very little shoes for its feet. You need to buy the Slink feet if you wanna wear shoes - Fingernails use different UV map as Slink so you might have some trouble finding appliers unless it's Omega TMP: + Has some great looking clothes fitted specifically to this body. No more fugly clothing layer garbage + Free functional non-watermark demo + Feet (separate purchase) has more shoes made for it than Maitreya - Very expensive (5k for standard, 10k for same amount of functions as Maitreya body, whereas Maitreya only costs 2750) - Those cankles - You need to buy feet separately - No Omega applier support. You're gonna have lots of problems finding appliers Belleza: + Native support for Belleza skins + Comes with feet/hands + Its feet has more shoes made for it than Maitreya feet - Very expensive (6k I think?) - No Omega applier support. You're gonna have lots of problems finding appliers - Elephant legs. Forget it if you want slightly thicker thighs cause that'll turn your calf into trunks
5. Tangos are not fit mesh. Delicq is. I'd advise against buying anything from Lolas for the following reasons: - Zero customer support. I had fitting problems after buying Delicq, sent at least 10 IMs/notecards to both customer rep and lolas creator, no response for months. No support group. No support website. Nothing - Completely recycled models for all their newer breasts and selling for full price, with next to no new features added. Yes let's take our old model back into Blender, add fitmesh rigging, and call it "Delicq". That's pretty much the only thing they did. Also zero discount for owners of previous models. Even Adobe offers steep discounts for their software ffs - Lolas breasts look terrible compared to their competitors (Sinful Needs mostly), and even more terrible compared to mesh bodies. First you have a huge visible seam that looks like your boobs were glued on or surgically attached, then you have the problem that they look absolutely horrendous at larger slider values (>70) that makes them look like jagged melons - No marketplace store. Why? To evade the Lindens in case of a DMCA (the whole L.Inc/Wowmeh/U.L fiasco) because Lindens won't bother chasing people down inworld Pretty much all my friends are boycotting this shady store now.
6. Bobbie Faulds wrote: I believe that that estimate is about 10% of the SL population uses any mesh additions. Many, you mention mesh body parts and they have no idea what you're talking about. So...huge market. Skin fair starts March 15, just take a look at the map the first few days and you'll see your potiential customer base. The sim/sims will be maxed out fhe first week, guaranteed. Please tell me where you got this ridiculous stat. Here are some facts for you: 1. Tons of avatars are inactive and haven't been touched before mesh even came out 2. Please go into any ACTIVE fashion-related sim (e.g., a shop or a fashion fair) and tell me how many people you see that DON'T have slink feet/hands. I shop almost everyday and 99% of the people have at least the slink feet (because SL don't have recognizable human feet), 1/3 of the people have mesh bodies, roughly 10% of the people still wear mesh boobs, and at least half of the people have slink hands. Unless you've been hanging out in fashion-backward sims with graphics that resemble Minecraft I have no clue how you can miss the complete takeover of mesh bodypart replacements. No idea what a mesh body part is? Lol. Yeah maybe if you ask someone who just rezzed onto newcomer island then they might not have an idea. Honestly if people prefer to look outdated then it's their own choice, but stop spreading completely false information to make your own choices seem like the "majority choice". Here are some REAL information for the potential mesh-based creator: 1. Almost all shops (that are actually make a profit) create only mesh clothing now, or at least offer appliers for their clothing layer stuff 2. 99.99% of hair shops offer only mesh hair 3. Fitted mesh tailored to certain bodies is increasing in popularity, which is good for users of mesh bodies. Maitreya just updated their line to support their body 4. If you don't offer appliers for your skin then expect a huge decrease in sales, period. It takes you all of 10 minutes to create an applier so I have no idea why you wouldn't make one Bobbie Faulds wrote: Yes, mesh wearers wear regular skins. You're also going to use the same files you use for the skin for the appliers you're going to want to make to go with them. Most mesh wearers don't have mesh heads, for instances. Mesh bodies and parts need the appliers for them to match the skin. I'd suggest the Omega and Slink appliers, and don't forget the Slink hands and feet as well. You'll be using the UUID from the skin texture you uploaded in the appliers. Don't worry about separate Lola/banned/sking/whatever appliers. Omega covers most of the mesh except for Slink and TMP. Slink is worth doing as it is one of the more popular bodies. Those of us that wear mesh parts are always looking for skin designers that have appliers. As for pricing, I don't suggest you offer the appliers for free unless you really want to. However, it would be nice to offer all the skin tones in one set rather than having to buy each color separately. I know I'm more inclined to buy other tones of the same skin if I know I have the applier in my inventory for it. Again incorrect. Here are some instructions for OP: 1. You DON'T use the same files for the feet and hands. If you do, expect your feet and hands to look completely bugged due to different UV mapping 2. You need to photoshop your body/legs (containing feet and hands) textures to match the mesh body's UV mapping. Mesh bodies provide you with their UV template and you need to airbrush out the contours that don't match the mapping 3. If you copy/paste the same UUID for lolas boobs, expect your boobs' texture to look distorted because the X/Y dimensions are set to 0.5, not 1. This is why you DO need to photoshop the chest texture for mesh boobs Because extra work needs to be done, this is why most creators don't offer free appliers. It's nice that lots do offer free appliers though, because the body/legs do indeed use the same textures (most of the time, some creators choose to slightly edit it for mesh bodies). For the creators who just copy/paste the same UUID for body/leg textures which literally takes 10 seconds, and actually charge for it, they're just simply greedy.
7. Anyone know where these pasties are from? http://i.imgur.com/JiKZkt6.jpg
8. Amethyst Jetaime wrote: Edit shape doesn't work on all mesh bodies, and even when it does, only some of the sliders work. False. Every single slider works. Unless you're using an old non-fitted mesh body which I'm unsure even exists.
9. Besides Wowmeh (which is no longer available) no fitted mesh body is moddable. For this reason Maitreya body is the best: - Works with Omega - Comes with free fitted mesh lingerie set - Way cheaper than TMP and looks way better too - The most alpha regions of any mesh body - Comes with hands and feet (though feet kinda useless as it's not compatible with any mesh footwear) It's more expensive than Slink though, but consider its advantages I think it's worth it.
10. Lol body fat 24. Question to the creators of this standard sizing, how many people in SL did you meet with a body fat value of 24, especially in more popular places since that's where consumers go? Now how many people do you see with a boob size of 71? Boob size of 71 is large yes, but not crazily large. Most supermodels have boobs that large, especially lingerie/swimwear models, or if you just want to look sexy. So the conclusion is that "standard sizing" should be called "1950s real life sizing".
11. Heads? Not by far. Rough estimate, less than 1% of active shoppers use them. As much as I support mesh bodypart replacers I don't own any mesh heads, because none of them are customizable. The day that morph points are added for the head (like nose, eyes, mouth etc, which makes fitted mesh heads possible) is the day I start using mesh head replacers. Body? Yeah it's becoming highly popular. At least 1/3 of the people I see while shopping (uglies excluded) has one of the 4 major bodies (Slink, Maitreya, TMP, Belleza). You can mod every shape slider on mesh body so I rarely had any trouble fitting into mesh clothes. The rest of the people use mesh leg/butt replacers. Of course it depends on where you hang out. If you hang out at some super dated place where 90% of the people look like they just exited newb island then yeah... not gonna find much people wearing mesh body replacers.
12. Sassy Romano wrote: Suki, it's a pity that you wrote so much while spectacularly failing to grasp one single element of my post. My writing is usually quite lucid, should I use even smaller words next time? If you don't even understand what you wrote yourself then yeah maybe you should. Either that or you have a short term memory and don't even remember what you wrote. Do you need a dictionary to look up what your own words mean? I'll translate them for you then. "Simple. To put it bluntly, all this mesh replacement part crap is utter madness!" Mesh = crap + utter madness. Explain to me how I "didn't understand what you meant". "You're asking creators to go back and re-edit over and over just to retrofit each time a new "best in SL" as each creator will claim, body part comes along." What I understand: every time new mesh bodyparts come out you gotta remake stuff. Correct? "So, i'm not getting at you but that's why, the mesh market has turned to fragmentation and frustration and has basically turned to crap." So if mesh = crap and frustration, then by the process of elimination if you wanna create something it has to be clothing layers since you can't really make a sculptie dress. Unless you found something else besides mesh, sculpties, prims and clothing layers in SL? Next time actually take the time to formulate an argument instead of just giving a pathetic comeback like "I didn't understand a single word of what you meant". Mercedes Avon wrote: You sound unnecessarily abrasive. Nowhere did Sassy claim system layers were superior to mesh. You need to say the exact words to mean something? If I say something like "I hate all colours except pink" then it doesn't mean "I hate blue" right? Refer to last bolded statement above and see if you decipher any other meaning from that statement. What I'm tired of is people who says stuff like "mesh is crap" without even processing the thought through their brain. It's fine if you don't like mesh and prefer to look 5 years out of date, no one gives a crap, keep it to yourself because unfortunately for you mesh is 99% of the market right now. I see people while shopping who look like Ruth Linden's younger sister and I always assume they are newcomers. It's like parading around an internet forum and saying things like "I hate 3D games they're all crap" just because your computer is too crappy to handle it. All it does is make you look immature and idiotic.
13. You do realize all the popular mesh bodies are fitted mesh right? Fitted mesh means they'll reflect your shape sliders, every single one of them. Decrease breast size, increase love handles, enlarge hip length, decrease butt size, voila your SL Meg Griffin. I don't see how you can't make a "non-sexy" shape, though Slink Physique is already on the modest side. Default SL body is just painfully ugly unless you're fully clothed. Bugged crotch area, awful hands, boobs that are so low in vertices that you can practically count the number, butt that looks like it was made with play-dough and the epic feet... those are just epic.
14. Sassy Romano wrote: Tallulah Bilavio wrote: Why cant they be made wearable for all or certainly the ones for which the outfit is wearable? This is all rather annoying since I'm paying the same price for the outfit but can only wear half of it. I would just like to know the thinking behind this because I am not going to be sheep herded into buying every foot on the market! Simple. To put it bluntly, all this mesh replacement part crap is utter madness! You're asking creators to go back and re-edit over and over just to retrofit each time a new "best in SL" as each creator will claim, body part comes along. Mesh has gone through enough ridiculous phases that as far as i'm concerned, it was badly implemented in the first phase, we had to wait too long for a solution that aimed at fixing sizing issues and the one we were offered doesn't work well at all. Now it seems that everyone wants to make a replacement this or that and then customers wonder why a product created prior to the new things suddenly doesn't work as they expect. Mesh replacment parts, bodies most notably are a joke when it comes to alpha needs as you're limited to the panels offered by an alpha hud, there's no common scripting mechansim so it fundamentally breaks anything scripted for RLV for example, where scripted clothing control is desired. So, i'm not getting at you but that's why, the mesh market has turned to fragmentation and frustration and has basically turned to crap. I've given up making anything because the amount of effort to meet customer expectations, far exceeds the return on investment of my time and that's not that the customer expectations are unreasonable. The questions that you asked are fair to you, you just want to pay money and have stuff that works for you but it can't reasonably be met in all cases without massive effort and constant re-visiting and re-working of existing products and that is an unsustainable expectation of a merchant. Your post has facepalm written all over it. You seem like one of those people who thinks anything new is bad. Mesh is superior to the crap known as "clothing layers" and the not-so-crap-but-outdated-anyways stuff known as "sculpties". If you like sweaters or shorts that look like they were painted on with a crayon then be my guest and continue to look like a 2008 noob. Some low-res tan skin + prim/flexi long hair + the ridiculous smile and big eyes + crayon shirt + prim/flexi skirt = instant noobification. Do you see any HD games nowadays that's not using mesh? I don't think so. It's probably good that you've given up because I'm trying to imagine who still buys non-mesh clothes nowadays, other than appliers, which are still for mesh body parts. I can't really name a single well-known store that sells non-mesh clothing, and is making enough money to actually survive. Also your argument of "constantly remaking stuff" is completey invalid, you probably have no idea what you're talking about. Here are some simple facts to correct yourself: - Slink, and to a much lesser extent, Belleza, are the only feet that people use. Ncore feet and JD feet are pretty much limited to their own respective stores. Mesh feet are already considered a "basic" for anyone who even has the slightest sense of aesthetics, and everyone knows Slink is pretty much a monopoly here. There's only 1 kit, or 2 kits, that you have to get if you want to make shoes, I don't see any problem here? - Every body except TMP is compatible with Omega applier system. All bodies use default SL clothing UV map. You don't have to re-create ANYTHING. Just insert your UUID into an applier hud and your clothing will work for all bodies Unfortunately your opinion is pretty much worthless as 99% of the people I see in SL has at least one mesh replacement part, be it boobs or feet or body. Most people have at least half of their ugly SL body replaced. And for all the designers complaining "you have to re-create stuff", if you're one who creates original mesh, then yes it means some extra work is needed to morph your existing model to fit new feet/bodies. But let's face it it's not that much work because I make some mesh myself because all you're doing is playing around with morphs. RL tailors need to spend time to make custom sizes too, no? As for all the kit-resellers there I seriously have no idea wtf you're complaining about when the same texture you made works for all bodies or shoes.
15. Thanks for the suggestions. I tried to move the origin away from the centre and that method worked. Selected all the vertices of the duplicate then separated it, then reset the origin of both objects back to center of mass.
16. I'm using Blender, how do I mirror an object correctly? If I duplicate an object then simply mirror it with the mirror command (which simply turns one of the scale coordinates into negative value), it will have a parsing error when trying to upload into SL as SL doesn't except negative values in scale coordinates. If I use the mirror modifier it will create a mirror right on top of the original object, making it very difficult to separate because then I'd have to select every single vertice manually then force it to separate that way. If the mesh is very complex I don't see this as a viable solution. So how do I mirror an object properly in Blender? For things that are meant to be separate objects, like bracelets, earrings, garters, etc?
17. Anyone know where I can find mesh pasties or nipple covers? Any style, tapes, discs, cones, etc. Searched on marketplace already but only found cloth layer/appliers, keywords aren't even remotely helpful since there's no mesh section.
18. I'm looking for a high quality rigged mesh fur robe similar to this: http://cdn-s3-0.wanelo.com/product/image/2414583/original.jpg Preferably thigh length, but knee length is fine too. Needs to be completely open (all the way down) to fit mesh breasts and show tummy. Thanks for suggestions.
19. I know SL servers are in the US, but are there also servers in Asia? I'm in Asia and I have 300+ ping, making SL nearly unplayable, and 90% of tp's end up in a crash due to lagging out. I'm pretty sure there are lots of creators in China/Japan/Korea, do they all have this level of ping?
20. I can't log into SL Wiki, it says my password is incorrect, but that's obviously not the case because the password used there is the same as my SL account. I didn't enter it wrong. Anyone else have this problem? Very weird.
21. Does anyone know how it's possible to morph mesh with scripts, without using the old "have all copies of the mesh linked together and just show/hide various morphs" trick? An example is this tail I saw, you clearly don't see 30 copies of the thing all linked together with all except one hidden, yet you can use the hud to change the shape, and no they're not simply resizing it. You can also show/hide parts yet they don't become invisible, they're completely gone when hidden. Is the script destroying the linked prim and rezzing a new one or something?
22. The hairpin is not part of the hair. The hair I linked could be 2 hairs as suggested by an in-world person. However I got a demo of the diva and compared it with the picture, even the bun and bangs looked different. Oh my goodness that hair looks terrible lol... :matte-motes-shocked: Er high quality ones please, preferably mesh... Thanks.
23. Saw this ad in KioKio, where is this hair from? Already messaged the creator but got ignored. It's not from D!va or loq, already checked. Also, looking for similar fancy updo styles. I've searched awhile and haven't really found any good ones, everything I've found are just simple buns. Truth's are too casual looking.
24. Parhelion Palou wrote: Suki Hirano wrote: Why does SL not have an entry queuing system? For popular events where you can't enter the damn sim for like 2-3 days, instead of having everyone staying in front of a computer clicking the LM nonstop, why not have a queuing system where you queue up for entry? Almost all MMOs with instances have this feature. To prevent afking at the landing spot (which is entirely possible as you afk while you queue), if you don't move for let's say 5 minutes, then you get kicked out and have to queue again? SL isn't an MMO. It doesn't have instances. Don't expect LL to make server code changes like that for such a limited case, especially when they're working on the "next generation virtual world". A script could be used to boot people who don't move from the landing spot for a period of time, but that would be up to the land owner. Actually, SL is an MMO. It's massive, it's online, it's multiplayer. The only difference is instead of being 80% gaming, 10% social and 10% cash shop like a regular MMO, it's 80% cash shop, 19% social and 1% gaming. Anyway it's not even that hard to implement considering Firestorm implemented tons of new features and they're a volunteer team. All it is is a queuing script that will auto-tp you when your number is up. But since LL rarely if ever implements new features... yeah I don't expect this to be implemented. Just thought I'd leave this thought here.

Yes creator is completely **bleep** on the perms on this item, including how appliers are handed out, but unfortunately there are no good substitutes so we put up with it.
