  1. Random story generator maybe: Pre-written paragraphs get selected randomly and concatenated to a new post.
  2. Clearing the cache from inside the viewer is actually useless as it only clears the cached textures, but leaves out all the other stuff. So if there are problems, always clear the cache from outside the viewer.
  3. Might be this one: Firestorm Logs out During Login When you receive notifications, unless you dismiss them, they accumulate for later reading, in the small envelope icon on the lower right of the screen. Over time, they will grow in number. If you log out, these unread notifications are saved for when you next log in. If there are too many of them, processing them during next log in can cause a log in time out and you will be disconnected. The solution here is to delete the file with the saved notifications. Locate your Firestorm settings folder. If you do not see this folder, you may need to show hidden folders. On XP: C:\Documents and Settings\[YOUR USERNAME]\Application Data\Firestorm or use the environment variable %APPDATA%) On Windows Vista and 7: C:\Users\[uSERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\Firestorm (or use the environment variable %APPDATA%) On a Mac: /Users/[YOUR USERNAME]/Library/Application Support/Firestorm On Linux: ~/.firestorm In this folder, open each folder which has the name of your SL account(s) and inside that, delete the file called open_notifications.xml - this will result in all past, unread notifications being lost.
  4. File a support ticket and describe the situation: https://support.secondlife.com/create-case/
  5. Second Life "Locks Up" on "Initializing VFS" If this occurs, chance are good that the inventory cache is corrupt. Deleting it should solve the problem. Locate your cache folder. You will probably need to do this manually, if you are unable to log in. Use a file manager (like Windows Explorer for Windows system, Dolphin, or some such) to locate the cache folder. In its default location, the cache folder is hidden on most OSs. To find it, you will need to show hidden folders. Default cache locations are: Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\[uSERNAME]\Local Settings\Application Data\SecondLife Windows Vista: C:\Users\[uSERNAME]\AppData\Local\SecondLife Windows 7: C:\Users\[uSERNAME]\AppData\Local\SecondLife Mac: ~/Library/Caches/SecondLife linux: ~/.SecondLife/cache In this folder, locate the files named data.db2.x.* and index.db2.x.* (where * is a digit: 0, 1, 2, etc; you may have more than one of each type of file) Delete all files that match these two names. Log back into SL, to a quiet region (try Hippo Hollow, Aich or Hatton). Allow your inventory to repopulate fully.
  6. 1. Enable installtion of apps from unknown sources in preferences -> security 2. Download APK from official site: https://adblockplus.org/downloads/adblockplusandroid-1.0.1.apk 3. Don't see any ads on Android
  7. It doesn't matter if Google cares or not. Since you can officially download apps from other sources than Google Play, removing the app from their app store won't stop distribution of ABP - it just makes it more difficult to find.
  8. 16 wrote: google just now banned ad blocking apps from the google play store. seems they not very happy about that lol (: http://techcrunch.com/2013/03/13/google-pulls-ad-blocking-apps-from-play-store-for-violating-developer-distribution-agreement/ Who cares? It's Android and not iOS. Simply sideload it from another appstore or install the APK file manually (if available).
  9. Phil Deakins wrote: If you are saying that blocking the ads being against the ToS is nonsense, I agree with you. You are right. But if you are saying that the idea that there is nothing wrong with banner ads is nonsense, then you are wrong. You didn't say which part of the post you think is nonsense. Former part.
  10. Wait until they show up inworld when opening somebody's profile - thanks to those awesome web profiles!
  11. Re-activating a canceled account If you have cancelled your account, you may be able to restore it, depending on how long ago it was cancelled. There is a US$9.95 reactivation fee for restoring an account. Warning: Even if your account is restored, the associated inventory, land, and Linden dollar balance may be unrecoverable. To start the process: Open a support case. Under What type of problem are you having? choose Account Issue. Choose Reactivate an old account. Enter the required information Click Submit.
  12. You might want to try the Merchant Outbox project viewer from http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Linden_Lab_Official:Alternate_Viewers as a workaround for moving stuff into the merchant outbox. Reports indicate that it should solve different kind of issues with the merchant outbox.
  13. If there are some objects in red (or more pink), then those are objects deeded to the group. It's a bit difficult to understand what you exactly mean. Can you perhaps make a screenshot of the map?
  14. You mean the background of the minimap becomes red? That's when there's a connection issue and the circuit to the sim gets interrupted.
  15. Copy this file into the SL install folder: http://hg.phoenixviewer.com/phoenix-firestorm-lgpl/raw-file/c9b9c627d381/indra/newview/gpu_table.txt It already includes the Titan signature. ETA: Or alternatively, you can add this line to th the gpu_table.txt file (make sure to not break the formatting): NVIDIA GTX TITAN .*NVIDIA .*GTX *TITAN.* 5 1 0 0

  17. Does your L$ balance show the correct value and is it at least L$10? If not, the upload option gets disabled. If you have enough L$ on your account, but the displayed amount is wrong, click on the account in the viewer to refresh the value with the correct value from the server.
  18. Try the steps described here (since this was written for Firestorm viewer, you might need to adjust the path names if you are using a different viewer, for instance replace "Firestorm" with "SecondLife" if you are using the official viewer): http://wiki.phoenixviewer.com/fs_cache_clear
  19. Arrival hub = info hub? There's more than one on Zindra.
