  1. Hahaha! Actually it's really easy: * LSL2 scripts always use 16 KB of memory, no matter how much they really need * Mono-compiled scripts only use as much memory as they need, with 64 KB the limit * The LSL profile functions and the script memory function inside the viewer always report 16 KB for LSL2 and 64 KB for Mono scripts. This ends up in the ludicrous situation that a simple script that only prints "Hello World" and only uses a few bytes will show up as 16 KB if you compile it the "classic" way and 64 KB if you compile it as Mono. But if you compile it as Mono, it doesn't use 64 KB, but those few bytes instead. Those script memory tools always show 64 KB, no matter how much memory really is used.
  2. Somewhat reminds me of "Operation Human Shield"...
  3. Dillon Levenque wrote: So which matters most? Memory usage or number of scripts? Or is it like everything else in SL (or RL, for that matter): it depends? Memory usage is quite useless. Mono-compiled scripts allocate as much memory as they need dynamically within their limit of 64 KB. The LSL script profiling functions and also the script memory overview in the about land window always return the maximum memory limit instead of the actually used memory. So it's quite ludicrous to see all those crappy avatar memory usage denunciation boards where you end up in the top-5 with your Mono-compiled scripts that actually use less memory than those people running around in LSL2-compiled scripts.

Would you like to know more? Was that really quoted correct in that way? You became citizen only after joining the army. Why does it start with "Do your part, citizen!" then? Guess I'll have to watch the movie again...

  6. Well there are still quite a few nasty crashers in the V3 codebase due to mesh. For instance those LOGO mesh heads are quite crashtastic...
  7. Oh that one... It's megaprim / mesh-related. Apparently fixed it for next release already while pulling a fix for a griefer crash. For reference: http://jira.phoenixviewer.com/browse/FIRE-8266
  8. Wears pink because she doesn't care about that day!
  9. Delete everything in the cache folder. The two folders and all the other files, especially the one with the ".inv.gz" extension. Those are the inventory cache files.
  10. It's probably on the high priority list together with bringing back last names and mesh deformer...

Even if it is not a defined rule and the avatar was causing massive disruption, shouldn't it be up to the sim staff to ban the offender? Linden Lab is not a virtual babysitting service after all and sometimes it is up to sim owners to ensure peace within their sims. LOL! Free shower for everyone!

  13. Did you already try with the Merchant Outbox project viewer: http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Linden_Lab_Official:Alternate_Viewers#Merchant_Outbox
  14. Only two more threads and this one will be off the first page! LOL
  15. Don't install Flash from within the viewer - that doesn't work! Install the version for "Other Browsers" (Important! NOT the version for Internet Explorer!) here: http://get.adobe.com/de/flashplayer/otherversions/
  16. I'd consider that as feature! You don't have to see those ugly people anymore! Everyone is in nice gray!
  17. A detailed solution to fix that issue can also be found here: http://wiki.phoenixviewer.com/fs_bake_fail
  18. Did you click on "Permalink" to open up the comments to answers, too?
  19. Wearing Your Entire Inventory If you find yourself suddenly starting to wear your entire inventory, here are some suggestions for how to fix the problem. Please do them one at a time; the initial methods are simpler than later ones, and will often work. If a method fails, then move on to the next one. Please also follow the instructions as exactly as possible. Method 1 Open the Current Outfit folder (no, don't click on the Worn tab; find the Current Outfit folder), and shift select blocks of 10 or so worn items and Right click → detatch from yourself. Note: Do not attempt to remove too many worn links in one go, or you will likely crash or freeze. Also note that you cannot detatch your skin, shape, bald hairbase or eyes links.Detatch everything showing worn in Current Outfit folder that you can and then delete all unworn links a few at a time (again, dont delete too many at once ot you may freeze/crash).Once you are only left with skin, shape, baldy and eyes worn, you may wish to empty trash as there may be hundreds of links in there. Now you are safe to replace outfit normally Method 2 If the above doesn't solve the problem, the fix below usually works - though it may need to be repeated a couple of times: Go to Hippo Hollow Make a temporary folder in your inventory; in that, put a *copy* of your skin, shape, hair base and eyes - and if you like, a base layer garment like jeans or a dress. NO PRIMS Right click the folder you just made, and select Replace Outfit. No Add, not wear, but REPLACE Once that has done, relog to last location - ie, back to Hippo Hollow. Make sure you are still wearing only the things from the temporary folder you made At this point, you can put your normal avatar back on.
