Iam thinking of putting together some ships (mainly tankers, maybe a few Liners and a oil rig or 2 ) that could be looked at while you are gazing the beautiful ocean other that well "ocean" Nothing is ever seen while meditating and watching the sea. My question is, In the SL world is it round, oval, etc or do we just drop off into an abbyss. :). there is another test that is do. Do a tracert (Windows) or a traceroute (Linux to the SL servers. The first hop is you router with shold averag 3 -16ms on a good day. The second hop it your gateway to the net. if that is below 25 ms your doing good, but look for 9 -16ms., very good. After that its a toss up. That is the Internet and nothing you can do, other than an act of congress can fix it.. Remember and thisis my idea. Greetings Every on. I hope everyones evening is going nicely. I got a small problem. I was helping a friend set up a free account and everything went right and we pushe the button and waited for the email to finish the registration. We waited for about 30 minutes and then tried to resend the email. It still has not arrived and its been over 12 hours I think. Is it an issue with waiting for Monday ( a business day for the email ta arrive? If not, maybe you can shed some light on the problem. Everything has always worked straight before. I think we all may be looking and LINUX servers with there time sharing. I believe it is called "preimptive sharing". With a heavy load on the "Linux server" that could lead to lag withi overloading othf servers. The old case as in my days as a machinist, run it till it drops, bandaid it and run it till it drops while management turns a blind eye, and fires the poor engineer for a bad performance review. The Servers are overloaded with North America going to bed and Asian country's waking up and across Europe to England and back to U.S. waking up. Its a vicious circle with equipment that the engineers are given and told to DO IT. Linux preimptive time sharing works good ( a lot better that M$) until maybe you get 20 30k clients all grabbing time. Is load balanceing a problem?
