  1. How about the ones that go through a group list IMing everyone. Him: Hi Me: Hello *crickets* Me: If all you are going to say is hi don't bother IMing. *plonk*
  2. I agree with new merchants not necessarily needing a re-delivery system to start out with. On the other hand, when they don't have one, even for a brand new business, it can be a deterrent for (prospective) customers. Many people won't buy from a merchant that doesn't use a re-delivery system because it can be an unpleasant experience trying to contact a merchant, depending on their preferred method of contact. It's much easier on the merchant and the customer for the customer to be able to hit the re-delivery terminal. I seem to recall that some of the vendor creators included re-delivery terminals with the vendor package or at least, offered it as a separate package that works with the vendor system. The ones I used to use had a re-delivery system but I'm not certain if it was a separate package or included with the vendors. I think it was included. And yes, (before you ask lol) I am one of those who more than likely won't buy from a merchant that doesn't have a re-delivery system. It would depend on how badly I needed (or wanted) the item and whether or not I could purchase a comparable item from a merchant that does have re-delivery.
  3. Just to clarify, when I mentioned "grid wide uniformity" I was not referring to LL creating a grid wide vendor system. What I meant was all creators should have a re-delivery system in place in their in world stores, if they have one.
  4. Sometimes I regret emptying Trash. No, it wasn't an accident. It's rare but there have been times when I deleted something and emptied my Trash only to realize later on there was something I needed or changed my mind about in there. Unlike RL, we don't have to buy the item twice in SL from those merchants who use a re-delivery system. I see no reason why re-delivery can't be uniform grid wide and on the MP other than the time and effort it would take for LL to do the coding and using residents as guinea pigs testing. The only obstacle would be the expense. The expense didn't stop Bento, Experiences and a few other things residents were very vocal about.
  5. There are only two "holidays" I like decorating my home for in RL and SL. Harvest and Christmas. I'm not American, I'm Lakota. If someone doesn't like it, that is their problem, not mine. They don't have to come visit my home(s) during that time. I won't hold it against them.
  6. It isn't over for North Koreans. And there are those who are working diligently to revert back to how things were 50-100 year ago in the US and more recently Canada. It really isn't over with yet.
  7. Yesterday I was all wrapped up in matching some group gift shoes/feet up with my current skin using RGB, since I knew it would be a while before I would have a mesh body. Then someone anonymously buying the Lara body for me shocked me so much that it didn't hit me until I read your post that I could likely do the same with the body. Thank you. ?
  8. How would I be able to tell what tone my skin is? About all I do know is that the "India" applier on the Maitreya HUD is the one that almost perfectly matches my A&E Sharisa Mocha skin. I'm at A&E right now looking at the ones on the left side of the entrance and I see now the Maitreya demo. It's starting to come together for me a bit but when I mouse over it says "Women's body appliers for Maitreya DEMO" and the next line says "For Maitreya Bento and non Bento heads". I'm not sure what that means. Is it for the body or the head? Or does it mean that it will work for the heads as well as the body? This is what confuses me. I know Sachi is trying to make it clear. It's not her fault it doesn't translate well for me. I'm just going to take the plunge and grab the demo, take it home and see what is what. If I need a new skin, it will have to wait until after I get a couple of paychecks. Or longer. In the meantime I have found some mesh group gift outfits that will get me through until then. Thank you so much for your help! You have no idea what it means to me. Between what you have told me and the gift of the Lara body I am close to tears.
  9. The skin I'm using isn't even the A & E store anymore. I bought it 5 or 6 years ago. And holy cow! I don't know what is going on. I have the Lara demo and all of a sudden this happened: It wasn't my other half. He had just logged in 3 minutes before that. Whoever did it... thank you so very much! You are a very kind and generous person whoever you are! I will reciprocate in kind for someone else in the future! ANd now I have to go before my dinner burns!
  10. Thanks. The skin I use came from Adam & Eve (Sharise Mocha). I've been there and LAQ as well as Glam Affair. A&E seem to have their own body now but I kind of have my heart set on the Lara since I have been familiar with and bought from Maitreya for years. I don't know. I may go back and get the A&E demo. Everything seems to be called an applier and I'm just so confused by what I have seen. I do get that they are called appliers because they "apply" the textures but nothing really tells me that this skin/applier for the "classic" will work with the Lara. If that makes sense. As I said, I'm confused. Hopefully I'll get it sorted out before I get completely discouraged and give up.
  11. Apparently, I will be spending the rest of the day trying to figure out where I can buy a "classic avatar" skin that will blend in the neck area a little better with the mesh body (Lara) I plan to get at some point in the future and being frustrated to the point of almost being in tears. It's frustrating because I know many people don't use mesh heads and yet from what I have seen their "classic" skins blend perfectly with their mesh bodies.
  12. You mean you don't want to met up at O'Brien's and get plastered on Hurricanes with me? ?
  13. Oh ffs. It was a typo. I use the number pad. I've also let my nails grow out. I'm so not used to typing with long(er) nails.
  14. Them: hi how r u? Me: Oh today has been a really bad day. First I had to take a shower and wash my hair with this really horrible shampoo, then I had to do my nails but I couldn't decide if I should do them in this gorgeous shade of burnt sienna or the vivid red so I chose the burnt sienna but it really clashed with my dress so I had to redo my nails all over again and then I changed my mind about the red dress I was going to wear and picked the black one instead which meant I had to change my shoes and then I was late for work and the boss chewed me out and my car had a flat tire on the way home from work and I burned dinner because I was so upset my boss chewed me out so I had to order out and now I'm just exhausted. How r u? *crickets*
  15. I don't go to hardware stores to buy groceries or clothes. Even so, if the store doesn't have at least some visual appeal, regardless of what I am shopping for, I won't go in. Although, one would expect a hardware store to look a little bit "run down" if they've been in business for very long. But it better be clean and tidy or no sale.
  16. At least you got trick or treaters. We haven't had any in almost 20 years. But since we moved this last time, I'm hoping that will change.
  17. If the store isn't attractive, customers are less likely to enter, or make purchases. I've been an SL resident since 2004. I had a strong dislike for X-Street. What little I did purchase by that method was from the Boutique. I will always prefer making my purchases in world. That's not going to change.
  18. I'm sorry to hear that. I wish more people cared enough to make the majority of their purchases in world. I think people have gotten far too used to being able to order things online (Amazon). I much prefer to support the local businesses. I tend to view my SL purchases the same way with local meaning in world. SL just wouldn't be the same if everyone closed up shop and went MP only. Many stores are beautifully crafted and the sims are wonderfully decorated. A joy to behold. It would be a huge loss, imo. At that point, I'd probably leave SL permanently. Sometimes change isn't for the better.
  19. As some who uses the MP as a catalog and makes the vast majority of her purchases in world, I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
  20. This reminds me of a letter I had notecarded and ran across last night while cleaning out inventory. It appeared in the Times Picayune after Katrina. It's not just South Louisiana.
  21. Oh hello. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Native_American_Heritage_Day
  22. For many years I was baffled by those who were offended by my saying "Merry Christmas". They would insist it was offensive and I should say "Happy Holidays" instead. To this day I have never said Happy Holidays and still say Merry Christmas. There is nothing offensive about it. They just chose to be offended. I don't think that those who are saying Merry Christmas to you are just saying what they think you want to hear. More likely they are saying it to show they respect your beliefs and would not presume to "offend" you by saying Happy Hannukah which is their beliefs. It's simply common courtesy. If someone I know is Jewish and they say to me Merry Christmas, I do them the same courtesy and wish them a Happy Hannukah. I do that with people I don't know as well. Depending on the situation, of course.
  23. I do but I'm still not going back to the team. The only thing I'm not familiar with are the mesh bodies and heads. Don't have the money for those yet anyway so I'll cross that bridge when/if I get to it. FS has improved a lot in the last 4 years. I rarely ever had any issues with it. So far so good this go around. I'm glad it's working out for you.
