In what way(s) is it harder to register for SL now than it was a year ago? Two years? Five years? Ten years? People who expect to be entertained for free and without making much/any effort to find something to do are simply lazy. Give me 5 good reasons why I should enable laziness. What you are asking for already exists. Once you get to the bottom of that page you are directed to go here: https://community.secondlife.com/knowledgebase/english/ Oh look. There's even one that tells you how to open boxes: -
Try logging in at Cyclops or another "low lag" sim like a water sim.

That already exists in world after you register, not before. LL isn't going to allow access without registering first. Do you know of any game that allows access without registering an account? I don't. Not a successful one. -

No. Absolutely not. I will never grant permission. Ever. No one has ever been allowed to connect with my pc using TeamViewer and no one ever will. I get the appeal to Sasy's idea but it won't fly. For most it will have the opposite effect. They will never complete the process because there are too many hoops to jump through before they can ever log in. Which means there isn't going to be many (if any) new accounts to retain. Games give you the option to either do the tutorial(s) or not AFTER you've created an account, not before. In this one respect, LL/SL should be no different. The idea would be to make the sign up process more appealing, not more tedious. -

Might have something to do with the fact there is a Globe Theatre in operation today and they do more than just put on Shakespearean plays? http://www.shakespearesglobe.com/whats-on -

I never did get to go see the Globe. I got to see a few images of it but that's all. I missed out on the reconstruction too. -

I just had this sudden flashback to working for one of the first (if not the first) modeling agencies in SL. In 2005. That poor girl had more than her jewelry hanging out of her rectal orifice. That was you? -

Makes you wonder just how many thousands of businesses there are out there that don't know their player customer base. -

Nope. Never heard of it. Holay... that's.... scary. Ok. I get the history and lit environments. Sort of. Never heard of digital humanities. No wonder the world has gone to hell-in-a-handbasket. -

What ever on earth for? I mean, psychology I can understand as SL presents a very unique and unusual set of circumstances but I can't see how SL would relate to any other subjects except maybe computer sciences and other such tech. What am I missing? -

Nope. Sorry. Never heard of any school specifically assigning Second Life as a project. But just in case it is on the up and up, here's a couple of good starting points: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Education_in_Second_Life http://go.secondlife.com/landing/education/ https://secondlife.com/destinations/learning This one hasn't been updated in a year but still useful: http://guides.ucf.edu/tandt/SLEducation -

Why can't people just say Game of Thrones? I would have known. Yes, I know the books are titled differently but no one talks about the books much. -
