I'm happy with it. Several very nice basic skins from a few of my favorite creators. I LOVE the nose shaper/applier! As usual though, and this is endemic to all of the Powder Pack boxes for all heads, there's always a couple of items I'd never use - things way too odd for me specifically but I understand they are trying to please a large audience so overall, it's a worthwhile purchase. I don't think I've ever been disappointed in any of the boxes. Only thing is I bought it for an alt, and forgot to buy it for my main and now I'm not sure I want to dump the $3000L on her or not since there's now a Laq box coming out and I just bought my first Laq head. Woe is me 🤣

Gosh I'm so glad to hear someone else say this. My main head was Simone for years. I like to use lots of others but my default was Simone. The update? Something was clearly different and I too could not figure out exactly what but suddenly my face looked younger, not as refined and sophisticated as it had before. I was incredibly disappointed. Wound up buying Piper which I'm happy with and I've gotten used to the new Simone but miss the previous appearance.

Now, for something completely different. And I do mean, completely. Alt number umm, who am I kidding I have too many alts. She's the one at the party last night. Photo has problems, was a quick pic but she's kyoot so who cares 🤣

I love Euphorics eyes. AG (Avi Glam) is also quite lovely. Those are my 2 go-too's regardless of what creator's head I have on.

Hopefully the next time G spins will be at a time more beneficial to our friends overseas. It turned out quite a large crowd, which was wonderful. I had a lot of fun, was a great time. I might even join the group again 🤣

Good morning, or afternoon, or evening or tea time - whatever! As a reminder Ghosty (or rather some version thereof i.e. an alt) will be spinning this evening at the Forum Cartel Hangout's office 2nd "Alt Party". The 1st Alt Party is a tale of legends going back to March 2008 if I have my date correct (terrible quality photo below). Party was held at Rioko's B's home It would be wonderful to see everyone show up tonight - but don't feel you need to hide yourself behind as an Alt! Just show up any way you prefer but kudos for creativity this evening 😉 I'm a bit miffed about that since originally he told me we had to show up as an Alt - and most of mine have been outed many times over through the years, so I dug one up that nobody knew of but gosh she was pathetic looking so I spent a fortune upgrading her, then he went and told me I didn't have to be an Alt :P. On the other hand, I left the Cartel eons ago as my main because SHOPPING took preference for group slots so I would have been banned from the sim, so there's that. Anyhoo - be there! Ghosty has sent a couple of note cards already and I'm sure he'll send another one or two before the party this evening. As always he's good for playing an interesting set of tunes! PS I am the Bumblebee below ☺️ and that is Lexxi by the bar in the dark long dress. Others are peeps long out of SL as far as I'm aware.

Been thinking about this a bit more. Looks I gravitate to: Strong, Edgy, Dominant. Serious. Unexpected. Haughty, Structured, Equestrian, Tight, Rock, Buttoned Up, Buttoned Down, Aggressive, Kink, Coy, Men's Wear, Pin Up, Punk, Pop Surreal (my alts mostly) Textures: Leather, Fur, Latex, Feathers, Zippers, Silvered Metals, Lace, Plush, Shaggy, Velvet, Shiny Colors: Black, White, Reds of all kinds (mostly dark), metallic tones, gray, Going through my Flickr I rarely deviate from this palette of colors unless I find a piece of clothing that just shouts out to me that it needs to be purchased in another color due to it's style. Or because it was a Gacha and it was the color I happened to receive and I liked the piece enough not to care what color I got from the machine. A Few Female Inspirations: Audrey Hepburn, Kate Bush, Madonna, Patti Smith, Courtney Love, Debbie Harry, Ann Margret, Marilyn Monroe, Bettie Page, Kristen Stewart Hair is a big thing for me as it seems to be for others here too. Hair might dictate a entire photo shoot if it's really interesting and editorial. This happens a lot if it happens to be one on the shorter side since I usually gravitate to long styles. I'll build a look on how the hair "feels" to me; like what era it reminds me of and then find clothing to finish it off. Or work it the other way if a skin applier has a particular look - like YS&YS has this great older Madonna inspired makeup that really does capture her from the 80's. I still use that one quite a bit, it's just so good.

fyi - the shape i used was one that came with another skin I picked up at Skin Fair, it's from DS'elles. Usually I use my own shapes, or the ones that come with the applier tweaked to my liking, however, in this instance, the one that was in the Session box didn't wow me. It just looked a bit too generically "Session" but this one has didn't look like every other avatar I see.

I had a great Twiggy/Mary Quant kind of pop art mini dress I LOVED but, alas, it wasn't mesh and just didn't fit very well anymore so I ditched it.

I'm far more fashion forward in SL than in RL. I could care less about clothing in general for myself. I tend to ruin everything I wear quickly, I'm hard on what I wear so I don't spend much on anything because I know it's pointless to even try. I wear a LOT of black; jeans, tops, bags, shoes. Black is good. Except when I had a bi-color red and white cat. That was bad with black clothing. But, I digress. I do love fashion as an art form, however, and can critique an Oscar dress with the best of them lol. In SL, I'm a clothes horse. I have eclectic tastes although I tend to wear mostly classic separates that mix and match well. I wear all black a lot in world too. I like putting together pieces that don't look like they belong together, finding that middle ground where an outfit looks like I picked up the clothing from the bed and floor after being discarded from previous nights of partying that I was too lazy to hang up or clean. Lots of boots. I like leather/latex/odd textures but aren't excessively revealing or, revealing but you have to really work hard to realize it is - I like for the imagination to be at work. I'm not big on accessories at all. Hardly wear jewelry unless I'm doing a photo shoot and even then rarely. I don't wear much in RL either, just my wedding band/engagement ring, one other small ring, same earrings every day same necklace every day and same bracelet every day. I wouldn't say I'm specifically influenced by an particular designer but more a mishmash of everything I see, everywhere. I work in NYC - and for me, being streamlined, and non-fussy is essential to my life, which carries over for the most part to SL, just in a more intended way.

The eyes were fixed and version 1.4 was resent yesterday. They seem to be working fine. FYI here's the strong face with the new March applier both available at Skin Fair. Love this head, and the aged look of this applier (double posted in the Vanity Thread) I've picked up several other appliers at Skin Fair and have tried this on the new face and everything looks fantastic and, the head is also working well. Both newer versions of Classic and Baby Face also seem to have been fixed and are working ok, at least for me.

Loving this new head from Genus. Yea yea I know the creator is still working out kinks on the HUD but the faces she's making are SO good and this one, may be my favorite now. Love the longer nose, absolutely a more mature appearance especially with this aged applier. I wasn't able to get into the sim that has Genus on it but the other sim is fairly easy to TP into now and you can cam over to purchase your items. I don't hide SL from anyone, if it comes up in conversation that's fine. Especially since I met my SL partner/RL husband (Ghosty, who some here know) on the original SL forum more years ago than I can remember off hand now. Geez could be like 12 years now 😮 All of our family and friends know the story of how we met as do some of my co-workers. I work in a branch of the design field, so SL wouldn't be that odd to anyone there and in fact, perhaps may now be more interesting as we're branching off into using VR for client presentations. I've shared my SL photography with many of my staff, who are always quite interested to see it. The women particularly can't get over the aspect of the avatar itself; hair, clothing, makeup etc. One of my co-workers actually had dabbled inworld for a short period of time as it turns out, but lost interest for one reason or another. And Ghosty DJ's inworld with a live stream online for anyone to plug into so he's not hiding much either. Both of us are relatively social with the people we know inworld too - we've allowed the lines between worlds to be blurred with the right people and consider several people we've met in SL to be good RL friends also. When I first started in SL, it was more of a secret type of activity - but times were different for me personally then too. Once I met Ghosty, I just didn't care as much to keep it as hidden since it became part of our shared history. Now, I enjoy educating people on the outside who may have the impression SL is just a sex based "game" that it isn't at all - I love showing them the beauty that is created here, the funky little places and my home, filled with all the virtual things I love. Anyone I do this with, comes away with an entirely different perspective than they had before.

I dumped just about everything older than when mesh hit and started looking good. All clothing that wasn't sized for a specific body type, prim items, etc. Ugly old hair. Furniture with poor animations. You get the drift. So pretty much if it was older than about 2016 out it went except for those items which truly had some kind of emotional meaning to me for whatever reason; gifts from friends/relationships and a lot of landscaping items because most of those still look ok enough to use. I still have over 65,000 items. Marie Kondo clearly never had a virtual home 😠

I don't even know anyone anymore other than a handful of oldbies. Heck, I'm not even in the group and haven't been in ages. Everyone is an alt to me at this point.
