  1. At the moment we are really waiting on the antivirals and antiretrovirals which they have been testing that have worked in the strains family in the past.. They just need to test to see how this virus reacts to them.. I was researching pretty hard last month trying to find any reliable sources that I could just to keep me out of ear shot from the media and to keep me busy and sain..I was following epidemiologists and virologists interviews and anything I could find that they had written.. Many of them were saying, The vaccine won't be what gets us through this.. It has to be the medication, the antivirals that can inhibit the virus from leaving an already infected cell or the antiretrovirals that will go after it to kill it.. Those will get us through until we can reach the vaccine which will control it..They have been testing them and last month said if all goes well,we could have them in 2 to 3 months from then.. So it could be next month or the month after when they have those ready.. Once we have a vaccine, they can handle the evolution of the strain and have another vaccine ready for future seasons of this virus.. Right now, since the vaccine is so far away,we really need the antivirals and antiretrovirals which are much much closer in reach.. Then we can start to fight back and whoop the crap out of this thing..
  2. Knowing how much she likes to shop and how much I like to shop and all we did was shop..I sure would..
  3. The more i think about it,the more I like my choice for saving me.......I mean US!!
  4. The percentage in the work force could have something to do with it also.. I don't know about anyone else, but I catch more illnesses from people at work than anywhere else..hehehehe
  5. I just see it as my family needing me to be productive and more positive for them.. Politics for me most times ends up with arguing and I just feel in times like this that, arguing is distracting and a waste of energy that could be spent best else where on something constructive.. I just see a lot of people all over the net on both sides arguing about politics right now.. people going on about the election or who's fault this is or that is, Taking shots at each other and so on.. I guess I was expecting something similar to how people were when 9/11 first happened and we actually seen a lot of that set to the side and people came together more.. Maybe it's that people have more time from being cooped up or something and getting really edgy from it.. Myself, I've still had to go to work and been able to get out of the house for 8 hours a day.. Well, until today when they put everyone in the plant on Furlough for two weeks..So I'm about to get my taste of it pretty good.. I may be jumping out of my skin and ready to get back there in a few days.. hehehe
  6. I'm been rewatching Last Man Standing.. I love when they do the skits with people from Home Improvement and have jokes in there referring to the old show..
  7. I always look to more local information than anything.. I haven't listened to what the fed has said in a good while unless they are actually medical personnel.. If i want to learn about the virus, I research virologists and people that have been dealing with pandemics and outbreaks and so on for a good while.. If anything smells political, I jump away as quick as I can.. Right now Local information has been pretty informative... Our governor just shut Tennessee down yesterday because of noticing that people were starting to head outside.. Where when he first asked Tennesseans to practice social distancing and staying home unless you had to go out.. We were doing really well, but they noticed a trend starting up at the beginning of the week and finally figured it was a trend by the time we got to Thursday..So he locked us down.. But while i was watching him talking about locking the state down, there was good information about what they will be doing and what they have been doing the whole time.. For me, politics has no place in my life at the moment.. Survival mode has kicked in..
  8. I know people around here that look like that when there is no crisis going on..
  9. I haven't gotten to use this in years!! \o/
  10. I was watching a couple of doctors talking about this just last night.. The confusion could be what is put on the death certificate.. Since it is mostly killing people with underlying health conditions, that the disease is not killing everyone in the same way.. So the reason for death could be getting split up when they give the reason for death on the death certificate.. We are going to have way more cases than deaths because most will shake it off like a flu, But the deaths could be showing less than they are because of how they are recording them at the time, basically.
  11. Here you go, even though it's a misinformation meme, it still made me laugh.. hehehehe "On a side note, Covid-19 is not the name of the virus, but the disease the virus causes which stands for, CoronaVirus Disease 2019 .. SARS-CoV-2 is the name of the virus which stands for, Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome CoronaVirus 2 "
  12. Our walmart put up signs one day when this all started, because people were hoarding so bad.. Then a friend told me that someone called their main office to complain..So they took them down.. They ended up putting them back up again..But,I just thought how silly to do something like that because someone complained.. I don't shop at walmart or really need to go into town for anything..We're pretty well self sufficient on the farm.. But it being a small town, word gets around quick.. The funny thing is,I know people that work in the stores and they say, it's the same people that are there every morning when the store opens.. I did go to Kroger last week, more or less to see for myself how it looked inside.. There was still a lot of stuff in there..No bread though, but it was later in the day.. But they've been putting it out every day,the same with toilet paper and just about anything that people were really scrambling for.. The people showing up every day must not realize the stores are not going to close..
  13. all our stores have put limits on the things people were hoarding..So they must have gotten together and to fool the stores..Now I can't find a bag of Doritos to save my life.. *Drum Roll Cymbals Crash*
  14. I came across these Mr Chicken cover song videos and can't seem to stop watching them.. hehehehe Somebody help me! \o/
  15. After calming down, I honestly believe he didn't realize how many people were going to be there.. Usually there are way less at those Sunday night meetings, because many call out.. But the past week they put up a notice on the door that if you called out sick to stay at home..Mainly because they were not risking them having symptoms. So everyone showed up, especially with everything else around us shutting down.. So I don't know.. I just know it freaked me out and made me really mad.. I should have just talked to him about it , but just couldn't last night..
  16. I felt like they acted like those kids in Florida on spring break. This is the number one thing that they say can help stop it and the first act they do when we get back is throw everyone in together packed like rats in a whiskey barrel.. All these notices we've been getting at work over the past few weeks about how the company is looking out for it's employees.. I feel like I just got back from the 1940's or something.. I'm livid as it gets.. because all it takes is one person to have it and we'll all have it now.. If that happens I'm telling my husband and and he's gonna go kick that managers ass. I probably won't,but I sure feel mad enough at him right now that I sure feel like it..
  17. I couldn't believe what went on at work last night..I was and am still furious.. The first thing they did when we went in last night was call a safety meeting and for everyone to meet in the break room.. It didn't dawn on anyone until a few of us started to say, You're not supposed to have more than ten people in a room.. They had everyone in the plant in the break room.. I stood over by the door by myself with it open breathing outside air.. a lot of people acted like there was nothing going on, but you could tell who was worried about it.. it sure wasn't the plant manager and one of the supervisors.. Then I see the same thing as if it's a normal day..people trying to get up close to me and talk..I just held my hand up and said you need to say what you have to say from there..I can hear you.. I've lost all hope of this thing getting handled any time soon.. maybe when they have it or their family members have it,they'll take it serious.. I feel like quitting my damn job right now after seeing such carelessness for the employees..I am so furious right now..
  18. Myself I am kind of torn at the moment.. Tonight I still have to go into work.. I'm happy we are open and still keeping peoples checks coming in, but at the same time worried about ,I guess going to work.. I mean it's 3rd shift and people are really spread out and most of our machines are one man machines now.. But a lot of people are in debt and if they are sick will still try to come in and work.. We have letters on the doors to the plant saying,if you've used a sick day to stay home,..if you are sick or have any symptoms stay home we will mail you your check.. things like that, but they will try to pull one over and sneak past..Just like they do in flu season or anything else.. So I'm going to be doing a lot of holding my hand up,That's close enough! I can hear you from there! But it's really hard to do when it's your friends at work.. Many of them talk about this pandemic, but walking through the plant because it's so loud, they get real close to each other and shout so they can hear each other.. Some get right in the ear of someone else.. I just hope tonight I see a bit more seriousness in communication with each other.. But I think it's hard for them also to treat each other as a possible infected person..it's hard with friends you see every single day.. But I am glad we are still working..because that means less time off before we get on the other side of the curve with this thing..
  19. I think idiocy and arrogance is what keeps something like this prolonged, where the spread was going on well before anyone knew it was spreading.. just think about how many people one person comes in contact with before they heard about it.. I know I was trying to count how many people I came in contact with and couldn't get past the first few days..then started to think of all those people and how many they came in contact with.. it adds up fast.
  20. I don't know, I mean good personal hygiene is big part of grooming and pretty important to us and the ones around us..Hair is like our body filter catching a lot of things floating in the air and that's what you lay on your pillow at night..Cleaning under the nails is more important than the top side of them.. Men with beards, I just picture the earths magnetic shield and solar flares and imagine all the things those are catching..hehehehe Grooming is such a big category of things and important in stopping a lot of germs and whatever else gets on us every day, making it's way to the inside of us... I understand what you mean by Styling your hair or painting your nails or doing makeup and things like that.. Those are not important.
  21. I just seen something where they shut their beaches down..
  22. Then there was this, which is good enough for me to call it quits..
  23. This guy always has the most interesting interviews.. This one has been very informative and educational to watch..I'm still in the process of watching it because it is pretty long, but well worth watching..I figured, this would be a really good place to share.. There is one part where they are talking about, too much emphasis is being put on a vaccine as the savior, which is going to be at the earliest, 12 to 18 months, rather than the drugs that are just a few months away that they have but need to finish being tested.. Antivirals that will help stop the virus, just like antibiotics that help stop bacterial infections.. it's just been really interesting so far and I think they can give a bit of a better picture of things.. Biowarfare Experts On Coronavirus (COVID19)- Dr. Gerald Parker, Associate Dean for Global One Health at Texas A&M, and Professor Andrew S Natsios, Executive Professor at The Bush School and Director of the Scowcroft Institute of International Affairs.
