How do you post something new in Trending when in My Second Life. All I see is where you can write a comment on somebody else's post. Is this a way for LL to control who posts what there?

I think this is more about LL still being embarrased that so many people DO NOT USE OR LIKE their official viewer. Its clumbersome, a resource hog, laggy, and is pretty much useless to a large portion of their user base. Thats why so many people still use Phoenix. They are bound and determined to "fix" the problem by doing what any corporation would do. Not really fix anything but get rid of those that are an embarrasement to them. Typical upper management that thinks it knows best. To bad thats not always the case. Just look at the corporate giants that are in deep s**t because their CEO's thought they knew best and could cram anything down the customers throat. Best example, Netflix. The CEO there screwed up so bad by not listening to the customers or advice that it is now used as a classic example of NOT WHAT to do in college business courses. But hey, the pinheads never learn from their or anyone else's mistakes. Its full steam ahead and d**n the torpedoes.

Might help if you uploaded .jpg files instead of .png files. They tend to be smaller size (data - not size) than png files which means they load faster.

Actually, all of you are wrong. As far as punctuation differences between UK and USA, there are virtually none. Here is how the sentence should have been constructed. "The concern of the research is addressed to Second Life, a well-known virtual world; and to open sim, a novel technology recently used by the public for the development of virtual worlds". Since he is writing about two different virtual worlds, the semi-colon should be used to show that Open Sim is completely different from "Second Life, a well-known virtual world." Notice that I did not capitlize "virtual world" either. "Virtual world" in this case is descriptive and not a name, therefore not capilized. The same rule applies to when it is used at the end of the sentence. The same rule can apply to "open sim". There is no virtual world specifically called "Open Sim" that I am aware of. Here again, it is a descriptive and therefore capitilizing it is incorrect. I may suggest to Casssey that he go back and take a remedial English education course to learn proper punctuation. It will go a long way in his finding and keeping a job when he graduates from college.

I would recommend 2 places; Hurley sim and Blue Water Mall. Hurley sim you can buy land and the prices are cheap. In fact, there is a small empy parcel right next to my store. You can then put your store in search since you are a land owner. At the Blue Water Mall, you do not have those rights but the stores are very nice and the manager is a really great guy. The same goes for the owner of the Hurley sim. I have included a Lm for my main store. You would also have more prim available for the small parcel. To test if its the viewers or something else wrong, I would suggest making an alternate, buy a few things, get alot of freebies and then see what happens then. If its the viewers on your computer then the alt should also have the problem. If the alt does not experience any problem, then the problem is probably in the inventory for your account. It has been corrupted some way. Probably LL fault but no way to find out. At that point, it may be necessary to delete everything in your inventory. Anything that is transferalbe transfer to your alt. Before you delete everything though, after transfering items to your alt, AGAIN check to see if the items you transfer automatically attach to your alt. If not, then the problem truly is your inventory for that account only. Continue transfers of everything transferable and delete the rest. EVERYTHING must go. This MAY fix the problem. Basically once it is empty, the server might RESET (read as move your inventory account to a different part of the server) your inventory since everything is gone. Make sure you logout and stay logged out for 48 hours. This is to give server time to cycle and LL to take a "snapshot" of customers inventory. Log in as your alt and transfer maybe a dozen items back to your primary account. Log that account in and see what happens. If it still happens then may be best to live with the alt. Notify all your friends of the problem and that you will be shutting that avi down permanently. This is just one idea. Doing the alt thing though will give you a better feel though of where the problem lies. Doing anyting more than that is your decision. Nothing guarunteed to work on this unless LL finally steps in and fixes it.

If you have enough proof of what is happening... LL can be held accountable if they do not do anything to stop it... doesn't matter where the blackmailer is, you are here in the states.... that makes the crime scene here.. not there.... if they do not do everything possible to help stop it... and its their "game" ... the can be sued as an accomplice or at least complicate in allowing it to happen....all it would take is probably one letter from a good lawyer and you will see that group of ppl disappear....

Your math would simply immensley if your prims were not such odd sizes. Always try to keep your prim sizes as close to round numbers as possible. If that is not possible, since we are dealing with metrics,is to keep your prims last digit ending in an even number. This will make virtually all of your calculations end within the number of decimal digits supported by SL. It also means a simple calculator will give you exact results. Try it, you will be suprised at how starting out with that small change will help.

there are vendors where you can do a split on commissions ... no big deal... and if its anything but scripts and clothing, there are holovendors that will do the same thing.... there is another solution though... give your SL business partner(s) land rights through a group which you own. They put down their own vendor that can do a split commission with their products. You do the same. When someone buys something from whichever vendor, you are automatically paid your commission. That way, you set it once and done. Once the "Partnership" ends, you kick them out of the kick group and return their vendor. Simple solution.

Your writing is disjointed and a little confusing for someone that says they go by the Oxford Dictionary. Perhaps you should focus more on presenting your comments better by using correct sentence structure and punctuation.

As I see it, the problem is not just having several different viewers. That in itself is not such a huge problem since newbies actually now first come in on a Linden run island with actual inworld helpers. As a newbie, you come in with the newest viewer. Its only after they come farther into the grid they pick up a different viewer. If a survey was done, I would bet its because of performance issues of the Linden viewer. It is a resource hog. ANY viewer completely based on V2 platform is a resource hog. I know. I have a computer that was ordered to handle all kinds of graphics, video, etc. I run AutoCad and SketchUp at the same time often PLUS have a video going and it handles all 3 very easily. Let me start the newest LL viewer or Firestorm and my computer struggles. So I use Phoenix. So here you have a problem that the newbies like SL, but struggle to run V3 on their computer and start looking for a solution. That in a nutshell is probably the biggest reason newbies are running anything other than the official viewer. Solution? Linden Labs needs to make a viewer that is not such a resource hog. It can be done. They just need the right people on the job.

The only problem with doing the "log in to another region" solution is that there is nowhere to find out the names of regions. What they should do is offer the window to type a region name in PLUS a drop down menu of 25 regions that historically have few log in problems. I have been in SL for almost 3 years and I cannot positively tell you the name of any region. OH wait, forgot. This is Linden Labs we are talking about. The company that prides itself on doing everything assbackwards and commen sense is not to be found.

As I see it. If Linden Labs is not going to go after fraudsters the ones that are defrauded should be able to buy a weapon, track down the one committing the fraud, and dispose of them. Just like in RL, vengence should be part of the game.

Word of caution for all you Linden Realms game. Seems like Linden Labs has done it again. There is a part of the game that can break your AO's or your avatar permanently from running certain AO's. Friend and I were playing it and we both got crushed in the cave several times. Last time both of our AO's got broke. Hers permanently including her copies would not work anymore. She uses Semotions AO. Mine was broken as well. Only difference I use Vista. My copies worked. We did all the usual. Took it off. Reset them. Nothing would work for her. Thank goodness my copies did work on my avi. So be careful. Avoid the cave all together or risk having your AO totally borked. Way to go Linden Labs.

This is a perfect example why there should be a death penalty. This woman once convicted should be walked outside and shot like the dog she is. I have no sympathy for her what so ever.

I took this survey. It was quick, easy, and not against any HIPPA laws or rules. In this case HIPPA only concerns itself with what information a medical caregiver or insurance company can give out about a patient or customer. Since there is no corresponding link between the survey (which you can take using your normal internet browser) which only asks for your avi name and NOT your RL name, then HIPPA does not apply. I highly recommend that everyone take this survey.

The smallest parcel you can rent or buy will allow 100 prim. Best thing to do is look in search for land then go look at it. A 64m x 64m lot will allow you typically around 900 prim. Just depends on how much you want to spend. All the land in SL also rents or sells for pretty much the same per sq. meter or cost per prim allowed. The biggest problem for those that live in the USA is the educational system. Lets face it, Americas educational system is now one of the worst in the world. I agree with most that in chat, errors do not bother me. It's when I see them on professionally produced web pages, newspapers, magazines, and the scrolling news you see at the bottom of many TV news programs. Even professional journalists on television and radio talk like a toddler sometimes. They say things like "the most best" or using the word "less" when it should be "fewer". It just really irks me to end. Make no mistake about it, I am a good old southern boy that grew up using the word "ain't", but even I know when it is acceptable to speak in my southern slang.
