  1. I want to find a face animator hud / AO - or persuade someone to create one. (I’d do it myself but couldn’t script my way out of a paper bag). Why is such a thing needed? Most of us these days have mesh heads that come with a range of animations. The huds that control these tend to be a bit clunky and lack flexibility. You can’t create your own animation sequences effectively. In particular, what I want to do is take the best animations from a series of heads that I own (Catwa, Genus, Lelutka, AK) and blend these into a series of sequences for different occasions. (In truth, I’m wearing a Genus head at the moment because it goes with a skin I love but I’m using Lelutka animations with it almost exclusively. They’re much better, IMHO) I’ve already extracted the animations I need (wear the head, right click, edit, contents tab, drag and drop to a suitable folder in inventory, repeat for all the other brands of head you own). I’ve also made sequences - such as chatting; flirting; sensuous; happy; etc. I’ve tried two approaches so far, both of which work up to a point but are fundamentally flawed: 1) Put them in a Zhao AO and use notecards - They do work as face animations and you can run your standing anims using the Firestorm AO or a second AO hud. This approach is flawed because when you sit on furniture such as a seat, bed, etc they stop working. And that’s when you are likely to need them most. (Kissing someone tends to attract their close attention - in an ideal world). 2) Create ‘standing’ animation sequences using the Firestorm AO which are actually face anims. This works and is dead easy because there are no notecards to deal with. You can still have your standing animations running by also wearing a traditional AO. But this is once again flawed because they stop working when you sit. So, I want a hud that will allow me to keep them running at all times - or at least until I turn them off. This is possible, because the head animators that come with the mesh heads achieve this. I also have a head animator from Chrysanthemum which provides ‘sexy’ face expressions which continue to run while on a chair or bed. (It comes with its own anims, but doesn’t allow you to add your own. They are all a bit ‘advanced’ and wouldn’t be used for a mere cuddle). Please note that I’m not aiming to sell this or load it with animations to then give it away. This is for personal use and once loaded with the anims taken from the mesh heads it would not be transferable. It might be something which a creator could sell to people such as myself, provided the customers were willing to load up the animations they already own. It might be possible to edit the Zhao scripts to adapt them for this scenario but I don’t know where to start. Does anyone know of such an animator already available? Or does anyone know where I could find appropriate scripts to create one? Or is anyone keen on making one from scratch?
  2. i have a mesh face spa mask, was hopiong to make a few spa facemasks i have the mesh, and i tried to rig to the provided Avistar head. but atlas's it didn't work well on my mesh head (catwa) is there a way to acess 3D devi kits for heads? ive not seen them before just wondering if anyone has any ideas?
  3. Just in the last couple of days my face on my avatar, has had this tv static like glitch to it. Is this due to the recent changes happening? Is anyone else having this issue? I have tried tex refreshing and clearing my cache. I have never had this issue and have been on here for a good while now (probably over 7 years). I can't get a good picture of it because you see it more with movement. Anyone have a fix? My internet connection has never been a problem, have always had a strong connection. It was odd though that a friend said she couldn't see it on her end I can only see it on my screen. Anywho, any help is appreciated thank you! Edit: I am running on a mac desktop. little older probably a 2015/2016 but always very well taken care, and cleared off unnecessary items and added image up at top.
  4. So, over the last few months I have had a few embarrassing hookups. Haven’t we all? The most embarrassing moments happen repeatedly on certain furniture. On certain adult furniture the built in facial animations deform my face ✨so grotesquely that it scares me. I am not talking about a little bit of a naughty scowl ... it’s as if someone put my pretty avatar head in a head-smasher, and the leftover facial expression is agonized, squeezed, and repulsive. 😳 Yes it is hilarious, in retrospect. No it’s not my imagination. Yes it’s truly THAT bad. I have not narrowed it down to a particular brand but- of course- it’s always when I am a guest so I can’t alter the issue without a buzz-kill conversation. Asking your hot date to maneuver through the settings to shut down the ugly “f**k faces” (especially mid-make-out-session) is never a fun conversation. It’s one of those moments so embarrassing that you just slam the computer closed and pray to recover from the shame next time you login. 😂 My questions: 1. anyone else ever experience the foul faced bedtime blues? 2. Can I prevent face animations from being activated without altering someone else’s furniture options? Some facts that might be useful: • I currently wear a Catwa Tala Head with Ammara shape by Wrens Nest. • Body is Lara (if relevant) •Most recently, after the owner switched off faces in the adjust menu of a piece of furniture, my actual facial structure was still contorted and messed up. It didn’t return to normal until I undeformed in avatar health settings in Firestorm. I never want this to happen again because it is ... simply gruesome. I want to stay pretty while gettin’ busy. Any words of wisdom? Hold the moral judgment, please. It took guts to come here and ask such a cringe-inducing question. Thank you very much for your expertise and experiences. 🍎The End.

  6. Hi there. Help would be much appreciated. I'm still new to SL and I have no idea what happened but my avi face just went white and patchy/glitchy. I took everything off my current outfit and put it back on and it is still the same. I checked my graphics and that didn't help either. I also tried to put my tattoo back on. And that didn't work. Please help. 😞

  9. I am trying to learn to build, things other than my square, boxy, houses. So, I am trying to build a wall fountain. Regarding the texture I am told to click on "Select Face". Easy enough. This is what it says: Put a check mark in front of "select face". --> Bottom face, color dark mossy green to black. --> Top face *Horizontal scale = 1.0 *Vertical scale = 0.2 Texture rotations = 90 Get out of "select face". My question, where the heck are "Bottom Face" and "Top Face"? I see nothing in the build interface referencing this at all. Thank you, very much.
  10. I have afew meshes. And those meshes have different materials on different faces like....a clock with metal material on case faces and glass material on glass faces. I join those meshes in Blender and upload to SL. But SL sees it as if one face/material. I want to make glass face transparent, but i can not select it separately since SL sees it as one face. All mesh goes transparent. What may cause it ? I joined different meshes with different materials in Blender and uploaded to SL before this happens for the first time.

I would like to create a listing of Bento Mesh heads and the priority of their facial expressions, mainly to compose a list of mesh heads that are compatible to products that need to animate the head / face as well. I came across this topic as it seems various head makers use various policies about priorities for facial expressions. Some even seem to use priority 6 for simple background animations, thus making it impossible to override anything by 3rd party. Background Info: I am Mo Noel from MoDesign. Some of my product (as many products from other creators) use facial expressions to give a proper visual picture of the product in use. For example if you put a gag in ones mouth, the mouth eventually should stay open. Before the mesh heads era, this could be achieved by standard SL expressions, like „express_open_mouth“. The options where limited, but they worked reliable. Most mesh head brands do not support these standard expressions. Actually there is no brand I know that does scan the avatar animations for standard SL facial expressions and transform them to the corresponding mesh head expression. This renders the head incompatible to many products that animate the standard face. For basic animations, there is a reference about what priorities should be used for what kind of animations. It goes about like this: Priority 0 Used for many of the internal animations which are intended to be overridden with an AO. Priority 1 Used for internal emotes. Priority 2 Priority 2 is a good choice for stands in AOs. Priority 3 poses while moving (e.g. a walk) or that should override regular standing poses (like kneeling, a hug or standing with a handbag), but usually walks, dances, sits and most other animations that want to override standing poses Priority 4 enforced 1 (lower body) restricted walks, to overpower restricted stands this could be a walk in leg cuffs or humple walk when loosing a shoe Priority 5 enforced 2 (upper body) this could be enforced poses that need to override enforced walks like handcuffs, that should override the upper body even while walking in leg irons, as a leg iron walk also would animate the arms. Also a neck corset should be priority 5. Priority 6 anything that is even more restricting then priority 5 and we forgot to think about this could be special furniture things, for example, where a body might be folded as tiny as possible to hide it, e.g. to simulate a magic trick (Yes, some AO makers violate these rules, with the effect that A others do as well or B items don't work as expected) Example: Handcuffs and leg irons: 1. Avatar is standing: Prio 0: SL standing animation Prio 1: - Prio 2: standing animation of the AO Prio 3: - Prio 4: standing with restricted legs Prio 5: standing with restricted arms 2. Avatar is walking - same animations but * animations added Prio 0: SL standing animation Prio 1: - Prio 2: standing animation of the AO Prio 3: * walking animation of the AO -> overriding any stands Prio 4: standing with restricted legs Prio 4: *walking with restricted legs overriding the previously active prio 4 stand Prio 5: standing with restricted arms -> still overriding the arms of the restricted walk 1. Avatar is standing again - same animations, but the * animations from above stop: Prio 0: SL standing animation Prio 1: - Prio 2: standing animation of the AO -> takes over from the prio 3 walk Prio 3: - Prio 4: standing with restricted legs -> takes over from the prio 4 walk, still overrides Priority 2 stand Prio 5: standing with restricted arms -> still overrides loose arms of Prio 4 stand For a head, we need something similar. As there is no SL preset overriding face expressions by Bento animations, we could use the full range of the 6 priority levels. As a first sketch, the following "Mo-Rule" could be an idea to discuss: Priority 0 used for minor 3rd party animations or things that really don't matter and should be overpowered by standard face animation Priority 1 used for standard animations/emotes to keep the head alive while no one else is doing something Priority 2 Animations that override standard emotings, this could be smiles talking head whistle smoking etc. Priority 3 same as Priority 2, but for 3rd party items Priority 4 enforced 1 special effect animations e.g. avatar gets electroshocked Priority 5 enforced 2 real physical enforcements open mouth by a gag closed eyes by glue, death or something (e.g. a zombie avatar or a ghost) open eyes, hold open by matches etc. Priority 6 anything that is even more restricting then priority 5 and we forgot to think about (yes, some really may say this comes a tad late, but better late, then never.) (and yes, similar set of rules would be great for hands and feet and tails and ears …)
