  1. There are quite a few places down along that southern mountain range that I would love to have, but I can't do anything during the day when they are releasing and back when I was trying at night, I was picking up abandons all over the place -- and it is really easy to exhaust the 5 tries when that is happening.
  2. I've skipped kitchens and bathrooms in many of my SL homes over the years. Sometimes I think I need or want them, but quite often I just don't bother. I'm pretty sure the biggest reason I've tried to design both into my Linden Homes is because so many others are doing it and so I wanted to see if I could make it work without needing a huge home.
  3. And immediately create a new avatar as you walk right back to SL. Yet stay away from whatever the heck caused that debt - though that is asking for some sort of changed behavior that likely won't happen.
  4. My suggestion is to walk away from SL and never look back.
  5. Okay, good to know. I just need to remember to try on many of my favorite hairstyles, checking the ears, when I do finally start to demo mesh heads.
  6. On to how I'm doing today: I must have been in the super deep sleep part the sleep cycle when the alarm went off this morning because I am still a bit groggy. The damn cough is still there and irritating, though doesn't seem to be quite as harsh as yesterday. I'm also a tad cranky because I have to work tonight. Somebody decided that it might be a good idea if the database engineers started doing the production installs instead of the actual database administrators - because they've hired too many idiots lately that just can't manage to install anything correctly even with copy/paste instructions. That means that I now have to work tonight to do a job that I was not hired for - and I most definitely did not get a raise for this added off-hours stuff. Hmmm, based on that last sentence, I might be more than just a TAD cranky.
  7. That is not the first time a super young child was arrested at school. Part of the problem with schools implementing their so-called "no tolerance" policies is that everyone stops thinking logically and we end up with this sort of crap. School officials and resource officers and police in general really need to go back to actually attempting to THINK about a situation rather than just reacting and mindlessly following their perceived version of rules.
  8. You will be able to change first name only, last name only, or both -- as long as the resulting combination is unique and not in use or has ever been used.
  9. Mesh heads do NOT include the ears? I've not yet tried mesh heads so I did not know that. Having to add mesh ears just means adding another color tone match issue. Total bummer.
  10. While I find most of the Trad versions a tad tiny, I still find them preferable to the Vics, which just feel like too much house to me. Since I find the Trads only a tiny bit too small, that is also why I find most of the exterior room add-ons for them result in too large of a house. I think the Traditionals and Houseboats are both at the top of my list, and frequently flip flop as to which I prefer. The Campers & Trailers are a definite third, as I still feel a bit cramped in them. The Vics are my current least favorite. While I think a Treehouse could be fun to play with for a short bit, I'm not sure I can see it feeling large enough. There is a part of me that would love a high ceiling open floor plan, similar to some of the older homes, though it 'might' feel too similar to the Trads and Vics. Then again, when I look around at the various types of houses out there on the Mainland, it still seems to me that true "houses" are used the most. I don't see a lot of Treehouses, Dungeons, Castles, fantasy styled homes, etc.... That seems to indicate that, despite what the folks on this forum might want, the majority of folks in SL prefer living in something that comes closer to resembling RL houses.
  11. I don't think it means anything. Some of the boxes had the same symbols in the picture for moving into the Victorians: https://www.flickr.com/photos/patchlinden/48979279922/in/dateposted/
  12. If the market falls much more, my retirement may be in danger of being cancelled. Or at the very least, it could get postponed a few more years - and I'm already pining daily for it.
  13. I don't think they used security questions back in the olden early days. None of my 2007 & 2008 accounts have them. After those accounts, I didn't create any new until 2017 and I do have security question/answer recorded for them.
  14. I had been mostly over that darn upper respiratory crud for quite a few days now when suddenly the cough reasserted itself yesterday afternoon. I'm back to living on cough medicine and cough drops again, with my chest & back once again sore from constantly trying to cough up a lung or something. That is what comes from leaving the safety of my house and going to the office or the grocery store.
  15. This is what someone told my husband when he lost his sister to cancer a few years back and I'm pretty sure that is the only way he got through the first few months. *BIG HUGS*
  16. At the Lake of the Ozarks in the Midwest, I've seen docks built up around some houseboats that are no longer able to run and permanently stationary. Granted, it isn't real common, but they are out there in RL.
  17. Click on the outside of the house in Edit mode. If it is a shell, you should end up with the shell selected rather than the house itself and you can find out the creator. If you end up with the house itself, then likely the color got applied while the bug was active and since the color isn't obnoxious, nobody reported it. You could also IM the owner and ask.
  18. So he was basically saying "need house please give". If only it worked that way. At least he said please.
  19. I decided that something most definitely must have been lost in the translation there.
  20. Many years ago, when I was talking to a therapist about being 'normal' she told me that normal was nothing more than a cycle on the washing machine. I repeat that to myself often.
  21. Not for me anymore. I've heard enough vile comments from people who are sure it is none of my business.
  22. And even if i do add a small dab of mayo to my tuna salad, the idea of the mayo itself being tuna flavored just really makes me gag.
  23. Personally, I think mayonnaise is an abomination from the devil, no matter how you slice it.
  24. Alwin is not a native English speaker. But hey, we haven't had the grammar police out in a while, so what the heck.
