  1. Ummm .. it might not have been the best idea to photo document your dilemma. Just sayin' ...
  2. It works for others. Maybe they've just trapped out Linden names?
  3. And here I was expecting a "Stop and Frisk" take...
  4. You gotta wonder if there isn't a team of nerds at Microsoft, watching all the pictures flooding in and taking SWAGs at the age. And half of them are either stoned or drunk.
  5. I would tend to believe it is the "cartoonish" quality of our Avi pics. I did the same with a RL pic from a few years ago. This is the result I got ... And yup, it's spot on too. (Thankfully it classified me as male too. LOL)
  6. See? I knew there was a reason for it, I just mis-remembered that it was advice, not rule. /me does the Egotist Happy Dance ...
  7. I don't know whether to feel young again, or cheated because I feel so much older? LOL
  8. I really want a "Yummy!" reaction thingy too.
  9. I had to go look that up to figure out what you meant. (American here; I speak one language. LOL) Lagom: Swedish word meaning "just the right amount". At less than 7K .. sheesh .. you really are dedicated to keeping your inventory in order. Too bad you can't bottle that and sell it. You'd be rich!
  10. Let me see if I have this right. Please correct any mistakes in understanding: Land Owner pays Object some amount of money (example: L$200) Object sends you 10% of the amount paid by Land Owner (example: L$20) Object records that 90% of the amount paid is now available for Payouts and Rewards (example: L$180) At some time in the future the Land Owner can command the Object to send some amount of L$ to a 3rd party recipient. For example as an award or some sort of incentive payout. The purpose isn't important, only that the Land Owner can command the Object to send money to someone else .. but only if that amount is in the "Payouts and Rewards" account. That "Payouts and Rewards" account is nothing more than a balance sheet that remembers how much was "deposited" .. and thus will only allow paying out from the current balance of the "Payouts and Rewards" account. In truth the money is going to come from the Land Owner's L$ balance .. because Objects don't have L$ balances or accounts. When the Land Owner "pays" the Object, the money is withdrawn from their account .. and immediately put right back in. The script in the Object though will immediately send you 10% of that amount and then credit the "Payouts and Rewards" account balance with 90% of the amount paid. It would really be a LOT easier to just have the Land Owner enter an amount via Prompt Box and not actually "Pay" anything. The script could then just send you 10% of whatever amount the Land Owner entered and record 90% of that amount as a credit to the "Payouts and Rewards" account.
  11. You are very much welcome. Best of luck .. and FULL SPEED AHEAD!
  12. Dig through the Google results. You'll find your answers. But yeah, I will add my own 2-cents now. It depends. If you are looking to make a living from being an SL Seller then you need to approach it as a full-on business. You will need to create compelling ad graphics and copy, package your products with everything people will need, and be ready to present a calm, placid, helpful customer service face no matter how insanely stupid the customer request. In short, you will need to amp up your game to a very high level .. because you will be competing against people that are true STARS in their field. But if you're just looking for some spare pocket change and don't really feel like exerting that much effort, what you put into the product line will most likely not be fully rewarded. There is a sharp drop-off from top sellers to the next level down hobby seller. Oh .. one last tip: Have a LARGE product line. I don't mean that you should make 100's of nearly identical things that only vary a tiny bit. I do mean you should have a grand imagination, flesh out the product line fully, and keep everything you post up to date. ching ching .. two cents worth ..
  13. Resurrecting one of my favorite builds .. and trying to summon up ideas for decorating it properly: Five levels, plenty of room on each one. My favorite though is the Planetarium level .. complete with orbiting moon: If anyone has any ideas, let me know and I'll give you a copy of the complete build just to see what you can make of it.
  14. A plywood platform, server boxes scattered around, a couple of teleporters .. and no, no dirty socks on the floor. But with that said, I DO LOVE the visually stunning and even emotionally evocative places that people build in Second Life. I have zero talent for making them though, so I content myself with being "Spartan". Thankfully I have some very good friends with absolutely stunning skills at decorating .. and a willingness to keep me from living out of a plywood cube.
  15. I went to Google and entered this query: "getting started on the second life marketplace"
  16. Here is where I brag about being male. With an inventory STUFFED full of all my ongoing product development, versions, weird ideas, dumb ideas .. and both pair of shoes .. I'm under 35K. Nyah Nyah!!
  17. Well .. I stand corrected. Ah well .. that's my first mistake this century. I guess I was due.
  18. I believe the two names in the group must also have Owner roles.
  19. Aww c'mon mum. Have a heart! Or was that sis? Auntie? Gramma? I forget, what are you again?
  20. Those that learn from a Volunteer / Mentor often become valuable members of SL Society. Those that don't? Become great stories for the Forums.
