  1. Why have you got some Anny? Sure what ever floats your boat
  2. Yes but there is always what I call "The Snob Factor" and that is those people who for what ever reason want exclusiveness. They don't want a house that is freely available because every Tom, Dick or Harry also has the same house/dress/hair/skin/AO etc You have a choice. Appeal to the 10L masses or up your quality and prices and appeal to those willing to spend over the average for content "because" it is priced over the average and by default, less people own it. To me, it speaks volumes that people who make and sell sculpted, meshed and rigged clothing items on a full perm basis do so because it's easier to sell the dream of success than actually achieving it even with the obvious skill these merchants have. There are thousands of "wanna be" merchants who lack the skill to create their own unique content so pay a lot to buy the pieces to pull together and make their own. Skin PSDs are a good example. Once over a skin designer in SL was a rare and as such successful merchant able to charge 5K for a single skin. Today resellers buy PSDs - tweak and develop their skills as they modify the PSDs and then sell them for 100L each. I am not complaining about these type of merchants as technically its no different than a builder buying textures to make and sell what they create combining their building skill with the skill of a texture artist.
  3. I talked to a number of the merchants over at IMVU. From our conversations, I got the impression that the majority thought that SL content creation was far more complex than it actually is. Maybe it was the coding aspect, cause they don't really seem like the coding type of crowd there. This was all somewhat funny for me, as the IMVU animation creation workflow is far more complex than SL, but way more limiting as to what your avatar can actually do with those animations. The biggest impression I got from them, was that SL was super expensive. They generally thought that you had to buy a sim to be a merchant. I tried to explain that it doesn't cost a merchant anything, if you want, and that IMVU was WAY more expensive for a merchant than SL. It is quite hilarious to see a community where content creation is actually way more complex and almost impossibly profitable, think that SL is worse for them. It's so lame though! When I logged in I thought "Ok....how do I move?" All I could do was click & jump from one chair or seat to another standing pose or something....and then I instantly got people laughing at me as I was cearly a noob..... If you don't have the latest "head" (??) or clothing and animations your a looser lol I don't know how that compares to noobs in SL but IMVU is ALL about communication cause there's sod all else to do except "pose" and "chat" Each to their own I guess..But I came from The Sims Online and later There.com so even if SL never came to pass I doubt I would have ever got into IMVU.com its nothing more than a glorified 3D forum.
  4. "I remember on SL Exchange forum, I mentioned that I thought the (then recent) trend of handing out good quality freebies, and price slasing in general, would have a worse effect than copybotting, and you would have thought I had advocated killing puppies. Everyone was in denial. Everyone insisted that the practice would have either NO effect, or a positive effect, and how dare I be so wicked as to suggest otherwise, and why didn't I recant." I (and MANY others) agree but for the very reason you described, people daren't go public for fear of being labeled a greedy capitalist. I recently wrote a blog entry on the subject of "The Cost Of a Freebie Culture" The problem iies in the fact as merchants, we train consumers on what to expect so if there is even 1/4 of the available content being sold for 10L or free then even in a healthy RL economy, consumers start to question "Why should I buy X product when I know I can find something similar for free?" In the current economy that sentiment is doubled or tripled. It effects us all.. I recall when I went to upgrade Photoshop and I was angry that Adobe had the nerve NOT to offer a discount when 90% of other online software and digital goods were offering discounts due to the economy. I took them to be greedy and mean....and it made me think, if I, someone who against the "Moochers Monopoly" was consciously thinking like that, then clearly in SL many people will be outraged at the nerve of someone selling content for more than 10L. BUT this is not just SL. The internet on the whole is a freeloaders paradise. Were once textures cost up to $15 EACH, today you find digital content freely available. This is down to the fact website owners have changed their marketing direction as they realise the domestic market is weak and reluctant so they offer free which draws the traffic in and then charge businesses (That have marketing budgets) for advertising space on their very busy website. Cant blame them... they have to make a living but it does have a huge impact on anyone trying to sell digital content. The internet is very new (12 years?) and ever changing...how it will look after consumer confidence returns is anyones guess.
  5. TRU Textures Ltd was established within Secondlife.com in 2005. Today, we represent over 70 independent texture artists and act as the licensed agent for several "real life" texture companies within SL such as 3DTotal.com Texturama.com Subdimensionstudios.com 3DRender.co.uk Ambientlight.co.uk and CGenie.com We are currently looking to expand our merchant base and invite applications from experienced texture artists and sculpt/mesh artists. Please review work displayed on this video a general guide of the bench mark of standard we are accepting: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KVK9Jud9_wQ The benefits of selling through TRU include the ability to offer your work on an extended license direct from our external website: TRU Textures Ltd Website In addition to Second Life licensing (in world purchasing) customers can browse and purchase textures (via PayPal) under two additional license types. Any World License Extended License Any World License allows customers to use purchased textures in other virtual worlds and grids much as they would within SL. This also includes SL which makes this license choice very cost effective if a customer frequents more than one virtual world. This also includes worlds such as IMVU.com and There.com etc The Extended License allows a customer to use purchased textures in projects not limited to virtual worlds such as game development, personal and commercial content creation for use in most applications and platforms with the exception of Open Source game platforms. Whilst artists are not obligated to sell under the extended licenses, we do encourage it. All royalties are paid in Linden Dollar (including sales from the extended license options) A full personal sales report for both in world and external PayPal sales is provided at the TRU website. We do not insist om exclusiveness. You can sell your own work from the SLMP and your own "in world" store. However, we do prohibit artists from selling their work from other in world stores (Not owned by themseleves) as we like TRU Textures to have as much unique stock as possible. Customers seeing the same textures in multiple locations in world is confusing for them and in our opinion, is counter productive for us. As your agent, should you encounter copyright issues, we are there to help and will act on your behalf to the best of our ability and advise you further if required. We run a Google Adword Campaign constantly bringing in new customers from all walks of life, real and virtual. Finally, another "Opt in" feature is the ability to have your work listed on the SLMP under the TRU Textures SLMP store. This is a great time saver for busy merchants. Interested artists please do not reply to this post. Contact Elizabeth Gallagher (CEO) at trugraphicsolutions@yahoo.co.uk with some examples of your artwork (watermarked please) OR Send LillyBeth Filth a note card in-world with samples of your work attached. If you have any questions please contact me directly Thank you.
  6. RE: IMVU.com I accidentally signed up for a subscription with payments taken out every 3 months. They took 25 euros recently from PayPal and I hadnt logged in for 3 months Naturally I cancelled the automatic payment via PayPal BUT I got an email instantly which was asking me why I cancelled, what areas do I think could be better, what did I like, what didnt I like and a whole ton of other market research questions. THIS is the kind of thing that impresses me. They are pro active about learning from their userbase and I assume if enough people say they left because of ABC then they would change ABC They are just so much more on the ball when it comes to promotion, marketing and generating profits which whether people like that or not, LL need profits in order to keep afloat.
  7. Yes sorry, I meant IMVU have a recipe for success. However, in relation to the comment on IMVU.com having huge disadvantages, that is a simple matter of taste and preference. SLs UI is very complicated comparatively speaking so I suspect that is why the retention rate is poor. IMVU UI is easy "because' its limited. Its quite literally a "point and Click" thing which I got bored with after 5 minutes BUT I am coming from years of being used to a SL environment. If i was coming straight off FaceBook or totally new to 3D chat worlds (only uses text bases chat rooms) then IMVU would seem very "exotic" as it offers a simple way to allow you to create a virtual persona and still chit chat with other people. Add the ability to play your own music into your own virtual house and it must seem very high tech and unique. Imagine an IMVU member logging into SL for the 1st time? It must seem daunting, over complicated and frightening, I imagine they would run back to IMVU quick sharp. So for a pure "Social, dress dolly and have cyber sex" user....IMVU is the obvious choice, at least on first experience. It depends what you want, what you have already experienced and what you expect when it comes down to which is the best But from a business POV IMVU know how to generate income and as a merchant I have to take my hat off to them for that alone.
  8. Yea I know I couldnt (And can't) understand why they couldnt at least offer some kind of incentive to try and get people back on the land wagon again but it seems they have focused on the lesser fee of premium account payments by marketing a free Linden Home. Personally, I think it would build a better creed of members if they offered a free unfurnished 512 plot of land as I got when I was new. It was on this land that i started to play and experiment with prims and applying textures and later, opened my 1st store and then I paid to extend the land more and more until I was able to afford 1/3 of a sim and then eventually buy an island. But that was pure business and if you can cover the overheads with the sales revenue then thats fine BUT to own an island just for kicks at $380 a month is right at the top of "online game" monthly subscriptions. Perhaps the amount of freebies and freeloaders is at least part of the problem - it drives prices down and it drives consumers to "expect" freebies were once they expected to pay. IMVU.com have around 140,000 logged in any any given time. IMVU.com market themselves everywhere. IMVU.com does not have freebies. Their marketplace has no platform for them. In short, if you place something on the marketplace you literally can not price it for free. One incentive to pay for a premium account at IMVU.com is the ability to become a merchant, you can't do that with a free account and as such, by paying for premium they also verify your ID by way of PayPal and email. You also have to digitally sign to say you have read and agreed to the TOS for being a merchant which includes understanding copyright and how to avoid it and the penelty if you choose to ignore it, which in theory at least, increases the quality of merchants and reduces copyright violations (Again, in theory) IMVU.com's client is browser based (something that LL looked into 2 yrs ago) and as such they have no limitations to how many people log on at the same time. SL's client cannot manage more than 80K at the same time (Dont quote me on the exact figure) so LL cannot be as aggresive in their marketing campaigns due to technical limitations. I don't like IMVU.com, you can't compare the two platforms, SL wins hands down when it comes to the virtual experience but it seems they have a recipe for success.
  9. Well, it's true "drama" does drum up traffic. I am not a much of a forum dweller because of that really. I tend to have the belief that the internet and associated anonymity that comes with "User Names" can and often does bring out the worst in humanity. And I include myself , although my RL identity is easily found on the net and my SL name is displayed as my real name, Liz Gallagher. I prefer this because I think as a business owner (not just SL related) it's important to display who you are and in my case where you live. SL however is about "hiding" who you are, even on an innocent level by way of fantasy. This in turn can encourage people to not feel accountable for things said to other people whether in IM or in a pubic forum. Its very similar to road rage. We dehumanize others and only see the "car" and not the breathing, feeling living mother, daughter, father or son at the wheel. Very few who flick the finger or honk the horn would so much as raise an eyebrow in a face to face situation where one has to look another in the eye. Facebook, perhaps ironically, is generating a lot of evidence of peoples lack of social awareness as more and more people report of being victimized or bullied. I personally have had a massive fall out with my Sister on FB once over something and nothing which I am confident would not have took place had we both had the benefit of facial expression and tone of voice. There are a hand full of exceptions to the rule of course. Chosen Few is a person who has been an active member of SL forums for many years. He was always there to help and never "got down and dirty" with anyone nor did he partake in "cheering them on" by adding comments like "Grabs popcorn" Human nature is always more interested in negative news. Newspapers and glossy magazines are glued together with tabloid exaggerations, half truths and total BS and we know its probably not 100% accurate when we read the headline but it still makes for a good story and THAT'S the reason we love to watch a good witch hunt or bitchy slap behind the safety of our PC monitors and thats why heavily moderated forums tend not to be the most active. EDIT - After thought. Heavily moderated just means you are expected to behave as you would if you were in a public place with real people in real life. We wouldn't sit in a doctors waiting room ranting and raving, bitching and BSing because a) People would think you were insane and b) You would be asked to leave! lol
  10. Hi, Sorry I didn't read every reply but I am happy to share my experience of land stores V SLMP I have been trading in SL for 7 years and on the internet (external licensed textures) for 2 years. Few factors to bear in mind. 1) We sell textures = texture shopping in world has ALWAYS been frustrating at best so it makes sense that people would prefer to browse online and LAG free (Which is why we opened our own website 2 years ago) 2) Animations MUST be previewed in world and I suspect the same for skins and clothing I could be wrong and I am aware you can add a demo item to your listings which I am sure would help the sale of SLMP items but it plays against the in world stores traffic and sales. In world sales and indeed traffic has been slowly declining for 3 years. Traffic prior to the start of March was around 2300 daily. Its dipped since then. Bearing in mind a lot of our customers browse our website rather than stand in the store clicking laggy vendors and then they can take the product ID number from the website and type it into our search terminals (in world) and TP direct to the vendor. So we loose "browsing" traffic due to this. How much I don't know. Sales have been stable from the in world store for 18 months but traffic took a hit at the start of March (sales hold the same more or less) I find many people visit the store because they see textures on the SLMP Most of our customers (in world) find us from the SLMP or word of mouth. I have got to the stage were I am going to look at the profits generates just from in world sales and weigh them against the £280 a month I pay for my island because it seems pointless holding onto an island if people prefer to use either SLMP or our website. (Not sure...its more complex than that I guess) You cannot compare sales and traffic to pre 2007 - pre the recession - pre the freebie hunt mania - pre the novelty of SL wearing thin. SL by default falls into the "disposable income" bracket of household funds and as such is hit very hard. How many people can justify or indeed afford to rent a virtual island in the current economy? (I suspect this is why LL are focusing on the SLMP more now as they realise trying to sell niche hobby type content (virtual land) in the current economy is void. You could argue (and many do) that they could lower the prices but I have no clue how much it costs LL to run servers so I guess they figure they can't afford to rent land cheaper than they do. SL as an economical platform is constantly changing both internally and from external factors. Its hard for most people trying to make money in virtual or indeed real life and each time the media reports another negative financial story, consumer confidence takes another hit and people start watching their purse strings.
  11. Where's "Team **bleep**? Two Twisted Black Peas in a POD""?! -- The fighters of the good (but idealistically "out there") fight?! (Sorry personal rant there) A lot of our customers come from IMVU so thank you for bringing this to my attention. I had thought IMVU were on top of things like this because when you sign up to be a merchant they make you read a contract and sign it which goes into copyright and how to avoid it and what happens if you chose to ignore it (loose account funds etc) But since then I have been contacted and told that the owners of IMVU give less of a s**t than LL does! (their words not mine) I think IMVU losers (not the real merchants) see SL textures as a mark of realism cause naming them "SL Textures" like just because theyre were taken from SL means they MUST be good is a bit of a joke...and an insult at the same time.. "SL Textures" comes over like SL is a "game" created and owned by a game studio which of course it aint... Anyhow, was bound to happen and prolly has been going on for months if not years in secret .... I logged in once to evaluate the potential... and I was left in awe at how lame it was as a platform I just dont "get it" but apparently many do cause they have more people logged in in any one time than SL ever has or can due to technical limitations ( i think) Still, I value IMVU merchants as customers... you have to know 3D meshes to make and sell anything there so it must have some talented people behind the scenes as well as the "dib dobs" like these losers.
  12. Create 1 prim cube. Texture it fully in a 100% transparent texture (the SL Library in your inventory will have this type of texture) Make it as thin as possible so it look's like a piece flat plane. One both of the two sides of your flat and fully transparent prim, apply your plant texture. **Adding a transparent texture to the entire prim ensures no "edges" are seen on the prim /sculpted plant** Duplicate the flat prim (now textured with plant texture on 2 sides) and rotate it 90 degrees so you create a star shape if you were to look down on top of the prims. Link the 2 prims. OR buy a sculpt map and slap your texture on that. Zero texturing or building skills needed. But: Sculpted things can be ugly until they rez like ugly alien weird shaped blobs until the they "pop" into their desired shape.
  13. Porky! aaaww I recall so few SL names (my age in RL!) but I know yours.. yes it will be 8 years... after I wrote that post and went to RL things I "literally" had to count my fingers as I went through the years then realised it was not 7 as I had written but 8! That says it all really..when you loose count. RE business. Yea its been a bumpy ride (as you probably know) and a lot of lessons have been learnt the hard way but I like to focus on the fact I DID learn. After all evolution is a series of mistakes and trials and errors that are learnt from. The game thing.. its not a paid career but I am hoping it will be in 6 months. We have some exciting opportunities ahead so *fingers crossed* Sorry for hijacking this thread guys...I will bog off now
  14. My account (This one) was created in April 2004, so 8 years old this April. I not only feel old I feel alone and like I am getting left behind as SL and technology moves on so fast. 3D and mesh is not something one can learn in a week. It has taken me 4 years to learn making 2D textures! SL was only ever a "fun" pass time for me for 18 months. Now it is pure business and the long term problem with that is when you stick your head in Photoshop 8 hours a day you loose track of SL and people. When I was a noob we had a plain ugly skin, no walking animations, hair made via the "wig" (no prims) clothes that were made IN WORLD (lol) in fact back then people had stores selling clothes that were made entirely "in world" I imagine a lot of people don't understand what I mean by that perhaps? I mean you go into "Edit Appearance" and hit the "Make Shirt" button (If its still there?) and a white shirt shape is applied to your avatar and you literally texture it in world with 2 x 2 an usually no tile textures that you could not repeat or add creases to or do much of really... The end result is an ugly ass shirt ...But back in 2004 people actually created stores and sold clothing made that way because there were only a small % of SLers who had and knew how to use 2D software. Hair was static (no flexi) and if you wanted curls your head would have 1500 prims on it which would in most cases crash a sim as you TP in. Skin designers you could count on one hand and as such were very very VERY admired and their wares highly desirable. "Second Skin" was the oldest skin designer I paid 10K for my fist skin and felt like a princess when I applied it. Now you can buy the same quality skin from over 2000 merchants for 100L and the "wow factor" is more of a "blah...it will do" Yes, I recall the time when people could rate you in world and it appeared on your profile. You could be rated for creativity, appearance and I think also helping people. The problem was people would neg rate you just for the Hell of it or because you accidentally "bumped" them (which back then was something you could abuse report people for believe it or not) so LL removed that feature. I remember talking to strangers that you bumped into here and there was normal. There were no direct TPs, no one had the ability to have people TP into their store or home you could only TP into TP Hubs which covered a large area of land. This meant land parcels that were positioned close to a TP hub were highly desirable to stores and were very hard to find and if you did happen to find a parcel you would pay 50 times the normal price for that land. Another thing that store owners did was to try and buy land close to or next to an already popular store that had high traffic in hopes that the visitors of that store would wander into yours. My first store on a 2048 parcel developed reasonable traffic so my neighbors would build very very high signs that could be seen over the walls of my store. I learnt quickly that having a roof on your store was not good for business as people who flew over your store could be attracted by the goods inside IF they could see them. Putting a roof on your store just made it another roof to fly over. (Impulse purchases only happen on goods customers can see which is also why I never had a 1st or 2nd floor... no one will go out of their way to LOOK for things to buy) Anyway, I could babble on but instead here are some screenshots of 2004 - 2005
  15. Oh FFS guys. *Groan* Every single blog post LL does about almost anything invites the same old moaning and whining and bitching..the internet truely does bring the worst out in humanity doesnt it? I wonder what % of these same bitchers would act and speak the same way if facing the CEO or indeed any person in a RL face to face, eye to eye situation...my guess is less than 1% Okay those moaning about how they paid for premium JUST to gain access to this game thing...do you also walk around the January sales whining to the RL store staff how a sweater/jacket/trousers/ etc you purchased 4 weeks ago is now marked down in the sale and how unfair that is or how "I only purchased that *blank* because I liked it now EVERYONE will be buying it at discount!!" Thats life - both on the net and in the high street. To those moaning that the CEO of LL used to be involved with EA GAmes and "THE SIMS" and this game is competing against the merchants in SL...try thinking outside of the box or you limited imagination. This is THE very thing that draws new people to SL and new people means new money into the economy. The two main issues that effects new member retension *spelling?* is: 1) People log in for the first time and then think: "What now?" 2) People are baffled by the UI it IS quite a steep learning curve compared to most other online games and platforms. So this offers some kind of game type interaction whilst also allowing newbies to gain experience with the UI and the theory is once they are comfortable with how to move and navigate the IU and get bored with this entertainment they notice they have L$ (from playing the game) and then start to explore other areas of SL perhaps to develop their avatar ID , own their own land with privacy, buy a pet, have simulated sex and so on and so forth..... Long story short? "It injects more user to user transactions long term" Its really not a rocket science business move... it has no interest to me but if I was new then yes it would and I can see the bigger picture.
  16. oooo - ouch... :manvery-happy: You may need to leave more of a teaser than that and is that the only "qualification" your business partner needs to have? "Must be online a lot"
  17. My account is over 7 years old, my business over 5 years old so I have seen the highs and lows of SL. The highs was when we had no recession and SL was new and shiny and people were not thinking about every single purchase they make or whether they can get it cheaper. This has caused merchants from countries who have a better conversion rate (China Japan etc) be able to undercut prices of more western countries because $10.00 to someone in China is the same as $100.00 to someone in the USA (don't quote me I am guesstimating) There is no blame or single reason, the RL economy has had a major impact on countries, people, jobs and businesses but, and I hate too say it, "If it was me..." I would reduce the tier on land like NOW because SL "as a game" is very expensive if you want to "play" it with all the bells and whistles, and that means owning an island or a decent piece of land. SL and associated fees falls into the "desposable income bracket" and due to the awful RL economy people will drop that $300 a month luxury habit like a hot potatoe. What alarms me more than anything and displays a "sign of the times" is the lack of response to this once very much anticipated report. The lack of interest to me says people don't believe what is written or they no longer care. Whilst previoulsy its true to say the majority of responses to blogs like these were anger and frustration, at least that was an indictor of someone who still cared enough to make comment. When people stop bothering and caring, they stop trying and THAT is my biggest concern with this blog. Not whats detailed in the reports but the lack of response, period.
  18. Ravalgo, Please remove this image from your “free website” http://www.freecustomtextures.com/Images/Floral/Shrubs/ThornShrub(Alpha).png It violates my clients copyright (3DTotal.com) You are not helping people by allowing them to unknowingly use pirate textures. You will be receiving official communication regarding this and other images you do not have the right to distribute. If you want to draw traffic to you website to gain finances from Google Ads or offering marketing slots for a fee, go and take your own photos and actually make your textures instead of using other peoples (against their TOU) ....Seriously, that is so "SL 2006"
  19. Oh, goodie! This is indeed promising news and much needed for the 1000s of people who are depending on new user growth for SL and to eventually perhaps have log in numbers that IMVU get as a result of the 1000s of adverts on the net. I hope what ever technical fixes need fixing to allow stability to cope with 100K users online is at least near the top of the "to do" list Welcome, good luck and Merry Christmas.
  20. ahhh. Hmm OK, so maybe it's not a restricted area system with a view to encourage people to "upgrade" Ah well, time will tell
  21. I logged in last night. Despite the fact this is still in beta the speed at which textures and content loaded was lightning fast. Navigation was smooth both walking and flying and this was on mainland which with the current client is an area I avoid if I can due to the nightmare LAG situation. I am from the UK, use Safari browser and run an iMac. I couldn't test it with Firefox browser. I have written a blog post with screenshots here: http://trutextures.blogspot.com/2010/11/second-life-web-browser-beta.html
  22. Well said Harry. It's common sense that those who are "failing" ( and that could mean many different things for many different people) are going to be the ones ranting and screaming. If you look at the market place reviews, the majority that bother to leave them are negatives because we "expect" good and so are not overwhelmed with emotion when we get good. Its only when we get "bad" that we tend to need to vent negative emotion. That is human nature and as such the forums and blog comments can not be seen as a true reflection for how the majority of SL users feel. Those that are managing, coping, dealing, are too busy and pre occupide to spend their entire waking hours complaining for they have nothing to complain about. The angry spats and "cut throat" tactics we see between SL merchants mirrors the behavior of staff in all RL companies currently trying to survive in this troubled RL economy. Staff in RL companies are insecure over job losses and pay decreases and as such they back stab and blame their bosses and work associates, complain "if it was MY company we wouldn't be in this mess" My partner used to love his job but the environment has become to competative between himself and his work associates they are telling tales, tripping each other up and generally scratching each others eyes out in the hopes of securing another 6 month contract. They have to re apply for their own jobs twice a year and this causes much speculation over "who, when, why and what" is going on "at the top" SL is a luxury I always expected the RL economy to affect the SL one and those that made claims that SL would "boom" during a recession because in house entertainment historically gained in economic hard times, were naive. As a merchant you can "blame the game" or you can work harder than you ever have, accept less sales and hope to see better times when consumer confidence begins to return to post 2008.
  23. Yea, I'm ashamed to admit even after several years I've been in SL I still depend on the "camera box thingie" I suspect many serious builders dont use this tool anymore . I think it was only ever created for ease of use for noobs but once you get used to something it's hard to adapt to a new way. I don't build so I have no real reason to try using the keyboard short cuts for the camera but I totally hated the camera controls on V2 and it looks like they still exist in V2.2 I am still on V1.3 because of my exp with V2 but I am on an iMac and based on the issues posted above, I will be sticking to my V1.3! Glad to see people are more optimistic about this viewer though.
  24. Compulsary - as I said as long as its not Compulsary. I have never hidden my real ID I run a business i prefer to be seen as a real business. But again, that's just my opinion and my choice, I would never say " I love facebook so you can can go jump if dont!" I totally appreciate and respect your opinion and decision but again, to clarify I see no harm in the "option" People already using FB that don't know about SL won't have the same issues than those who are already in SL and don't use FB.
