I was right, you all are stuck up. Even when I'm nice, which definitely isn't today, I can't make friends...unless I allow some pervert to screw me...They have been the only ones who would talk to me lately. I think the more arrogant, smug and concetied you are in your profile the more friends you will make because people will want to be near you....to get some of your awesomeness.
  7. How would I find out about having my real life store advertised in the advertising rotation the second life web site uses? I am serious I have a store on etsy and I have a banner.
  8. someone taught me a trick it worked for me maybe you... how much is in your object folder? Create a new folder name it "old objects" (or some such to identify it ) then move all your object items into that folder and keep the object folder tidy. That actually hels me when I start to missin textures.

The idea that all of the males (or females) that do play online games are 'straight' in the worldview of the person who complained is not really open to question. It's ludicrous. I don't know that you could really use Facebook games such as Farmville for comparisons, but of the around 250 "friends" I have on FB who's RL gender I know for a certainty, among them women vastly dominate the number of men who play them, easily 10 to 1. How many of them play other games I have no idea. SECOND LIFE IS NOT A GAME

Under our Community Standards policy, real-life images, avatar portrayals, and other depictions of sexual or lewd acts involving or appearing to involve children or minors are not allowed within Second Life. When detected, individuals and groups promoting or providing such content and activities will be subject to sanctions, which may include termination of accounts, closure of groups, removal of content, and loss of land or access to land. There are three key aspects involved in these materials or acts that are in breach of the Community Standards: Participation by Residents in lewd or sexual acts in which one or more of the avatars appears to represent minors (or the depiction of such acts in images, video, textures, or text) is a violation of the Community Standards. Promoting or catering to such behavior or representations violates our Community Standards. For instance, the placement of avatars appearing to represent minors in proximity to "sex beds" or other sexualized graphics, objects, or scripts would violate our Community Standards, as would the placement of sexualized "pose balls" or other content in areas depicting playgrounds or children's spaces. The graphic depiction of children in a sexual or lewd manner violates our Community Standards. I'd say report it and let LL decide. Whew LL has a brain!

Regardless of what anyone may say, slavery/BDSM is not all about sex... you needn't even have sex to be a part of that type of relationship. So, if you haven't actually witnessed a child avatar actually engaging in or soliciting someone in order to engage in a sexual activity, I say mind your own business. ...Dres (Cue the droves of people who don't agree with me...) It might not be sexual, but it is in poor taste regardless.
  12. Right exactly, no avatar on SL should be fat, store fat or be anything but stick/bow legged.
  13. Staralien wrote: The ADs don't bother me. I understand completely why SL decided to have them...to make money. I would guess the majority of users have free basic accounts and what they make with other things, like fees doesn't make enough to keep them up and running, pay salaries, maintenance and acquisition of upgrades, etc. In any case, any successful business is always looking for opportunities to bring in revenue. I would rather see the ADs than to see SL shut down because they can't bring in enough revenue to make it worth staying open. They do not bother me, until I saw it on my android phone.. then its like HUGE and you have to scroll and expand and.. augh.. not cool

  15. Used to be, LL would send a real life bday to your email..... Now nuttin... sl bday? I personally just like to reminisce about how totally freakin board I was that day. The oldest resident I know is 8yo
  16. I am sure LL is exploring all options to keep the labs cash flow. However I disapprove because I am a paid member of SL. I didnt install a blocker and after a bit I've sort'a muted them. As I do not pay any attention to them much I have seen some web sites advertised I KNOW are not trust worthy....apparently LL does't care where it comes from as long as it comes..
  17. Trinity Yazimoto wrote: TheG0t wrote: Ps. Mesh is very creative and takes a lot more imagination then a PSD kit some one bought and hawked off as their own build....... Theg0t.. again, i cant let you say such thing. i dont have a lot of esteem for the merchants (i cant call them creators bec they dont create anything, they just assembly) that indeed, use psd kits or template kits and just change the fabric or the color on it. But for your information, the non mesh creators are not ALL this kind of merchants. A lot, a lot, CREATE. they do original creations. from nothing, they create from A to Z. Even if they can use sometimes some templates, they mod the layouts in pshop, adds things, and create their own fabric... And the more often, they create the whole outfit from A to Z without using any kit, bec they dont need any kit at all, since they are enough talented to make their own design.... so to opposite mesh creations, to assembled items, and ignoring the whole bunch of real original creations made without using mesh, is nothing but dishonest. I might want to point out that in fashion design real world there are not many who make the fabric by hand cut and sew and embelish all with their own materials.... Does that mean they are not designers? But maybe you mean the people who buy the mesh template and dont even bother changing from provided texture.
  18. Caemlyn Witherspoon wrote: What happened to imagination? I will prolly get tarred and feathered and run out of town on a rail but I HATE MESH! I DO realize it is still in the beginning stages and has come a long way just in the short time it has been out. Mesh beats all the others hands down as far as looks, but wearability - it has a LONG ways to go. Mesh hair looks like globs of modelling clay layng on your head. The texture is great, but it looks horrible. It reminds me of the hair before flexi hair came out. It just lays there. Is this really a step forward or back? And as for female clothing....what a nightmare! I don't want to look like every other woman in SL. I want to look like me. I can't have big boobs IRL, so I have them in SL! (I could but hubby refuses to remortgage the house for a boob job.) I don't want to look exactly like the clothing makers. I want to look like me. I have even bought things that the maker sent along a copy of their shape so I could look exactly like them! O M G!I want to look like me Of all the mesh I have recently purchased 75% will not work. Physics are great...your boobs jiggle, your but wiggles, but physics with mesh? Forget it. Impossible unless you want your parts jiggling out of your clothes with every step. Kudos to all the wonderful clothing makers slaving over keeping up with all the latest fads and fashions, but for me, sorry but rarely does anything mesh work. I like jiggly boobies too..I design in both, but it seems no one wears flexi skirts. And its pretty split what I sell. The mesh shoes are nice though.. I would advise those as happy mediums you dont have to use your shape edit much. Also, I hear ya on the hair.... But I go someplace and htere is like 5 of them that look the same, only difference is makeup or tats and usually with that frown face and pony riding hips I did find that some mesh hair can be really lovely when blended with flexi.. so Dont give up on that yet.. I find most of the shorts mesh I have bought you have to make your legs far too thin. But its not going to get better, with teh mesh avatars..... it will be like a bunch'a clones walking around I think..
  19. thank you for your wonderful answer. I thought perhaps paying more for them assured me of a better quality, but .. wrong. I have noticed sometimes that even the demos of white do not show it until you texture it then its pretty bad. thanks again, I really appreciate your assistance and answer.
  20. I frequently purchase mesh FP items and have wondered, i have paid cheap and I have paid a lot of money but some mesh flicker across my screen, worse at a lower lod but even at 4 I get strange things happening, mostly big blurrs of color in pologramic (not sure if that is a word) blobs.... Is this something I can fix or is it a matter of quality (it happens with 99L FP and 12,000L fp) But not all... I've asked in some groups but I get laughed at or looked upon as if I were a three headed toad or just ignored.. not even sure if this is hte right place, so sorry mod if it isnt.
  21. Amethyst Jetaime wrote: Very impressive work and it is probably a window on the future of avatars but how far in the future remains to be seen. There are several things at this point that would make me not interested in getting one myself, and I am sure others may feel the same. This avatar appears to be less than 16 years old to me, Way to young. But even if a number of models were available reflecting different maturity levels, you are still going to end up looking like everyone else that buys the model you buy. I value the fact that my avatar is as unique as I am in RL. Now if you could control the head shape and features similar to the way the appearance sliders work to make it truly unique looking, and there was a very large selection of skins I might be more enthusiastic. I don't really want to have to click buttons to show expressions or emotions, while interacting with other avatars. I question if the effect is worth the extra effort it would take as well what the effect on lag would be. I don't think other people would notice it much in general, particularly subtle things and I don't watch myself so it wouldn't add much to my SL experience. Now if this could eventually be hooked into some type of controller that mimics your RL expression, that might be a different ball game. But I don't see that happening anytime soon Still, all in all its beautiful work and the creator is to be commended for pushing the envelope. I am like minded.. But, impressed nonetheless.
