This is very similar to Second Life's original slogan "Your life - your imagination." which has been long since abandoned. Same PR office maybe? The original slogan was "Your world, your imagination". And it had a subtext that you could OWN a part of this world. Yeah, those were exicting times, we were the pioneers of a new world, created by LL but owned by its residents. With a happy Pip Linden appearing in every media event to paint it all purple and yellow colors, predicting SL was only the first step in the future of 3D internet. And we felt involved as early adapters, we were part of the adventure that was taking place. Nowadays we are nothing more then customers. And not even dear customers, but mainly ignored customers. LL left us behind long ago, maybe at the moment they decided they did not want us any more as owners of the world, and change the TOS. The whole population was demoted it that point, we became paying customers in stead of owner. The underlaying message was: "Our world, your donation"
  2.   Oh Darling Linden :heart:  I will always remember the 'cYo Glasses Chano Texture' I could upload thanks to my Valentine.:heart:
  3. What I discovered recently is that an account must have been logged in to the marketplace at least once, before the marketplace does know this persons exists as an avatar. So ask MakingStrides AmericanCancer to log in, I guess that will solve the problem.

Not only will my name as a creator be erased from that item once they upload it, but also the uploading of mesh involves physics shapes and LOD settings that would take quite a bit of explaining. I sell full perms meshes as well, and I'm not going to sell my .dae files. As a creator of full perms items you are already an easy target for IP right infringments. WIth a mesh uploaded by you, you can more or less be sure that the possible infringments will be limited to SL, and its hard enough to control a big world like SL already. Now when you sell your .dae files this opens the complete worldwide web for infringments. One day you might want to consider to sell your meshes on other venues as well, to discover that some unknown person has uploaded them there before you... That is what I see as the main risk of selling your .dae files.
  5. Have a look at the marketplace in the category 'Building components'. What you want is a flexi skirt with copy, mod and trans permissions.
  6. Hmmz, yesterday I experienced the same with an alt. This alt has not been online for about half a year or so, so idea was as suggested above, that because of absence the alt was not traceble in search. Then I went online with the alt. I tried to offer frienship to my main avatar, this was not possible, the friendship button was not clickable. And for my main avatar is was the same, I could not friend my alt either. I could invite her in my group however. And though I had her in my group, I still could not find her in search, and still could not offer friendship. I think there is something going wrong in SL, some avatars just don't appear in search anymore.
  7. Porky Gorky wrote: Sometimes a partnership can work for years in SL but can still end in betrayal if one member of the partnership decides they have had enough. We should never grow too trustful of our SL business partners unless we really get to know and trust the real person behind the avatar, You meen like meeting in rl? That does not give you any garantee either. It happens in rl businesses as well that one partner cheats another. People from SL who I call friends are people where I experience I have to do with the real person behind the avatar. You cannot see much more in RL by looking someone in the face, then in SL by looking someone in the soul. I guess I'm just lucky with the people I meet in SL, so far I have never had any problems or conflicts about money with business partners. I'm not sure I would trust someone to take care of my copyrighted content, but in one way or another it is always happens the other way around, people trust me to take care of their content. I cannot think of one thing that could happen to me, that would make I would cheat one of them. The pleasure of working together, of sharing ideas and thoughts, of discussing designs, of being friends beyond the work, sharing joy and sorrow, those are all values no money can buy.
  8. The problem still exists. My parcels are free from objects now, so at least customers can enter my shops and see someting there, but the lag is terrible.

I won't get involved in any such deals any more due to that experience. I'm sorry to hear this happened to you, Amethyst. A hard way to learn who your friends really are... They made a bad choice. I believe they had been better off with working to together and keeping the partnership good, then with ripping you off, not only in morally.
  10. Couldbe Yue wrote: afaik, the gteam was disbanded years ago. if you've got a premium membership it might be worthwhile talking to support and seeing what they can do. otherwiselook at it as just another cost of doing business in here Ticket support had let me know yesterday already there is nothing they can to for me, it must be solved by governance team. Then I also contacted live chat today, to ask for information about when these guys actually work. They are not allowed to tell you anything about the working hours of Linden employees. But the frustrating thing with this whole LL support is: why is not somebody giving me the information do get here on the forum from other residents? Turning off 'objects entry' does not solve the grieving, but at least give me a temporary solution, so I can run a business in world.
  11. Amethyst Jetaime wrote: They have to be coming from a prim or prims somewhere up in the air. If you can find the source and return it, it should stop. If it isn't above your parcel, see whose it is above and enlist their help. Use the script info in the land tools to help find it or them. Sort by the owner's name. I have been looking for something in the air yesterday. But as soon as you come above the level where there grief objects are rezzed, you come into a muddy clowd where you cannot see a thing anymore. I did have a look at the script info... all objects of this own are named object and have exact the same size, at least those in my parcels. So I guess that the source is somewhere else. And that combines with how it started, some neighbours were already infected when it reaches my parcels.
  12. Zanara Zenovka wrote: Turn off rezzing and object entry, auto return on. Thanks, Zanara, that did the trick. I have some free parcels now. I should have asked here before
  13. They go through every prim, in buildings they just come through te roof. Only thing I can do is return the rezzed objects to the owner. But this does not help a lot, cause five minutes later or so, I have like 88 objects back again. They also appair on land where building is off or restricted to group.
  14. I'm in the opposite role as you, I'm the one who lists the pages on the marketplace, and make distributions to others. As far as I'm aware there is no way for you to see if your merchant still uses the distribution. It is just a matter of trust. Neither do you have any insight in the sales of the items. I sent my co creators financial reports every month by hand, because the marketplace does not provide these. I don't know if you receive an email when the distribution is cancelled, I never cancelled one. But my guess is that you don't. This whole marketplace is build without taking co creators in account.
  15. My parcels and all surroundings sims are victim of object spam. They fly, they flicker from blue to red, they make a terrible noise, and they multiply themselves. I have send AR reports, ask visitors to send AR report as well, but LL does not react. The situation is like this for at least 36 hours now already. I send a ticket as well, they did react but cannot do a thing, I must wait for response to my AR. Is they AR team actually working in the weekends? Of must I prepaire to wait it least till monday?
  16. I would do the same as I do now: create meshes, create textures, run some shops and have a good talk with a friend now and then. There are also some things that I would do different, I would hire one or more people to support my business. I could use at least a marketing manager, but also a business manager, a photographer, a machinima maker, an animator and a sound artist and a lobbyist. So the time I spend now on marketing and adminstration and such I would spend on communicating with people who are willing (and paid well) to add their own creativity to my enterprise.
  17. And this? That is how my region looks at the moment. I reported it als land encrochment -> objects. But it is as well: unfair use of region recourses object littering (the object go from red to blue and back all the time) visual spam audio spam (they also make a terrible noise) It is like this for hours already. I AR-ed, filed support ticket.. the only thing that happens is that the pile objects keeps on growing.
  18. I started more then five years ago. I rented a small piece of land for 150 lindens a week from a guy who had a big parcel on mainland. But soon enough I needed more prims, so I asked my landlord if I could rent some extra prims. That was okay by him. And every few months I had to ask him for more land or more prims. After a year I had two well running brands on his land. And then one day he told me that he was on the max of what he wanted to rent from LL, there was still a number of prims available to grow, but after that I had to look for other solutions to be able to grow. I doubted a long time if I was going to move one of the brands to another land to be able to grow both, and which one had to move then. I realised that I had become very dependent of my landlord, and moving was about the same as throwing away all your PR work for the brand. Then one day I suddenly saw a parcel in the next sim, that was bordering one of my two stores, becoming for sale. I did not have to hesitate for a moment. I became premium member and bought the land. For this was the only change to be able to grow my business without having to move one of my brands. It was one of the best decissions I made. Not because the premium membership has so much advantages, but because independency is important for your business. I had a good relationshop with my landlord and I fully trusted him, but still you never know what can happen to someone, making that is not able to pay tier. When your landlord fails to pay tier for whatever reason, your business will be gone. And its not only the building and the merchandise, but also all energy you invested in spreading your landmark. So my advice would be: don't depend on an estate-owner, but find a nice parcel in a mainland sim that has still plenty room for future growth. When you become a premium member you get your first parcel from 512m with 117 prims for free. When your store goes well, you can decide to grow and buy your next parcel. I saw you in the mesh forums so I suppoose you are going to sell meshes. I think for meshes it is important to have an in world store. Though most sales will still come from marketplace, there is also a percentage of customers who won't buy from marketplace unless you have a mainstore where they can go to see the objects rezzed in world.
