  1. Hi Colette, In addition to the great suggestions Ella gave, it would help if you posted your computer specifications and information as to when Second Life crashes. Are you able to get inworld at all or is SL crashing while loading or indeed can you even get to the login page? What error message appears when you crash? If you can get to the login page, select Help > About Second Life and copy/paste your computer specifications from the window that opens. Nyll

  4. You are ghosted inworld. If on a private region, ask the estate owner or manager to restart the sim. That will log you out. If on mainland or you cannot contact estate owner or manager. it's Support who have to restart the sim so submit a ticket. Could take a long time though as Support is hugely overstretched. Let Support know where your avatar is ghosted (if you know) to speed things up. If you have Premium membership you can use Live Chat. There is also another way you can possibly get inworld.   14. Yes, it's long been known that switching between Viewer 2 and 1.23 will cause outfit issues. Viewer 2 and 1.23 do not share the same cache. The Viewer 2 cache is located in AppData Local while 1.23 is in AppData Roaming. It also works in a different way too as does Inventory. The Viewer 2 Inventory is more advanced in that you can create linked outfits with outfit parts in various different folders. It's no longer necessary to create outfits by having all the parts in one folder. I never used outfit folders before but the new linked system is brilliant. So if you change an outfit in 1.23, log off and log back in with Viewer 2 you will not be wearing that outfit but the one you had on the last time you used Viewer 2 and vice versa. Occasionally the viewers can get a bit confused too if switching. I'm not quite sure why 1.23 reloads the settings every time you switch but it used to do that for me too. Nyll

  20. Are you using the Emerald viewer? If so, as a workaround, enable the Advanced and Develop Menus CTRL+ALT+D to show Advanced and from it select Show Develop Menu. I came across this in a Pjira. If it doesn't work try Clear Group Cache in the Advanced Menu then log off and log back into a different region. After that I'm out of ideas. Nyll
  21. Move your main settings.xml file elsewhere on your computer and then retart second life, which will create a new default settings.xml file. This will wipe out any settings you had before so you'll have to reset any changes to default including playtypinganim. Hopefully that will solve your problem.   24. Buying from someone doesn't necessarily make it mainland. Some private region owners allow tenants sell on parcels to other residents. However, as you're in SL seven months I assume you know the difference between private regions and mainland and that you did actually buy a mainland parcel. It's easily checked by referring to your Dashboard/Accounts/Land Management/My Mainland as Littleme suggested. Also, if you right click on your land, under the About Land Window/Covenant you'll see There is no Covenant provided for this Estate on mainland parcels or a list of rules there on private region parcels. Scrolling back on the world map will also show if you're on an island or mainland. If your parcel is mainland and the land shows in Dashboard/Accounts/Land Management/My Mainland but you're not receiving the free tier allowance, you can use Live Chat to try and resolve this with Linden Lab. Live Chat is accessible from the Help menu on your Dashboard. You can also submit a ticket if you wish but that may take a long time. Nyll
