  1. Heima used to be called LAQ Decor. The kitchen they sell is the same one that they used to sell, here's a couple of pics of Cee's usage of that kitchen in a Trad. The variety of texture options are impressive! The LODs are also good. I own a lot of Heima pieces. I've used their incredibly configurable curtains often, I just bought their bed on sale, have yet to use it. Plan to use their bathroom in my Med. THE ONLY THING YOU HAVE TO WATCH OUT FOR WITH HEIMA IS THE POTENTIAL FOR LAG! Winter DiPrima, Heima's creator, is the queen of heavy mesh - that is, mesh that makes more demands on your graphics card than the LI would seem to indicate. Much discussion of how to adjust LI calculations to avoid this has transpired. Most of my builds I try to avoid really heavy mesh; but we were REALLY short on prims at Well Springs. Here's their dinner table, the set is 7LI total, including the candles and runner. I haven't configured the textures yet, there are options. I'll be using this in my Med as well, unless I feel like buying another dining table. This is the only one in my inventory that looks right with the kitchen I'm using. Other purveyors of low-LI heavy mesh include Dekute Dekore (the 1-LI dining room table & chairs you see in that Well Springs photo spread is theirs, you can't move the chairs but it rezzes meals as well!) and PrimPossible (their 1-LI grand piano has been useful on occasion!). Just ... out of consideration for all of our PCs, I'm more careful now than I used to be about Heavy Mesh.
  2. Going slow is good! I got so frustrated that I took an Aley free taxi and altered the script so that you can specify the gearing in the car's description. That works very well, I usually use 3 very slow gears and a couple really fast ones for off-road fun. I may have put in 2 speeds of reverse, I forget. I always meant to remove the taxi-specific things (it can take I think 6 passengers!) and see if I could put the script into a decent looking car, but never got around to it. I gave it away, so it's all packaged up if you'd like to play with it. I'll leave the script mod in your copy. I've seen moles using GEMC cars to test Belli roads (Abnor seems partial to an amphibious sedan). Personally, I do well with the Mudskipper jeep as well. I believe it uses one of the script systems @Eowyn Southmoor mentioned, but I find it's menu system more manageable than most. Also, you can turn the sound down, which is nice!
  3. Got a response from Wendi this morning - she affirmed that they are not filling any (more?) tickets until Jan 8th. Also didn't do anything about my lost parcel other than resetting the region, sigh. I suppose it would take a lot of time for her to verify that my alt actually did claim it. *Gives alt the kleenex box*
  4. Lol I got caught up in the inworld frenzy when a couple of folks I know said they successfully filed tickets, and I upgraded an avatar just to file one. Then someone claimed that property off the land page, oh well, and I began hopping. I didn't hear of any tickets working after that, and I bet that all that happened was that some industrious support person noticed the queue of tickets was filling up, and decided to work some off without knowing that they weren't supposed to work before Jan. 8th. Then I bet someone let them know, and no more were filled. Then something really weird happened. I claimed a nice property via the land page, and was happy with it and logged off. When I logged back in, I used the link on the land page to go back to it, which worked. But when I got there, it was no longer mine, it had reverted to Governor Linden (!!!!). Dang! And there was a person who hops a lot standing on it, so I figured she had already filed a ticket on it. But I filed one anyway, just in case. I'm sure it will be claimed off the land page overnight, tho. Nice place. That's what I get for upgrading an avatar in the heat of the moment, I guess. 30$ down the drain!
  5. If you have Firestorm (I'm not sure about LL's viewer), you can easily check your teleport history to see if the name of the property you last teleported from is still "Linden Home". If there are few available properties in the theme you want, you may wish to wait until someone else claims the property you just abandoned. If there are a lot of properties available, for me it usually works to simply wait for 15 minutes or so before claiming a new property, regardless of whether the one you abandoned has been claimed. I usually get a different one then.
  6. I don't see any new theme being developed yet in the SSP area. Personally, I hope that, into 2024, they continue finishing coastlines, making amenities (bridges, train stations, community centers), and creating new models of homes for existing themes. [Actually, I think I may see evidence of a new model home in the works.] And I hope they make the level 3 Mediterranean terrain texture available to us soon (reddish soil, pebbles, shells), so I can build my pond
  7. The content creation pack has 3 of the Mediterranean terrain textures, but both of my parcels' land is mostly the missing level 3 texture, reddish soil with shells & pebbles in it. I'm adding some mesh shapes around a pond I'm making ... can we please have that texture, @Abnor Mole ? Incidentally, I really love that we have the walkway textures, broken tile, yay!
  8. I don't think there is a known home architecture style known as simply "American". So, the difference between your example and the Mediterranean theme is that in your case, LL would be inventing a new architectural style and calling it "American". LL did not invent "Mediterranean" style homes - here is Architectural Digest's tour of the style. Your quarrel is not with LL, it is with whoever named this style of home. Oh, and the Bella Rosa/Vista home can scarcely be termed a McMansion. I'm glad that LL has listened to feedback from users that we'd like a small footprint home in every theme.
  9. Eartha Kitt wanders into view, settles onto a bar stool, smiles at the camera.
  10. I'm curious, do the windows open on any of the Med model homes? They have a lot of doors and light, but I do like to feel like fresh air is moving around. Haven't noticed any windows that open yet.
  11. Perhaps it is based on number of parcels claimed, rather than occupied? Like many others, I prefer stilts that are on land, but have enough water to permanently moor a boat. You generally need to hop through a LOT of inland stilts-on-land before you land one that meets those criteria.
  12. Well, there's still 703 (TYPO!!! ~300) unclaimed Mediterranean homes, so there's no scarcity! But there's a scarcity of homes with nice water views, for sure, if that's what people are searching for. Weirdly, I just gave up a parcel with OK water views for one with no water but really nice landscaping around it, and few walls, so it feels like its out in the country. It's across the street from homes with really GREAT water, grrr, but c'est la vie. If I keep it, I'll try to build a largish pond out back. I love hopping. Sometimes it reveals something you like more than what you were searching for. (thank you, people, for catching the error)
  13. When you asked this question about the Fantasy theme, there was an outpouring of very specific answers. There's nothing specific about the chalets that I don't like, they just don't speak to me as much as other themes do. So it's not that it's a BAD theme, it's that I like other themes more. I found the interiors a little boring, the neighborhoods came across as kind of repetitive. I thought maybe the homes might work better in a really alpine landscape or among a LOT of placid ponds. The ones along the rivers have potential, but I didn't have the patience to roll and roll and roll to try to get one of those, given that the homes weren't screaming WANT at me, like the Meds do.
  14. Very nice! What is the soundtrack? It makes your ride exotic.
  15. I feel sure that new regions will be built after January 8th, when tickets can be used. Note that there are no empty Mediterranean regions they could use for a community center (betcha that will be amazing!), and there are a couple rivers that need to be completed.
  16. If anyone is feeling that they can't find the spot they want, or that Mediterranean is just TOO fancy, Acacia Woods seems to have a popular camping spot under the bridge. ETA: added a red arrow pointing to the innertube rezzer that actually IS in the far puddle. ๐Ÿ˜Ž
  17. WOWWOWOW I go away for 2 weeks (didja miss me? haha) and the moles make my dreams come true! The fabled Northwest Passage between Olde Belli and the stilts EXISTS!!! I'll travel it before Christmas, fingers crossed. There are a LOT of stilts along it, making it narrow in spots. Indeed, I see that the Phallic Isles (Sun Deck, Longshore ๐Ÿ˜œ , and Shakes Pier) are all fringed with stilts already. I love that there will be a rail link between LogLand and RanchLand. Incidentally, if you are so reading impaired (*looks up and whistles innocently) that you ignore the caution sign and try to walk thru the tunnel, you find yourself teleported to dry land at either end, a nice touch. Since they're already using an experience to do that, I wonder if they'll try removing the water while you're in an underwater tunnel via an experience? (You would think that I'd have tried that already, but since I'm not building any tunnels myself, I've not done so. It's a good attribute in a software engineer to be lazy, prevents wasting time on purely NIH projects. Or so I tell myself.) And the new theme IS Mediterranean, and is already released??? I've gone PP and hopped a bit, will try again tomorrow, looks lovely! Hoping for a river spot ... Thank you, LDPW! Merry Christmas to you all!
  18. I haven't seen the Mediterranean theme in person yet, but New Orleans looks like it might be very close to Mediterranean. ฤคow about Bayou instead? Love me some swampy shack goodness. Maybe a run-down Garden District home รกs one home style. As for urban ... blech. I've seen some really good renditions, but the best ones I've come across have been roleplay regions, which LHs aren't suited for.
  19. Sounds like we're all ready to move in. NOW ... when did you say these were being released, Santa Patch? ๐ŸŽ…
  20. OMGOSH! I think I did it! I finally guessed a theme right! If it's not Mediterranean, it's close enough for me! https://community.secondlife.com/forums/topic/426577-ssp/page/318/#comment-2647024 And I love what I see so far ๐Ÿ˜ Premium Plus, here I come! And, puzzle me this: I've circled a blue chimney on the left. BUT ... what I've circled on the right ... is that a turret? A campanile? Most of these look like 2-story, small palazzi - love that double-decker arched window in the middle of this pic. But I hope there are also a couple smaller, one-story cottage-like styles of homes. Gotta have room for my olive orchard! No telltale landscaping has appeared yet at the Welcome Hub demo area ...
  21. Me, too, Teresa. It looks to me like the buildout of the next theme is pretty much done, perhaps even all QA'd. But I don't see any new hints or mention of a reveal at the Expo ... I suppose it could be that LL has decided to ride this ranch pony until it slows up on its own! Or possibly the problems with the fantasy home controllers etc. will cause a delay until after the holidays. Sometimes I wonder if Dyna, Quartz et al could use more scripting help. I mean, I script, I worked as a software contractor for years, I could use a little income, neh? Sure! ..... Then I remember all the blathering I've done here and think that probably neither Abnor nor Patch would hire me to make popcorn, let alone code. ๐Ÿ‘ผ D'oh!
  22. This is the tile for the BelliHUB and BelliDemo regions. Green dot right about where they would probably build out a little more land in BelliDemo to accommodate a new 2048 theme.
  23. Yes! New coastline, 7 new regions up to the railbridge to the Welcome Hub! All stilts. Yay, moles! Keep going up to Really Wet, and the Northwest Passage from Olde Belle to StiltHaven's big river will be Really Really Real!
  24. Ah, good! I shan't Jira then, and also shan't bother you unless I actually want a borked parcel, and cannot reset it. There are about 2300 Fantasy parcels available, so let's not sweat it for the few I find. Btw, I used my trusty Multifunction Stopwatch app to time my reset attempts, having seen your comments elsewhere. Most mysterious.
