  1. File a Support Case, and use "object littering" as the issue type, and "Governor Linden" as the person you're reporting.
  2. If it's only snapshots that are pixelated, but things look normal in world, it's likely not the video drivers. More likely, it's a setting in your snapshots options. Check the pixel setting in the Snapshots window. If you can't find the problem, a possible alternative would be to use the Windows Snipping Tool or the screenshot button to take pictures.
  3. There are two ways this can happen. 1. You were given an object, and you rezzed it or wore it. It requested permission to take $L from you, and you allowed it. If the object remains in world, it can continue to steal $L from you. Delete it or take it off immediately. File an Abuse Report against the person who gave it to you. 2. Someone gave you a link to a website. You entered your name and password on the website and it sent them to the thief. He can log in to your account and take your money, or do other bad things. See this web page for what to do: http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Linden_Lab_Official:Account_Security ______________________________________________________ Há duas maneiras que isso pode acontecer. 1.
  4. You don't need to pay in order to use Second Life. A few things do require a billing method, whether you use it or not. For example, visiting Skill Gaming regions, uploading Mesh objects that you create, buying a private estate region, or a Premium membership. Linden Lab accepts major credit cards, and also a verified PayPal account. You can verify your PayPal account by linking it to a Real Life bank account. By using this method, you don't need the credit card.
  5. That's a very gray area. If you were to use software to make an exact copy, it would definitely be copyright infringement. If you only use the building as a guide, and construct your own replica, the infringement becomes arguable. In any case, the creator of the original could claim infringement and file a DMCA takedown notice against you.
  6. It's possible that your account has been compromised, most likely because you visited a phishing site and entered your login information. You should follow the instructions here: http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Linden_Lab_Official:Account_Security
  7. We're just residents like you. Linden Lab may be able to help if the region is offline, by filing a support case. However, they might not...they tend to let private estate owners manage their own regions. Keep trying to contact them, or a representative.
  8. Try coffee shops instead. Young avatars shouldn't drink alcohol, it'll rot your pixel liver. :smileyvery-happy:
  9. Supposedly, these games have an element of skill to them. Perhaps they have just figured out how to win! On the other hand, they may just be gambling addicts. Or both.
  10. The region may be offline. If so, wait a little and it should come back on. Otherwise, contact your estate owner if you're on a private estate, or Live Chat if you are on Mainland.

  12. No system admins are in this forum, just us residents. If you want an "official" answer, call Billing at one of the numbers at the end of this post. But I'll give you my answer. You can use a PayPal account that's verified by tying it to your bank account. HOWEVER: You must actually have enough money in your PayPal account to meet your SL obligations. Linden Lab will not wait several days for money to transfer from your bank to PayPal to them. It's your responsibility to keep your PP account "stocked". 13. See this note on the Firestorm website: http://wiki.phoenixviewer.com/frame_load
  14. I have to disagree with the honorable Ohjiro. Help Island Public is NOT the best place to learn about Second Life, unless what you want to learn about is trolls and griefers. Try Caledon Oxbridge University as Rolig suggests, or White Tiger Help Island, New Citizens, Inc., or Helping Haven. All of them have tutorials, information-vending signs and kiosks, freebies, and live helpers to answer your questions.
  15. OK, let's explain things a little bit. Your basic avatar body can have textures painted on it...things like skin, tattoos, shirts, pants, and so on. These are "paint" layers directly on the avatar body. Your avatar can also wear attachments. These can be small, like shoes or jewelry, or they can be larger, like a mesh dress...or even mesh body parts like breasts and buns. Because they are attachments, the skin and clothing layers designed to work on the avatar body don't work at all on them. (For example, think how silly it would be to apply a skin texture to your hair!) Attachments like feet, hands, breasts, and buns that must be carefully matched to your skin tone have "appliers" that...well, apply...the same texture as your skin over the attachment. Many clothing outfits also come with appliers, to paint a texture that matches the clothes onto the body part attachment. The applier must be compatible with the attachment you want to use it with. For example, you may find a skin or a clothing outfit that says "applier for Lolas Tango included." This means that you can use that product with the popular Lolas Tango mesh breast attachments. A lot of us decide the compatibility hassles are more trouble than the mesh body parts are worth, and just stick with what nature, or in this case Linden Lab, has provided for us. Others go all the way and get a full mesh body...and are careful to only shop for clothing designed to work with that body.
  16. In addition to Maddy's suggestions, that Radeon 3200 card is underpowered for Second Life. If you can't get a more powerful graphics card, at least set your graphics preferences to Low, and keep your draw distance down.

    Name Change

To clarify Muletta's response, you have to make a new ACCOUNT. Your avatar is just the appearance you are wearing.

  20. The link to "The Store" that you see right under the Buy buttons is NOT a link to an in-world store. It's a link to that merchant's other products on the Marketplace...like an eBay "store." If the merchant has an in-world store, that link will be down at the bottom of the listing, and will say "See Item in Second Life." Click that, and you'll get a SLURL page to log you in, or teleport you, to that location.

  22. Not unless the abuse in question is a phishing scam or some other method of "hacking" your account. In that case you can call the Fraud line, 800-860-6990.

  24. No, LL doesn't accept gift or prepaid cards. Some of the third party $L resellers will accept them, but this will only let you buy $L. It won't help with a Premium membership. LL accepts most major credit cards, or a verified PayPal account. EDIT: It's very kind of you to want to send your friend a gift card to get her started. However, you can be just as helpful by taking her shopping and getting her some nice skin, hair, and clothes!
  25. Well, I'm on the side of the grammar police -- at least, I am in favor of using good spelling and grammar. However, "attacking" someone, either physically or in chat, is never polite. The best solution to any rude or annoying person is to Mute them. Just right click them, and select Mute/Block from the menu. Problem solved! ps - some viewers, including the Firestorm viewer, have a spell checker built in to help those who are poor typists or spellers.
