  1. Ahahahahaha, and sorry! You're thwarted! I have set my preferences to "Noooooooo! I can't afford to feed followers!" mode.
  2. Oh dear. I've never followed anyone. No one told me there were $Ls and snacks involved! I get so itchy with the idea of followers that I selected the option of "don't allow anyone to follow", sorry @Paul Hexem! I did have a couple of followers when I reset that months ago, and it bleeped them out of existence, and I felt badly about that. I hope they didn't get a message like you do from Group bootings, which are rather rude and blunt. I can't imagine why I'd want to follow anyone... I mean, y'all are wonderful and drop pearls of wisdom by the hour, so I'm probably being remiss or something. I guess if I wandered around the Forum more it would make sense. I basically only hang out in a few places. I've followed a few threads, especially if they are in some weird nook or cranny of the Forum. I'm sure I'd follow people in the more technical parts. What was the question again? ETA: I will happily follow ANYONE for a monthly subscription of I may be for sale, but I'm not cheap.
  3. Well, I can get the mixed up chemicals any time as that would be wrong Rx and coffee. Not sure I can wrangle up the possibly poisonous peanut bug thing, nor would I want to (gah, I can still taste that thing, seriously, and feel the squishy...ew ew ew). But you have a point, I need to up my no effs given levels. That'll never pis5 anyone off... as if.
  4. Pet peeve: Feeling like I have to disclaimer every sentence I say on the Forum. This is a Me problem, not a You problem, I know. It has been ingrained in me since a long time ago, when I would be jumped on for every word, phrase or sentence that could possibly be taken in the wrong way, context or not. Good old conditioning. The sad fact is that it is still getting reinforced in this version of the forum. Things like paying a compliment and having it construed as something... ya know, I'm not totally sure what it was construed as! But that's just the most recent, is why I cite it. It isn't an isolated case, not the only time it happens, and not just with cranks. Certainly the written word can be mistranslated and misunderstood so easily. We all know that. Humor can be really tough, especially with an international audience. So, I get that. I even often flag my sarcasm with [sarcasm font] and folks still miss it. (There are some folks who are lacking the sarcasm/irony genes.) All that is well and good, but ffs, even if I weren't paranoid and super-sensitive, I'd still be feeling the need to make disclaimers due to overly sensitive folk looking for a reason to be offended. Grrrr. Right now with the forum's collective hive mind set to "freak out" it is especially bad. It's a lot easier to make posts when under the influence of bugs and chemicals, including coffee. Then ya just don't give an eff.
  5. Yay for the surgery date. And ya know? That isn't that "soon." I think that is a good thing. Like if they said "tomorrow" I'd be worried (more). Thanks for the update.
  6. Once again, that is such a delightfully Canadian view of things! Welcome to the 'merica tween the coasts. (Gross oversimplification, but in quipping I"m not going to cite sources in footnotes, etc.) (I'm never going to stop feeling like I have to make disclaimers.) (sigh)
  7. So when you are set to friends only then you truly don't see anyone else and you can just mow down other, unrendered avatars? I understand the graphic card strain, but can't you do other things? I often will set the sliders to make more jelly dolls cuz I don't give an eff in the shopping events what other people look like! I also set a next to nothing draw distance and will go to the advanced menu/rendering items and turn off just about everything... sky, water, etc. I've been crashed into by so many people that I bet have that friends only setting on. grrrrr LoL about no bloody mountains there. Like, gosh, Ragnar doesn't climb the massive stone cliff overlooking Kattegat and look broodingly over his territory? Darn. Well, I will suspend disbelief because I love the scenery in the show. I mean, we could totally spam the thread with the inaccuracies in the history, both Viking and English, but meh. A great drinking game could be made every time blood is spilled in the show. X-number of points for a critter. Y-number of points for a critter making a human bleed. Z-number of points for blood eagles. etc. And by points I mean gulps of beverage. Shots of hard liquor would kill you after half an episode. Still calmer than the forum has been though.
  8. One of the first things I learned here in the regionalisms is if you see a car from Massachusetts those be Massholes.
  9. Sadly, I know of what you speak. Although, weird, I wonder if it is a regionalism in KY what other state you make fun of. I always heard WV. You heard Michigan??? I lived in the far eastern part, not far from good old Hazard, but in the boondocks. LoL, Yep, referred to as East of Jesus. I LoL'd at the state motto you gave. I've lived in a lot of places. Some good, some bad, a lot of how you describe things in the last sentence. I miss the Left Coast...
  10. I'm really happy to see all of the shots, of any kind! We are really getting into the before and afters! But I'm soooo glad to see raw shots from folks, too, like @Panteleeva and @Dano Seale posted. There was some talk here and elsewhere (and even on the OP) about how sometimes people can feel intimidated if their shots aren't all artsy - fartsy. I really hope nobody lets that get in the way. I still post on the my.secondlife.com feed (which most people don't know about and those that do think it was done away with), and that is ALL raw screenshots and the ones from parties, dances, adventures, the clicking of daily SL, are lots of fun. You can post those here, too, ya know. If you keep them to your avatar being in them. I don't want to spam the thread by 300 comments back to back, and I need to catch up!
  11. The thing I noticed was that in #2 & # that a light bulb appeared in the upper left, under the rope. I like how you enhance things but keep it still SL. If I saw this without the explanation I would probably think screenshot, probably with Black Dragon but even FS. And I mean that as a compliment! Fun shot and I LOVE your styling.
  12. Good to see you again! We were concerned. And, lol, a sincere thanks for plunging into the new thread, with both photos and a wall of text! ♥ (sooooo not a complaint.) Many of the steps you do sound familiar to me. I also can take multiple shots, just moving the camera or sliders ever so, setting up the sizing and ratio in the viewer because I rarely crop in an editing program. And I *totally* get how PS can be meditative. If everything is going smoothly (no crashes or glitches or being annoyed by strangers on the sim), I just zone out and am oblivious to anything else in SL or even RL when I'm fiddling with getting an image. SR can stand for quite literally hours as I fidget, and I have no idea of the time spent. I love both of your images but in this case I think I like the raw one best. The bottom one has a better luminosity though, I think, and that really gives it an oomph. Fun, fun! I look forward to seeing more.
  13. Ya know, this should go on the peeves thread but I hate how that phrase was used so much, so stupidly, for every little thing (which always reminds me of the Southpark bit with the woman in the audience wringing her hands and lamenting, "but think about the children!"). It used to be a useful phrase for people you actually knew, and you literally had them in your thoughts (and prayers if that's your thing). Now? Even when I mean it I cannot say it because...ewwww.
  14. I'm sure it would be blamed on Obama bringing home a Chinese bat and willing it to invade the White House. :::thanks Obama:::
  15. This is like the Scandinavian version of how we all made fun of the people in Kentucky when I lived in Ohio. The Kentuckians made fun of West Virginia. Not sure who *they* make fun of. Where I live in New England, they make fun of anyone from "not from around here" which was literally defined to me by a *seriously* speaking co-worker as being about a thirty mile radius.
  16. I just learned that there are just only so many depictions of blood eagles one can watch in a day... am a little peeved by that. (That's on tv/streaming, but then again, I assume that is true in RL too...)
  17. That's so... so... wrong. And yet I laughed. I'm going to hell. I don't believe in hell. But I'm going there.
  18. I've had that happen because, at least in one instance it was someone I knew but isn't a listed friend and he told me that was why as he flew through me, they have the viewer set to render friends only. I've never used it, not sure how it works, but if that is what it does, it is a horrible feature.
  19. I'm not sure how to feel or react to the following, which was in an email from The Washington Post's 5-Minute Fix On one hand I'm surprised, and a little pleased (?) that the majority of Americans are at least nervous about going back to normal, after the media (all of the media) rather sensationalized a handful twits with guns marching on various state capitals to complain against... probably Obama? And I wonder what will happen when/if several GOP leaders end up with at least a positive test.
  20. What, exactly, are we peeving on again? :::confused, and I haven't had any poisonous peanut bugs today:::
  21. Could be an interesting segment on one of the podcasts I follow: Ghosts in the Burbs.
  22. I think someone is doing something not quite right... although there have been times when I've made the orgasm sound when in my head I was yawning... TMI?
  23. Possibly someone like family or friend accessing the account? I have already written down information to be given to access things when I croak.
