  1. You are probably wearing a no-modify shape. Choose a different shape from your inventory, or click "New Shape" ...then you can use all the sliders & menu bar :matte-motes-bashful-cute-2:
  2. If you want to make your own SL animations for your sofa, you can use a free program called qavimator. Making your own animations will vastly enhance your sofa's sellability! Just google "qavimator", its downloadable from the internet :matte-motes-nerdy:
  3. Are you able to access other rich media on the internet (ie. itunes, youtube, etc...) uninterrupted without stalling? If no, try hitting the power off button on your modem and wait 10 seconds before powering it back on. This works for me on the rare occassion I can't connect to server.

    hi

Hello zbeng! Why is your avatar at risk? If you provide a little more detail I am sure somebody here can help you :matte-motes-whistle:
  5. A quick relog or teleport to a new area should fix it, but if that does not help try removing all attached items you are wearing. It is possible for a scripted attachment to fail (or be intentionally built for greifing purpose) in such a way that it takes control of your avatar movements, but then disables your controls so you can not move at all. Your avatar can still be pushed in this state but can not move your own avatar by keyboard controls or mouse :matte-motes-confused:
  6. LOL at Randall.... good call & it fits the convo perfectly funny enough... (thread title was changed if you didn't know :matte-motes-big-grin-wink:) he was just hoping the thread will die in peace now so no more comments okay people :matte-motes-zipped:
  7. The L$ to such an account would be held by Linden Lab, and just vaporized out of the system eventually, it will be liquidated to nowhere by Linden Lab. Linden Lab has no use for L$ for themselves (they operate only in USD), so any orphaned L$ just becomes a sink to help stabilize the value of L$. If you open a support case ticket from the SL website here, perhaps maybe it is possible you can get it retreived. Best of luck!
  8. They will have a new IP and they can return to SL easy enough (with a brand new av, not their old banned av). They can have a happy normal life in Second Life. However, if they choose to copybot again, they will most likely be instantly busted and perma-banned again. Security is stepping up always and Lindens can detect this kind of thing fairly easily now in almost all cases. Also, there has now been cases of successful real life prosecution from theft of virtual items so the real world law is beginning to regard this kind of thing (similar to pirating music) as a real crime so if this person does not start behaving there could be very real penalties & a criminal record waiting for them someday. Keep in mind some content developers in Second Life can & do prosecute to the fullest extent of the law.
  10. LOL Yeah thats obviously not done by a human. This is the kind of grand screw up only machines can do. Some Linden somewhere must be looking at this all and thinking oh **** :matte-motes-shocked: what did I just do? Good thing about an automated process though is once they get the kinks worked out of the system it will run forever in autonomous perfection. To fix this all they need to is correct the algorithm as suggested, run a survey for these irregular/odd plots to recut them, and BAM its resolved in a day gridwide. They should resolve this quickly before some dastardly baron gets grabby and turns it into a real convoluted mess!
  11. Are you trying to dial this number? 703-286-6277 That's international billing. You can't use Linden Lab's other contact numbers from overseas. If you are getting a wrong number check the country codes you are dialing to make sure that is all correct, or just dial 0 for an operator and ask them to connect you to the above number. That's what I've done before since it can be tricky sometimes to dial international numbers. Be aware that there may be a fee if you use an operator to connect.
  12. Have you tried yet going to your "Preferences" and hit "Clear Cache" then relog? It is a simple quick solution that fixes many problems with loading things. If this doesn't work try the Character Tests which Peewee suggested here.
  13. You don't have to go for the newest high end to get essentially the same results, Lindens are always focused on backwards-compatibility so it is pretty good this way.... Second Life runs perfectly fine even on older NVIDIA, I run SL on several different setups now & I can vouch for this :matte-motes-bashful-cute:
  14. It is a problem that you experience a longish delay before seeing any action taken. Lindens are working to improve response times on all these kind of things. They do recognize there's a shortfall for various types of support cases. You did the right thing by filing an Abuse Report for inappropriate content. The more people take action as you did on any particular object(s), the faster Lindens will take note of these objects and remove, because then it is seen as broadly offensive to the community and this helps prioritize response.
  15. You can charge less for an item on marketplace than inworld, just do not charge more for it on marketplace than inworld, this is the only way to violate ToS through price. I believe you are allowed a small markup to cover SLM commission amounts, that is all. Speaking purely as a business professional, I would advise you to keep your pricing consistent everywhere as much as possible. It is easier for your customers to understand and will lead to more sales in the long run if you just try to keep your prices stable and unchanging.
  16. Nice work man! I should visit that Tron sim sometime.... looks like fun :matte-motes-inlove:
  17. Try lowering your draw distance maybe? I like to cruise around on Ultra but if it lags out surprisingly badly at some point I find lowering the draw distance seems to help the most :matte-motes-stress: You can lower it to one of the smallest settings and unless you are racing around in a vehicle it's not noticable any difference except faster loading.
  18. I am very sorry to hear you had a bad experience with a SL merchant. Each time this happens it is hurtful to the individual customer & to the wider Second Life economy as it can make people trust commerce here less. There would be a lot less of this if there was a bit more of a bar to entry to begin doing business in SL. It is a little too easy to open up shop in Second Life and this can hurt the customers when they face an irresponsible merchant. On SLM it requires zero investment into SL to begin selling so you can imagine some merchant's attitudes. It can be just a sort of casual fun to begin selling items in SL, some don't even create their own stuff or even understand they are opening a business.... so it is very much a joke to them, like Farmville, or some game like that. Just buy a pile of wares, slap it up on SLM and.... tada!... they are now playing in SL as a "merchant". If they get any customers, whatever kind of service they may receive is at this merchant's sole discretion. So sadly for customers there can be no support in these situations. I wish Linden Lab enacted stronger business measures to discourage most of these joker merchants from opening up shops in the first place.
  19. I was happy to see we get a smiley extension pack here :matte-motes-zipped: :matte-motes-impatient: :matte-motes-inlove: While they are fixing the alignment I hope they pop a cat smiley or two in there... The internet is made of cats so it's kind of standard really, cats should be included, I hope Linden Lab takes action on this soon
  20. this page explains the forums ranks and roles, maybe of some help to you.... http://community.secondlife.com/t5/help/faqpage/faq-category-id/ranksroles#ranksroles
  21. I think it is just confusing rank titles. With no advancement you are "Honored Resident" and there is a couple other "Resident" titles that maybe rely on being premium or not, or how long you have been here. I got the "Member" advancement too... its not a demotion.... I think it just arrives to you when you get more than 3 kudos.
  22. Yes this versioning of 2.6.3 has some showstopper problems.... You found the best solution already, just revert to a previous version of viewer 2 & wait until the next viewer release to update. The next viewer will probably contain fixes to all these things.
  23. Linden Lab did take steps to resolve this by making traffic not carry any weight in regular search function. In the months since these situations of extreme traffic violations has been in decline, so I would say it working... though perhaps not as fast as you are hoping for. :matte-motes-mad: Why some people still struggle to create false traffic I don't understand. It doesn't count for anything anymore so why bother? Also with a place full of bots you can easily directly lose customers as there is an avatar limit per sim. Obviously many people hate to see false traffic & bots everywhere so the net result must be bad for business versus just keeping honest traffic. More bots = less paying customers. Hopefully we will continue to see less and less of these operations.
  24. Hahaha is that real? Haven't see that one yet.... "Sucks to be you" ROFL :matte-motes-big-grin-squint:
  25. Your friend should obviously return the L$ to this person! If you don't pay for something when someone expects payment for it, you are stealing. It is pretty simple to understand this is not somehow becoming free. If your friend does not return it from goodness of heart, they should return it because they are putting their SL account at risk for a fraud/abuse report ...which would be very easy for the L$ seller to file at this point. Linden Lab takes fraud very seriously and there is a very real possibility here that the situation could someday lead to real life prosecution for your friend. It would not be the first time someone faces real life penalty for virtual crimes. Not worth the potential trouble, just tell your friend to complete the deal one way or the other... Either give the L$ back or pay the seller like a proper honest person would do :matte-motes-sunglasses-3:
