Hi diosabonita0, You may be seeing a test transaction, during which Linden Lab verifies that your payment source is valid. Test transactions generally involved a transfer of $1USD, which is reversed upon success.

How to detach Bimbo_talker from my mouth?
Madelaine McMasters replied to finrod23's question in Avatar
Hi finrod, The only way something can be "locked" is if RLV is enabled on your viewer. In Firestorm you enable/disable RLV from the Advanced Menu (Ctrl-Alt-D if you don't see that menu). Once you've re-logged, remove the things you don't want to wear. If you wish to continue using RLV, re-enable it and relog. You can also log in using the official SL viewer, which does not support RLV. Fix everything up, the return using your preferred viewer. Good luck! -

I want to increase the minimum daily charge through visa
Madelaine McMasters replied to shohi's question in Linden Dollars (L$)
Hi shohi, I think you mean you want to increase the maximum daily charge limit. The maximum buy/sell limits increase over time, after you perform your first transaction on the LindeX Exchange. You can request a review, it's all detailed on this page... https://secondlife.com/my/lindex/describe-limits.php?- 1 reply

Hi OpraChrsTenor, There is no adult option for groups. From... http://community.secondlife.com/t5/English-Knowledge-Base/Maturity-ratings/ta-p/700119 There's this... Groups tab The search system filters searches in the Groups tab the same way as in an Everything search. Groups can be marked as Moderate or left unchecked for non-Moderate groups. If a group's name or Group Charter uses adult keywords, the group appears only in Adult searches.

UncommonTruth wrote: First off, belated Happy Rez Day Maddy! I just want to add a little to what people have already said. Filling out your profile is a great way to make yourself more inviting it's true, but reading other people's profiles is the best way to find ice breakers. I'm with you, I feel uncomfortable and silly saying hi to people I don't know. So I browse profiles, look at the nearby people list when I go somewhere and start opening profiles. When there is something interesting or funny or sad or profound on one, I chime in with my two cents Welcome to SL, feel free to message me inworld if you want a little practice reaching out (by the way, what happened to spell check?? D: I neeeeeed it!) Thanks for the birthday wishes, they're more for the woman in the chair than the avatar, as the birthday marks the sixth anniversay of the creation of my first avatar here, not the one I currently inhabit. I imagine that the last Linden who attempted to log into the spell checker's administrative control panel was unable to spell "Administrator" and the feature was disabled as a result. This is why everybody should use their imagination.

nVidia GTX 870m issues
Madelaine McMasters replied to Pter Moreau's topic in General Second Life Tech Discussion
Is your laptop still saying it's using the ATI card when you enable the GTX 780? That part confuses me. -
Belated welcome to SL, Morgan! Taking the first step can be daunting, but if you don't do it, it often won't get done. You've already figured that out. Yes, you actually do just say hello to people. The hardest part is realizing that you won't look like a fool for doing so. Now and then I'll drop into a new venue where I know absolutely nobody. Many here on the forums can probably guess the first line I utter after doing so. It's... "Hi, Kids!!!" That invariably gets me at least one "Hello Madelaine" in return, and off I go. People will not show interest in you if you don't show interest in them. And even then, they may not show interest if they're busy with friends already. You've got to be a li'l tenacious and not be bothered by rejection. I suppose finding friends here is like getting an acting job in Hollywood. It isn't that people are bothered, but that they're busy, and... wait for it... they may be as nervous about meeting you as you are of meeting them. Put more information in your profile, so that people who may be nervous about saying hello have at least a little something to grab onto. Make yourself look inviting. I won't say that mine's a good example to copy, but I will say that over my six years (today in fact!) in SL, I've had at least a dozen people contact me out of the blue because I mention Dr. Richard Feynman in my profile. You'd be surprised what can open people up. Look up Hippie Bowman and join his Breakfast Group. It's a moveable feast, open to all, at which you'll meet some welcoming people. Good luck, I'm rooting for you, we're all in this together. ;-)

nVidia GTX 870m issues
Madelaine McMasters replied to Pter Moreau's topic in General Second Life Tech Discussion
Hi Pter, I think your problem is due to the GTX 870 being so new that the viewers don't yet know about it. There's a file called "gputable.txt" that contains configuration information for various video chips. I just checked the version that accompanies the latest Firestorm release, and the table stops with the GTX 7xx family. If you are handy with a text editor, and can find that file on your computer (on a Mac, right click the viewer and select "Open Package Contents" then go to the Resources folder where you'll find the file) open it and search for this line... NVIDIA GTX 770M .*NVIDIA .*GTX *77[0-9]M.* 5 1 0 4.4 Change each occurance of 77 to 87, save the file and relaunch your viewer. No promises, but that may allow your viewer to recognize and use your whizzy new video adapter. Eventually the official viewer releases will contain a line for your adapter, until then, if that edit works, keep a copy of the file around to replace any you get with future releases that don't work. Good luck! -
Hi Human, This problem has been plaguing people for weeks. You might try encoding your event in pig-latin, or op-talk. Here's a tutorial on the latter... Here's a link to links to the continuing saga... http://community.secondlife.com/t5/Everything-Else/How-do-a-designate-an-event-as-G/qaq-p/2584590 As I say there, feel free to file a bug report. Good luck!

Can i decorate a rental place?
Madelaine McMasters replied to JaneyDisco's question in Getting Started
Hi again Janey, Yes, you can decorate rental property, subject to the Landlord's restrictions. You'll have a prim allowance that limits what you can rez, and there may be requirements for placement, style, etc. When you rented, you were probably invited to join a rental group. You'll have to activate that group to receive permission to rez objects on your rental space. If you have boxed items, you'd drag them from inventory to the ground, then right click and "Open" them, then copy the contents to your inventory. Once that's done, Take the box back into inventory and then drag the things you just copied to inventory back out where you want them. If you run out of prim space to open a box (some of the fancy boxes can have upwards of a dozen prims, don't ask me why!), you can always unpack them at a public sandbox like Fermi. Good luck!- 1 reply
