  2. It's working fine here in Southern California. Precisely what error message(s) are you seeing when you attempt to log in?
  3. Simple Answer: No However, with some work you can probably create a fairly good approximation of your IMVU shape and locate a ready made skin that has the look and complexion that you desire. Of course once you have accomplished this, then the joys of shopping in the SL MarketPlace will be your next challenge.

Well we'll always have that wonderful evening at Galaxy...when our avatar's were so simple yet deep down we knew that we were right for each and the other. Tearfully I release you to the ravages of real life. Farewell my love.

And yes (here we go again), we all know it has gone up and down in the past, but most people are also aware of the recent 4 year stable exchange rate. Why it was stable and why it is wildly fluctuating right now is the question, and concern. The concern is because nobody knows where it will stop, and neither do you, so I don't think you can tell people there's no need for concern or that nothing has changed. You, like all rest of us, don't know. My small limit sell order was completed in less that 24 hours at the requested rate of 254. There seems to be enough volume to flush these orders through. Being willing to wait netted me an additional $3.33 USD above the Market Sell rate when I placed this Sell Order.
  7. Omin0us wrote: i could login as soon as the time it said was over, but i was just wondering if it wasn't something bad that was happening to my account. i don't see anything different either Omin0us, Basically all these maintenance activities are update and correction to the various databases that allow the SL Grid & us to exist. Back in the days when I was an internal accounting auditor for a Fortune 100 company, the systems analysts and programmers would perform maintenance activities to correct an issue that potentially could affect our customer accounts. This was frequently an unscheduled activity done on weekends. If the issue was major we might be told that some of our departmental systems would be down early for an emergency fix. SL is the same way. So during the global planned update/repair activity your account was flagged as potentially affected by the issue being corrected. It was queued for additional processing. This why the status message was left for you. LL doing what needed to be done to make you right! Not noticing what was fixed means that the maintenance was a success for your account. [finfers crossed] LL may publish a detailed Blog entry about this maintenance activity in a few days. This is something new we've been seeing as of late.
  8. Have you tried logging in now? LL completed a large maintenance activity that took a few days in total. If you still can't log in then email them at support@secondlife.com and/or Submit a Support Case.
  9. It is always is good to examine this page: https://secondlife.com/my/lindex/market.php?lang=en-US to see what the current exchange levels are for the $Linden before making a Market Buy. Then if you want a particular yield on your purchase, consider making a Limit Buy for the rate you want. https://secondlife.com/my/lindex/buy.php#limitBuy
  10. Sharoon, Your Graphics Card is barely acceptable and should be considered a no starter for Second Life in all but the lowest level Graphics modes. You'll miss most of the detail around you at that level and many avatars will never render fully for you. Sven is correct, your CPU is a bottom of the pile product from 2009 as well. Save yourself a lot of frustration and save up for a new PC.
  11. 発生した予定外のメンテナンスは現在あります。これは、いくつかのアカウントに影響を及ぼしています。 https://community.secondlife.com/t5/Status-Grid/Utility-Server-Scheduled-Maintenance-17-June-2016/ba-p/3040782 Utility Server Scheduled Maintenance 17 June 2016 by Status Linden yesterday [Posted 3:14 PM PDT, 16 June 2016] We will be conducting scheduled maintenance on a cluster of our utility servers beginning tomorrow morning, 17 June, at 1 AM PDT. During that time: Residents served by the cluster may be logged off of Second Life, and unable to relog until the maintenance is complete. Resident groups served by the cluster may be unable to send messages or initiate group chats during the maintenance. For overnight changes to the scope or schedule of this work, please monitor our Twitter feed at @SLGridStatus.
  12. It's back...... Notice that the outer Table Elements are missing from the active part of the forum board. The ones that LL put the sidebar advertising code in. The inner table(s) feel a bit crowded as a result of losing the bounding attributes that the outer table used to have.I think that is also what is causing the upper header to appear squished as well. I bet the programmer gets it right in 2 days....any takers? What's worrisome is that I don't think there is a live "test" SL Forum for them to use when testing changes before releasing the templates to production.
  13. ChinRey wrote: KarenMichelle Lane wrote: ...and as soon as it was implemented, it was also removed. Sigh. It may be back. But that's a leeeetle bit worrying actually. I've seen some comments that definitely weren't intended for public view. I think msot users here don't realize they are supposed to be for everybody to see. Besides, comments to comments to answers ... the Answers section may turn into a discussion forum fast. It has come and gone a few times this afternoon. They are having issues with the page template especially with the Header bar... Current Header: Comments Implemented Header: The stuff in the upper right gets scrunched a bit and the Mail icon is in the wrong position. IMHO Wouldn't it be easier to just hire a programmer with Lithium experience? Just Saying!
  14. ...and as soon as it was implemented, it was also removed. Sigh. We;re back to the innocuous Permalink Link again. The only evidence that it was ever true is posted above. Camelot denied. This teasing by LL must stop!

  16. Well well well, after many years the Lithium Forum Comments Count feature has been miraculously been turned on. - Woo Hoo ! Chasing down those hidden posts in SL Answers has just become much easier. I wonder what else has been "adjusted"? I bet the person who last modified the Forum Software Configuration was finally released from LL prison. :P
  17. So looking at your transaction tonight I calculate the following... Your L$100,000 would net you US$ 362.31 into your USD Balance after the processing fee. Further, Your Process Credit Fee from Linden Lab is 1.5% or US 5.43 which means your PayPal account is being sent US$ 356.88. My PayPal processing fee in the United States is as follows: Note that a transfer of monies into a PP account is considered a sales transaction. Therefore that $US 356.88 has 2.9% or $US 10.35 + $US 0.30 or $US 10.56 taken as a transaction convenience fee yielding a final transfer amount of $US 346.22 in net dollars. This jives with my experiences in cashing out USDs into my PayPal account. How you ended up with the numbers you have stated is not remotely discernible. No exchange rate of Lindens to USDs has been as bad as you are indicating. To get a ending proceed of $US 311.00 as you have stated means the exchange rate has to be in the area of L$317 / $US 1.00 and that did not happen, Remember, the most that Linden Research will take as a transaction fee is $US 15.00 but in your case $US 5.00 is the more likely fee charged. If you are in a VAT Tax Collected country, that might explain the difference. VAT is NOT calculated in your proceeds amount as displayed on the Sell Page. But it shouldn't be either. Was VAT collected on your sale of $Lindens? It shouldn't have been as the USDs are not reportable for income tax purposes as long as they remain in SL. Was VAT collected on your payout to PayPal? All the details of these transactions are available to you via... https://accounts.secondlife.com/transaction_history https://accounts.secondlife.com/account_history and your PayPal Account Transaction Detail Page Let us know.
  18. The Second Life Viewer does not have an option to display the name of the songs being streamed on the parcels you visit. You can use the Firestorm viewer to obtain this feature in your local [provate] chat window. Also note that many DJs and Clubs/Venues use scripted Song Announcers to let folks know that songs are playing.
  19. It is really a fast process if everything has been prepared properly. [ ] The Allowing Neighbor option needs to have been completed prior to the start of the move. You should have done this prior to Creating the Support Case for the Move. To specify a Resident you want to be able to buy land next to yours: Log into the Land Portal. Click Land Manager > My Regions. Select the estate for which you want to specify allowed neighbors. In the Allowed Neighbors column, click the edit link for a specific region. Type the name of the Resident you want to allow as a neighbor into the text field and click add. Click close. The Resident you specified can now buy land next to that region. [ ] After Linden Lab has the Request then they will schedule the GRID coordinate Move and the World Map Update activities. The Region will be shutdown, be reprogrammed with new GRID start-up coordinates and started again. You should get a temporary LM address wen this is completed. It was interesting to watch the updates happening the one time I could get to one of my regions during this process. [ ] The Asset Server caches get flushed of your Regions old location and record the new location for the rebuild activities on the rezzed items. Propagation of the new location of your Region can take several hours to complete. [ ]The The Knowledge Base Notes that moving your private region causes links made from the Picks tab of the Profile window to become inaccurate. Apparently the link locations in Picks are text data and unsearchable, preventing them from being updated.
  20. Rya Nitely wrote: Elvina Ewing wrote: what i noticed at the time when it settled down on 252 (last week or so) there were like 56 million or so on buy orders... Not so anymore... Maybe there's just too many sellers and not enough buyers? The limit sell orders are almost always filled by market buy orders, which are usually placed in the viewer. This is where the majority of buying comes from. It doesn't come from the buy side, as seen on the LindeX. Market buy orders (like those placed in the viewer) do not appear on the buy side of the LindeX because they are filled instantly from the sell side. You can often see the sell side go down in very small volumes when you refresh. These are your typical small market buy orders being filled. It's almost a continuous flow. The buy side of the LindeX does NOT show demand for L$, as most of the demand is coming from market buy orders, not limit buy orders. What you are seeing on the buy side are limit buy orders only, people who have specified a price. However, I have noticed that a weak volume on the buy side can cause the LindeX exchange rate to increase. I've observed this behaviour - If a very big market sell order is placed it can wipe out the top levels on the buy side in one hit, taking it from 264 to 270. The difference in the spread attracts traders. Once traders start buying and selling they soon start to compete by placing their sell orders at higher levels, thus pushing the exchange rate up on the sell side. I watched this happen a week ago. It took about two days for the buy side to correct itself back to a 10L spread, but it took the sell side up by L$2, and it's staying there. I was just about going to restate this but.........Oh Yeah... What Rya stated !
