why Marketplace has to be against sim location shopping? why cant they coexist? the merchant gets the lindens, the client gets the product, everybody happy. what im saying is to bring the Marketplace inworld, because right now is outside, that will work in favor of increasing the inworld experience because people would not have to open a web browser and stop using the viewer to buy the product from the Marketplace. buying in the Marketplace or in a sim store its about choice, i prefer very much to buy in the Marketplace, i have filters in number of prims, price, i dont have that searching in sim stores, i have to face lag, i have to face rezzing all those posters of products also with all the textures of the store and people around with their increase of lag, its about choice, we should have that choice, you could go to sim stores and buy your things, the rest of the people who prefer it my way, should be given the option. many dont know the Marketplace exists, for the reason i stated in my other post and that reduce their choice as to only shop in a sim store, why would that burden has to be imposed on them when they can buy things more easely? is not fair that because we like something one way we should stop everybody else to do it another way. in fact if possible we should have as much choices as possible to buy a product.

it would be very useful if we could have Marketplace search results in it, for the following reasons: Marketplace is unknown for many residents, because usually when people download a software, they rarely come back to the website they download it from. this reduce significantly the number of potential customers for Marketplace merchants, to only the users who come back to the website and have find out about it. having Marketplace products listed in search results would have the following benefits: it will make the Marketplace products available to everyone who uses search, expanding dramatically the potential customers to the Marketplace merchants. this will make the Marketplace a very useful tool for Second Life business, becoming a mass media for their products. this will expand the range of products offered, giving the users of Marketplace much more choices. it will give a boost to the Second Life economy, since merchants would have more revenue to invest in making higher quality products, and it will be easier for them to sustain paying for land in a long term. the user will benefit in that it will have the choice of buying the product right there, or teleport to the store if s/he choose so. search will benefit from the filters that are already functional in Marketplace, such as, number of prims, price range, and permissions it will refine search results, reducing the gaming of it, making it even more relevant, since merchants wont have the need to include the products they wish to sell in the description of the place. computer resources will drop down, increasing the speed of the viewer, because it will not be necessary anymore to have a web browser and the viewer open at the same time. it will improve the immersion experience, by not needing to get out of the viewer for another Second Life related function. hope you consider this feedback weighting in how much would this improve the user experience. congratulations for your hard work Linden Lab!

they really need to develop LCDs and Plasmas with the same flexibility of customization that CRT has. they offer a limited refresh rate and it looks weird if you dont use the resolution they want you to use, bummer an increased refresh rate makes a big difference in image in a screen of 240Hz vs a 60hz, i dont know if you seen the comparison.

i would recommend looking for a monitor that can handle at least 100 Hertz in refresh rate in a resolution you feel comfortable with, because a slow drawing of your screen can hurt your eyes, imagine having a light bulb flickering slowly in front of your eyes, after a while, you will feel pain, the faster the flicking is, your eyes recieve it better as a solid image, causing less eye strain, making you see your screen more comfortably, with more solid colors, a more solid image also help with the coordination of your both eyes, helping with the 3D effect. another thing to consider, size of monitor is not equal to resolution, if you want a fast experience, you can lower the resolution of your big screen, you can also increase the resolution for more details but it will make things slower and it will be difficult to have your refresh rate at healthy levels.

why don you try 99 and see if the same bug appears? maybe you can get the appearance youre looking for without the bug

would be interesting to have a race of mod cars, see who can adjust here and there in scripts to gain maximum performance, to test the capabilities of speed in SL are there also other vehicles racing? like aeroplanes? or maybe boat racing?

i see it in chronological order too, what i found difficult is that we dont have the posts threaded and open anymore, we can have them threaded, but we just see the titles, so, its kind of hard to know when someone answer to which comment i miss too, very much, makes me sad to see that many didnt survive, but its better to become hard, grab the tools that are around, and keep walking RIP to those who drown with the old forums

since some of the racers are scripters, are they allowed to optimize their engine to win the race? what makes them more skilled? the speed of their cars?

i dont know exactly, but it seems some features are assigned to work with just one processor by default, when you acitvate RenderDeferred the load gets distributed to both processors, or, some load that is on the processor where everything happens get moved to the second processor

im wearing something like this today i use cargos most of the time and love those shirts with old logos in them

for many people money is a social status, a demonstration of power, so i guess they brag about their money to show how valuable they are, and if you are convinced that they are valuable, you may pay the price because you may think they are worth it

we are still around, finding our ways in the new house, some got lost in the basement and cant find the way out, some are staying outside watching from the outside and cant find the door to enter the house, trying out the windows. some are scared of the moderators like monsters under the bed and dont dare to uncover the sheets and post, some are missing their favorite room and dont find a room where they can put their things. we are still adapting, to a various rooms house instead of a single big room where everybody hanged. i already learned some of the rooms and what are they for, and choosen my favorite ones, youre going to see my posts usually around the "second life" part of the house, and in the spanish room.

Im sure you been a great mother, your son got married and is having a great family, and your daugther is studying getting prepared for life, enjoying all those special moments in life like the prom, without your help they wouldnt have got to where they are now. it feels like passing the torch, thats life. your mother was succesful in giving you her love and the attention you need and you started your own family, you are a succesful mother too, you got them to this point, congratulations, you are doing good.

i dont think is going to affect the temperature that much, what is basically doing is allowing more web pages to be displayed inside the viewer, and they run faster releasing the burden on them, it would be something like having your web browser open while you have the viewer open at the same time, i dont think theres gonna be any problem, since the only times you open webpages inside the viewer is when you use search or web profiles, and the destination guide at the same time, that would be around 3 webpages

i think they are v2 specific because it has to do with the slplugin.exe that controls web media in the viewer, when i moved the PluginInstanceTotal, Destination Guide and Search stopped working, it mean that things like web profiles would stop working by now, affects everything that comes as a webpage, like media on a prim. maybe viewers that are based on v1 that support media on a prim have this instruction

to the PluginInstances ones i tought there was a downside because i couldnt load the search, but i just leaved PlugInInstancesTotal like it is and everything works fine, havent got any problems with it, you can always reset it to default if you see any problem. the number -2147483648 is what you are going to see as the value instead of the 99999999 i dont think you need a top-notch machine to run them, when i doscovered this values i was using an AMD 1.6 Gigahertz, with 512m of RAM with an nVidia Geforce4 mx 4000, not very much. i dont know if the difference of speed will be very noticable on a top notch machine, because those machines are so fast, that any increase in speed is not noticeable.

i always modify this ones to speed up the viewer after installation PluginInstancesCPULimit = 9999999999 PluginInstancesCPULow = 9999999999 PluginInstancesCPUNormal = 9999999999 they change to the number -2147483648 , and everything works fine and faster RenderFogRatio = 9999999999 , as far away as i can, helps a lot with speed and you can see farer WaterGLFogDensityScale = 0.004 , you can see clearer under water and works faster if you have two processors: RenderDeferred = TRUE RenderDeferredAlphaSoften = 0 RenderDeferredGI = TRUE RenderDeferredSSAO = TRUE so they load of the world will be shared among the processors

maybe if you have capabilities to rez things you can build a second floor over your house, or a third floor too you could build 4 columns around your house, a ladder, and build another house up there with as many floors as you like
