  1. My username was always a kludge, having come up with it after roughly my first 50 attempts were already taken; I recently read and loved the book Starling House so here goes. Premium Plus made it a less intimidating price lol.
  2. Yes there was a stealth LaraX from Belle Epoque last month, I think it was Collabor88? Anyway it was a gown and fit Old!Lara surprisingly badly so I tried it on X and it was perfect. Valentina has an X outfit at Anthem just today!
  3. No, though you'll want to try it out on the mesh body and head you want to use, to see if it even looks good. It'll work on any avatar, in the sense that it'll let you rez and not be a permacloud, but it'll look really different depending on what you're applying it to.
  4. A shape is a set of numbers; every shape will look different on classic bodies and on each different mesh body, because they respond differently to the numbers. To rez, you need shape, system hair (mostly used for brow shape now), skin, and eyes. A mesh body is optional. Both the shape and the skin affect what your face looks like. A lot of face skins are designed to look best on a specific head, but you can use them on a different head if you like how it looks. The bad news is that skin and shape makers sometimes photoshop their pictures so they don't look much like the inworld look. You can sometimes get a demo--there'll be something weird about it (like giant hands) so that it's not just giving away the shape for free.
  5. Ooooh! Great news. I wonder if they'll update the Estelle skirt. If it were RL I'd have holes in it by now, as much as I've worn it!
  6. Vlad Blackburn's BOM Outfitters: https://marketplace.secondlife.com/stores/25970/search?utf8=✓&search[category_id]=&search[maturity_level]=GMA&search[keywords]=bom+outfitters The "High Fashion" top became especially useful to me--it's tintable and the neckline looked natural with a lot of retro-styled dresses.
  7. And thank you for the tip about the event! I've also unpacked a really nice set of poses I can use when he models stuff.
  8. And it's a really nice hair! That gift is actually how I figured out what to look for at the other booths.
  9. The gifts are in drink cans, and in most cases are hanging from the top of the booths. My poor alt TP'd in and out a couple of times thinking I had packet loss, because I didn't see any boxes on the floor! 🤣
  10. I've been using it now for about a week and I really like it. It has a similar look to what I liked in Legacy, but with less complexity. I do plan to keep switching between it and 5.3 for some time, as I have looks fearfully at inventory more 5.3 clothes than I even want to think about.
  11. As for events, yeah, they cost money; once you've been selling stuff for a while, event organizers may reach out to you. Some also have forms where you can apply. If you want to get a little publicity without spending much, I recommend getting involved in hunts! It does mean giving away something for free or a few lindens, but it gets people TPing into your store and seeing your other stuff. And many hunts are free to get involved in. huntsl.com is a good place to check out what hunts there are.
  12. Very good point. I was making a poodle skirt--when testing it with one of my AOs, it became a dachshund skirt. 😂 But it won't with everyone's AO.
  13. As a person who creates things with templates, I hate it when this happens, but the trouble is that I don't own all the bodies. I'm seriously considering keeping a pile of body demos around--I did get the demo of LoveMomma once because the item looked so weird that I couldn't imagine it fitting anything, but on the body demo it looked fine.
  14. Lux Aeterna, Maraschino (also has some good hairs and accessories for the period), Auradacious
  15. You just listed most of the stores I was going to recommend. 🤣 Octubre, which was LuluB until about a month ago, does a lot of little particle and holdy things that might be worth looking at.
  16. Yep. I joined in early 2021, so too late for the free Lilly, and bought a Lilly full price a few months later. That was after running around with Genus Strong for a few months.
  17. Yeah, that's kind of where I'm at. Part of why I liked Lilly was the upturned nose, but that cupid's bow on Noel is so cute, ARGH.
  18. I got the Noel for my main. My alts, on basic accounts, haven't gotten in yet, but I also didn't try extensively. Now in a debate about whether I prefer the Noel to my existing Lilly or not--I think I like Lilly's nose and Noel's lips, why can't I just combine them? Lol.
  19. I'm in love with that Pixicat outfit. There's definitely a fatpack in my future.
  20. I actually doubt it--I really do see (and own) scads of EvoX BOM, from Velour and Izzie's and Alaskametro and Fontaine just to name a few that I can think of off the top of my head. I would say both are thriving. It may be a matter of seeing what one is looking for.
  21. Oooh! That Rome outfit is one of my favorite casual ensembles, redelivery here I come!
  22. There are appliers if you use HD. I personally find the HD applier system annoying and avoid it unless I really want a specific look that's only in HD. There is literally so.much. EvoX bom makeup. I'm drowning in it lol.
  23. One more thing--I started out with a Genus head, and I don't know if they ever updated to a universal neck fit or not, so if she keeps having trouble after fixing her skin tones, try having a gander at this: https://7deadlyskinssl.wordpress.com/troubleshooting-neck-line/ If you go down to the part about neck size it gives you something to try in the Maitreya hud. Sometimes a mismatch in neck size will manifest as looking like the wrong color.
