  1. I'd settle for a roadmap too, anything which doesn't read like 'Tilia, Tilia, Tilia...'
  2. Some stores for Fantasy clothing: PFC Noble Creations The Forge L'Emporio And the monthly < 3 RP event that occurs on the sim, Riverhunt.
  3. I haven't seen the actual percentage for cashing out, in another thread I estimated the creator receives only 8.5% of their earnings. For every $100 made: Roblox takes a 75.5% cut of earnings = $24.5 remaining When cashing out, Roblox takes a further 65% = $8.5 for the developer Each celebrity must be negotiating their own percentage, else some day soon Zara Larsson will open her account expecting $1M, only to find $85k. A sum Roblox could argue is a reasonable annual wage for employees who've generated $1M for their employer. And judging by the speed of Roblox's growth, which is almost entirely user driven, the creators are in agreement.
  4. With the phone and Internet, a user still has some control over their privacy by limiting the apps they install and using VPNs. The metaverse has no opt-outs, every transaction, every human interaction, every scripted engagement, even the direction your avatar is facing and the duration they're focused onto any object will be recorded. Virtual worlds are synonymous with mass surveillance. AI will monitor humans at work in the metaverse too, then replace them. Yeah, that sweet waifu hostess you thought was flirting is actually code. As to brainwashing in VR, it has the potential of becoming magnitudes more intense than television. Where 'news' outlets have shaped impressionable minds for decades, interfering with their ability to reason, and controlling who they'll next vote for. And for something fun, one of the finest films from the 80s, Videodrome, took media brainwashing to a whole other level. (Trailer contains some freaky scenes of body horror).
  5. There are some ridiculous attitudes in this thread. It's only acceptable if the group's description explicitly states members will be ejected after xx days of inactivity. Otherwise the assumption is towards permanent membership, as has been standard practice in SL. Unfortunately there's no recourse for the OP, it's a situation where you live and learn, and don't engage with that club of bottom feeders again.
  6. If anything, I'd expect to see something at the SL Christmas Expo (& Winter Breedable Fair)
  7. Somehow I've been introduced to the underground world of Japanese kei campers (more here).
  8. I like that channel, this always makes me laugh:
  9. Making Outfits helps you stay minimal. The only permanent HUD I use is the AO, everything else attaches depending on the outfit. The base(naked) avatar has an AO, Mama-Allpa, Physics-P HUDs and related attachments. All other outfits are built from this base. I use two folders for making outfits, it begins in Clothing > Outfits > "Outfit name". Create a new folder here, copy in your shape and items of clothing. Detach the bits/HUDs no longer needed and wear everything you want, then CTRL+O and 'Save As', with a name for the new outfit. In your inventory is the default Outfits folder, all new outfits are saved to here. Right-click any outfit in there and switch between them in seconds. The reason for starting new outfits with a shape is, the shape needs tweaking for some clothing. Suits particularly look smarter on slimmer shapes. And some RP/fantasy outfits are complimented by muscle mass. The Outfits folder is optimal for someone like myself, who might switch from sci-fi, fantasy or urban looks within the space of minutes. And it loads the HUDs/attachments I need for each venue.
  10. My main source of income this year was from being trolled. It started with someone who convinced herself I was the alt of her RL lesbian lover. So, as you do, I went along with it. Until I realized they were serious and I was receiving mountains of NC and IM spam from their past conversations. I tried to tell them they had the wrong person, but it dragged on for months. For the first time ever I resorted to muting someone. But her alts kept popping up and I began muting them with less engagement. So they stared sending me L$1 at a time, with a message. It's received as a notice popup even from muted avatars and is fairly annoying. This continued for months longer, and still happens on occasion when I login.
  11. So that's what happened to Jerry Springer. Hellbound is a new series out of Korea
  12. SL works well for photography, the sheer volume of content will keep it ahead in this space through the 2020s. Furnishing, landscaping and creating spaces gives a lot of people satisfaction which SL also excels at. It's also an excellent platform for roleplaying, but the community themselves haven't taken advantage of the SL Experience and Animesh. Adoption has been slow with Experiences on RP sims used only for the attachment of HUDs and gateway teleporters, which is around 5% of their potential. It's neither an accusation at LL, nor the community, creating a complete gaming system is a monumental task requiring a team of creators. That dream team just hasn't formed yet. I want to say user creativity, which SL was great for. Yet compared to other platforms SL's tools are antiquated now, at this stage it's a platform hacked together from different generations of technology. User creativity is still the defining currency of SL, without it the grid would never have thrived.
  13. The usual step is to clear your cache, then from the login screen set your location to a region like Smith, and login. If the issue persists, you dive down a rabbit hole of alternative solutions.
  14. Take a look around Mitsumi town: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/R2%20Fashion/65/150/1105
  15. The legless Facebook Horizons is not their metaverse. In the future they will scan your RL self and digitize a likeness of you into their metaverse. Presumably you could sell your likeness to others, or build a collection of celebrity avatars to use. The VR headsets too will be capable of digitizing your environment on the fly, whether you're in a room, or along a walk, your surrounding is scanned, translated into mesh and textured in real time. Meta doesn't want to be 'The Metaverse', they want to be 'The Gateway' into the metaverse, through which every account is created and every transaction is recorded. Just as Google and Apple are to their app stores. Just as we don't consider them when installing apps, people won't enter the metaverse thinking of Meta. With thousands of independent worlds all connected to a central metaverse, gives Meta an insight into every virtual life, it goes beyond spending and social habits, they will literally know how long your avatar spent interacting with another, the context and text/audio files of the meeting. Governments will conveniently overlook these breaches in privacy since the NSA/GCHQ and agencies around the world will all have backdoors into this metaverse too.
  16. Legacy landed at the right time, when the options were Lara and a seemingly abandoned Freya. My interpretation of the whole scene is, men generally prefer curvier avatars. Sometimes people complain to you that no one roleplays with them(On RP sims), I'd tell them to put on some booty. It sounds ridiculous but from my observations larger avatars get more attention.
  17. Have you tried resetting to the default avatar. At the top left of your screen, click on Avatar > Avatar Health > Reset Default Male/Female I don't think RLV would affect your situation you can try turning it off if the above doesn't work and reset again.
  18. Episode 1 feels like forced indoctrination into feminism. The opening line is 'Men destroyed the world, women picked up the pieces...' and it's a downhill ride from there. I don't want to spoil anything but the next scene is hilarious. Production values are on par with Shadow and Bone and The Shannara Chronicles, a little quirky but I liked them. So I'm gonna manspread and brave the next episode.
  19. RL associates? No. It's like that meme 'When my family walked in, I switched from Second Life to Roblox. That was easier to explain.' I'd only recommend SL for it's ropleplaying scene, which itself is teetering along. The freedom to create any scene and roleplay just about anything is SL's strength.
  20. It could have been worse, at Activision-Blizzard levels of scandal. At 50 minutes long, this video tries to summarize the past months' revelations.
  21. The Not Found skins are at the Inithium event, which opened today. I didn't see any other variants of the Kario skin which are supposedly in the works. http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/The Inithium Event/135/88/22 The Kario body is priced at 3999. At the event stand there's no mention of the 'starter pack' listed in the flickr promo.
  22. Stories like these are the future of the metaverse.
  23. Julala Demina's store Jinx was the go to for horse mods, on her sim were vendors from other creators too (Can't say if this is still the case). https://marketplace.secondlife.com/stores/52351 The Water Horse sim also has a market and demo horses to ride. The older versions are Bento, the recent ones are Animesh. Sold separately.
  24. For the first time in my SL I was tweaking the nipple aesthetics. With 12 styles and 3 swell levels, it's a mind boggling 36 nipples by default. The highest swell setting is a borderline lactation experience. I know, I can feel the envy from female body users already.
  25. My fashionista days are behind me, so these are the few commonly used skins I recognize: Stray Dog, excellent faces but bland body skins. The improved bodies have yet to be released. Session Skins, marginally improved body, but limited range of faces. Not Found, a good range of faces and their defined, muscular bodies have made them the default choice. When I was picking up the Inithium demo, there was talk of alternative skins being available from the upcoming event. If these skins can be worn on Legacy/Jake/Gianni, then it'll make for an interesting combination with Stray Dog's faces. My thoughts on Kario is it's a sidegrade from Legacy Athletic, unless going full nuclear with Flex's muscle mass, my shapes end up fairly similar. The Not Found body skin works well on Kario too(an option for a less defined look), the only anomaly I caught was a horizontal seam just above the ankles. For all the heat male bodies take on being overly muscular, there're actually few options for muscular skins. With Kario's upcoming selection of skins, 2022 will be the year of buff avatars.
