    I never said it would do that. If it were so useless it wouldn't be recommended for older PCs to clear the memory. But what do I know. I just built and sold the damned things.

    Something does change when rebooting the modem/router and that is the reason for rebooting the pc at the time. Sometimes that is what it takes for the pc to pick up on the new IP. Otherwise, people would be screaming they can't get online. So, no, rebooting the pc by itself isn't going to change anything but rebooting the modem does. Restarting the pc clears memory of anything "stuck" which is always a good thing to clear.

    Some people just can't accept the fact that an actual bookkeeper/account knows wtf 1099s are and what they are used for. We just have to fill/file the damn things out with the information we have accumulated over the year. As the OP reiterated, the issue wasn't with the form but with the method of transmitting the SS# which they are correct, sending it by email is unacceptable.

    I said Millions, not Billions. This is one chance you should have passed up because I really don't care. As I said in my post (rephrased) I don't need millions of results, much less billions. Over the decades I have watched it go from a few hundred/thousand to millions to billions. That growth coincided with the growth of the amount of information available "online". Chrome isn't the only browser I use/have used. What other people think has no influence on my choices.

    Personal Peeves: Valentine's Day/reminders. My dad passed on Valentine's Day. Not something I'll ever forget. 💔 January 6th was my mother's birthday. Thanks Trump. 🤬 9/11 ruined my birthday even more than it already was. 😶 Which holiday/birthday is next? 🤔 🤷‍♀️

    Must be why I have always preferred inworld shopping to the MP. For me, both XStreet and the MP were never anything more than a catalog to find what I'm looking for while purchases are always made inworld. If there is no inworld store than I have to decide if I want to purchase on the MP. If I don't find something comparable elsewhere. If the MP item is not marked for redelivery, I won't buy. Oddly enough that is a deciding factor for me.

    I remember when you could type in an actual question and get thousands of results. I was "perfectly pleased" with that. No one needs millions of results to choose from. These days actual questions seem to confuse the search engines. On top of that, now they are trying to force me to use the AI feature. HELL NO! It's not something I need or even want.

    I found something that works every time quite by accident. Got one of those calls where they threaten to throw you in jail for non-payment from a "collection agency". The call was for his ex whom there has been no contact with for 24 years, more than 2 decades. As soon as I heard her name I started screaming, informing them of the above because after 24 years it just pissed me off along with a few other choice facts. Once they learned she has never lived here and there has been no contact for 24 years, they hung up. This was the third call from them. They haven't called back since. 🤣

    Oh, but it does apply. Just ask LL. If it didn't LL/Tilia wouldn't bother with any 1099s. Nor would any other business required by law to file them. See the bolded part? That is aka cashing out. How should I know who won the car? I didn't even enter the contest because I can't afford the damn thing and would have to sell it immediately. Oh I know. Believe me I know. As someone who has been in the accoun6ting field a few decades that first thing I would have done after receiving that email is get on the phone with HQ and start chewing some butt for risking my ID and finances. Once you've had your ID stolen you don't eff around. My apologies for going off on a related siderail.

    Peeve: Hubster got new job outside of home and in less than 2 weeks he brings home Covid to me. He's had all the vaccinations; I've only had the first 3. He's had it far worse than me though. All this has lead me to discover that by state law, if you contract Covid you can't return to work for 10 days. Of course, it couldn't have happened at a worse financial moment. 🤬🤒

    Not only is this a terrible thing to say, it has never been true in the past 20 years. If I'm on the wrong platform, simply because other people choose to present differently than they are in real life and I do not, then so is every other resident. People can either be upfront and real or they can piss off. I'm not interested in playing mind games.
