It isn't always "cheaper" to toss something still usable and buy a brand new one made from finite resources. Sorry, I just have a hard time watching people waste so much while the landfills bury us under garbage. 🥺

    2003 (SL opened to public) to 2013 is one decade. 2013 to 2023 is the second decade. While it is true Linden Research was founded in 1999 at the time the focus was on hardware, not software.     I would and I would definitely include the work around. They should already have the demo if they've bought the product, unless of course they got a little ahead of themselves and deleted the demo.

    I don't have an aversion to using voice. It's the people I try to converse with that have an aversion to having to repeat things they say several times before I can understand what they said. People with high frequency hearing loss do not hear consonants very well. D's sound like p's sound like t's sound like g's... you get the idea. Can't read lips in SL. I just don't see the point in putting other people through hell and ending up with no friends. Oh wait. That already happened. Oops. Once LL deployed the voice morphing code, voice verification was rendered moot. I won't mention how much harder it is to understand someone using a voice morph. In many ways, people with hearing loss/deafness have a much harder time online than those who are dyslexic. I will admit I would much rather lose what is left of my hearing than lose what is left of my eyesight.

    You are (probably unintentionally) discriminating against some of the best creators in SL simply because they are deaf or have hearing loss. Not a good look. You might want to rethink your policy.

    I think it will last for her until she has to clear texture cache. She is the only one who can see it any way. Unless there have been changes made I'm unaware of, only the uploader will ever be able to see "local" textures and they do not persist from one log in to the next. The only reason there appears to be any retention is due to the texture being cached. Hm. Come to find out local/temp textures apparently do get assigned a UUID so even though it can't be seen by anyone else (and in this case no one else needs to see it) the texture can be "retained" as described in this old article: https://aywren.com/2018/05/01/second-life-quick-tip-local-textures/ See: Getting the Local Texture UUID

    Do several on one image like so: and so: I normally buy poses in packs, and they invariably include an image like the ones above, so I just have folders named for each pack and include the image even if I have to yoink it from the MP. 🤫

    I am curious as to why they would pick you to try to drag into whatever this is supposed to be. On the other hand, I probably should have already written it off as a wasted gotcha moment on their part. 🤷‍♀️
