  1. Thank you. I forgot all about rounding. I need to stop coding for the night. Thank you so much, really appreciated
  2. I really should know this but its 3.33am and im 7 hours into a 12 hour shift and im tired and my brain just is having a "blank moment" on this piece of code So, integer i=0; float alpha=1.0; while(++i<=10){ alpha-=0.1; llSetLinkPrimitiveParamsFast(tLink,[ PRIM_TEXT,llList2String(pStr,1),<1.0,1.0,1.0>,alpha ]); llSleep(1.0); llOwnerSay((string)alpha); } Why is this returning a bounds error when alpha reaches 0.1. What glaringly obvious thing am I missing here that I am going to kick myself over once I realise what it is.
  3. Your profile picture scares me...like it’s inviting me in only to strike a few seconds later 😅.
  4. Ya ever get that inkling that they all the same person
  5. That’s very true, you can, but that’s assuming the developer has selected the correct category and more often than not I find that some items are categorised correctly and others are missed out as they are not. What I was suggesting was custom categories. So, il give a better example than earlier as I had only just woken up at that point. You have a developer and let’s say they head two projects. Project 1 : Mesh body called “Avatar Ultra” Project 2 : Motion Capture AO’s With my idea you could create a new category called “Avatar Ultra” and then under that category you could create sub categories for each of the clothing types for that particular body or perhaps add existing categories to your custom category. The same goes for the AO project. When creating a new category you could upload an icon and then when you enter a persons store you see a series of tiles with the category name beneath or even simpler...the custom categories appear on the left side panel. To use myself as an example, I have three separate combat systems that I maintain and I have that spread out over three dedicated alts. If we could create custom categories / sub folders I could collate all of those systems onto a single account and then sell their products via a single store. At the minute if I was to do that it would look like a coders jumble sale 😅.
  6. Think of it as being similar to sub folders on your computer / custom categories. You visit someone’s marketplace and instead of seeing all of their items for sale, instead you see 5 or 6 “sub folders” each one having its own icon and name. One could be named “Jewellery” another “Female AO’s” or one could be named for a specific project such as “Qie’s Ultimate Combat System”. You then click on this “folder” and it loads everything to do with that particular project/category. Think how handy it would be in the case of stores that have over 900 pages of products. Rather than trawling through page after page of everything mixed together you could separate it all into their own individual sub categories. “Male Pants”, “Male Tops”, “Female Pants”, “Accessories”, “Demos”, “Gacha”. At the minute you have the grand old choice of “Apparel” which loads anything and everything relating to “All of the above”. And yes, I use special rules to automatically sort out my emails into folders. I have one folder for work stuff, receipts for online purchases, web server.. I don’t use it on everything, just the stuff I consider important.
  7. I’d give anything just to be able to actually sort and categorise my store into sub folders instead of EVERYTHING WITH KEYWORDS
  8. No, as in. It’s included in the premium 1 year offer. As In part of the package. Then after that you pay if you ever want to change it again. So you would basically have the following options : Pay a years premium and get a name change included at account creation or Pay for it later by paying a month and getting the name change on top for $52 or whatever. Which may sound like the more attractive offer but it isn’t when you take into account that for $40 more you are gaining an extra 11 months of premium and 48 more weeks of stipend. Could even be marketed as $40 cheaper than doing it after
  9. Il be honest with you Oz. That is something you should really consider. Perhaps added to the yearly payment option when creating a new account. Might tempt more people at account creation into becoming premium and added on at that level for new accounts means they would stay premium for a whole year and possibly extend by another
  10. And I raise you https://m.facebook.com/LADbible/videos/4430208633692959/
  11. Lord...log out once in a while, see a friend, catch a movie, find a partner, make love, hug a tree, do a jigsaw or something.
  12. Mo Mews like “Yo, can’t we get some mo mews up in here”. Think kittens everywhere mewing loudly.
  13. I really do wish they would have a requirement that the new first names can’t start or end with a number though. Carter1 or 1992Carter is an offence to the eyes. C4rt3r I can handle 😂
  14. Tissue? 😜. Separate note : I am okay with the cost. It’s around what I figured it would be anyway. Between $25-$45. I have an alt that has been screaming for a name change for years so if she doesn’t win the contest then the lindens shall have my cold, hard earned rubies.
  15. So, I know that to slow an avatars speed I could use llApplyImpulse or llSetForce but I was wondering if there were any more effective methods I could use to apply friction to the avatar so the walking/running speed is halved?
  16. SL has always had toxic people. It’s always had griefers, bullies, nut jobs, psychopaths and all manner of people in between. Here are some simple truths : 1. You have a block button 2. You don’t have to respond to anyone on voice or IM. You can ignore them, block them and just move on. 3. You don’t have to log into SL. 4. Stay away from adult regions. 5. Most important. SL is not for the faint of heart or those who are easily offended. It never has been, will be, shall be. It is a melting pot of attitudes and cultures that gives people some sense of anonymity in their actions. It’s a place where a overweight person can be a beautiful supermodel, a trans person can be whoever and whatever they want to be, a disabled home bound person can walk and travel. But, On the other hand, it can also be a place to express a side of yourself that you might not otherwise present in RL and a place where you can say things that might wel get you in trouble in RL. I really don’t know what else to say to you besides...welcome to Second Life. If it’s too much for you, log out and go play WOW or something.
