I'm sorry, I meant to leave all the memes and cackling to just that one lovely evening, but I've just seen this. There was also the time that someone, I can't remember who, insulted an opponent by accusing him of coming from "the Ed Balls Academy of Windbag Rhetoric", so for these two things alone, I guess he's worth it.

This post reminds me of what a revelation SL was for making me realise how much of this stuff is in the mind. Not all of it, of course, but a surprising amount. I found it did work in reverse, to a degree. I was living in a very cold and draughty place at the time and parking my avatar in some hot springs or on a sun-soaked beach didn't warm me up like it would have in reality, but it took the edge off it a bit.

You are of course quite right. With the way this year has gone, though, I am really, really, really enjoying having some good news for once, and the memes are just out of this world. I'm sure I'll calm down a bit by tomorrow, but for now, I'm just enjoying it all so much. I needed this. We all needed this. That pic is real, by the way.

Most of these jokes are more about his absolute lack of grace and statesmanship in defeat than the actual defeat itself. And that says a lot.
