  1. On the subject of voice.....it's 2019.....sure I never phone friends in RL, its all text. I phone family, but in the case of my mother it can be hard going, but she doesn't text! So I phone when I have something to say worth saying. Here it would spoil the experience for me, and others have covered the rest.
  2. Got to ask Sylvia, what's that blonde hair?????
  3. Just play around with the settings until you find something which suits your style. We all approach it from different angles so there's no right way. Whatever you do you're welcome here.
  4. I do pretty much the same. I don't usually go for very high quality resolution either, and then after setting windlight, and shadows, I keep refreshing until I get what I like, and send it to my e-mail. There I can pick the best few. A lot never get here or flickr. Only maybe one in ten of those which get as far as e-mail.
  5. It was the cocktail dresses and stilettos that took me hostage here. I still don't have enough and maybe never will. "To The Marketplace!" Is my daily mantra....👩‍💻
  6. There's something about the biker girl look, and hot throbbing machinery.....😛
  7. Ellie will be along in a minute in her biker gear! 🙂
  8. I don't mean all getting the stipend! And only one home.... Just the ability to tp into busy sims and premium sim access. I have simple needs here so the land and building stuff is of no interest to me. Maybe unused premium perks should be transferable........
  9. This is such a complex and well aired subject. Quotas try to address one issue, by often creating another. Where I worked, there was equal pay, so a big tick. But there were lots of other issues which drove dissent in the ranks. It was the typical large office environment, where there was an inner circle of favourites, who generally speaking could do no wrong. The day to day business was intensive ...being audit and investigation....so people found ways to avoid this by doing project work, or managing staff. It was much easier to progress up the grades by not doing the core business, and so many of the senior managers had little knowledge of the core business, and made decisions accordingly which were usually unpopular and resented by the workers...... In that environment, women did very well in terms of progression, but some created an environment of bitchiness, and manipulation of situations for self promotion. There was less of this evident from the men, although there was a clique of hard drinking 'old boys club' going on. When you don't fit into these groups, it can be hard going at times. So my own experience is very mixed. Equal pay is good, and still quite unusual. But it didn't create a happy environment. In fact the atmosphere was corrosive and without trust. Some staff took a delight in running to the boss, telling tales! For a while I did some recruitment, and promotion panels. Gender was never considered, and we were often recruiting for a team based elsewhere, so we couldn't consider how someone might fit in. There was never a quota. At interview, generally speaking the women were better prepared, and more articulate than the men. Generally speaking! My experience is solely in big offices, and I was relieved to get away from the politics which gets very hard to stomach, day after day.
  10. SL has taught me how to relax, and build my creative side. So I'm more chilled in RL and I have a better understanding of who I am.
  11. Forgiveness is a more important lesson.........just saying
  12. So are we any nearer a concensus? What started out as an SL matter (as I read it), has crossed over into RL. Obviously interesting topic but there isn't a fix. I've seen far worse interactions in RL than in SL. I have been bullied, and sexually harrassed at work, but they never have an easy fight, because my childhood taught me to confront such people and take the fight to them. Sexual harrassment and innuendo was endemic where I worked, so to challenge it meant being labelled a troublemaker, so it was often shrugged off. This was in a business suit environment, so attire was pretty much irrelevant. Bullying is different though and has to be confronted. The biggest fight I had was only a few years ago, when performance marking changed so ten percent of staff had to be marked improvement needed. Short version coming up.... I was told by my manager that my attitude was impacting staff morale across our Region, which was about six offices around thirty miles apart (which I rarely visited). When challenged he couldn't provide any evidence, other than his opinion was evidence enough. So this escalated slowly into a major disagreement. I met with his manager who simply closed ranks. I took it to grievance and appeal, but in each case they closed ranks, even though the guidance was clear that we had an evidence based process. They were all guys, and this is relevant to what happened next. Before taking this to employment tribunal, I contacted the grade above my managers manager, at head office in London. She listened. She invited me to a meeting. I spent the day with her, and guess what...... she fixed the problem, and quite a few backsides got kicked. Had I not been OCD, with an eye for detail, and good with words, they would have prevailed. That took eighteen months, sometimes almost unbearable stress levels, but I had to stand and fight those bullies. Attitudes like this won't change, at least not as quick as we would like. And oh yes, after that, I got left alone!
  13. The short version. Guy hits me up on the beach and compliments my Flickr page. Gushingly. Ok. "Shields Up" Tells me he has an art gallery which he would like to show me. "Whats your style" I ask..... evasive "Should I change?" "No its a private gallery" Ok I go along with this, hoping against hope he has an art gallery. I rezz there. It's nude porn, sex acts, some with blood. I tp home. "Not my style" I told him "Whats wrong? he said, it's only art, I was hoping we could collaborate" 😖
  14. Not a great start to my SL day....trouble logging in....due to "maintenance"....GRRRRRR! I was getting frustrated, but finally got in, and then my apartment sim shut down....and stayed shut down for a long time...…. I needed to mess with outfits, which meant some naked time....so I went around a few of my favourite sims, but none were totally deserted, and I hate spectators...….. So...I went to Lutz and plunged into the sea...….it was so peaceful standing on the bottom. No voyeurs, and nobody around.....Bliss! Then I thought...…...Hey! this might make a nice picture...……...and I think it does...……
  15. So are we close to getting a mirror? Seems to me that vertically its pretty much there.
