1 second Orb timing, is it necessary
Sammy Huntsman replied to Milissa Rossini's topic in General Discussion Forum
I have a solution for all the explorers who don't want to run into orbs and ban lines. There is literally a HUD out there that will tell you where it is safe and not safe to go. https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/Ban-Line-Explorer-HUD-Professional-Quality-for-Pilots-Boaters-Planes-All-Vehicles-even-Landlords/1269113 Here it is, now invest into that. So you can safely explore non impeded. -

It is not fun especially when you get people who freak the absolute crap out on you, and you are sitting there profusely apologizing in IMs and getting the heck out of there as fast as you got in. Lol. -

I always go to about landmarks now to check to see if that store or place is still there. The amount of times I accidentally tped in, thinking it was a store and it was someones home and they were bumping pixel uglies. Yeah I started to that after a few times of having that happen. Lol -

I think they are entitled to set it however they want. You have no say in how they set it up. Did you pay for their parcel or their orb? -

Well if you come on my line where I have put my orb settings at, then common sense dictates I gotta get you away. But also if you step too close, that is entirely your fault. Especially since i like to leave up signs telling people if you are too close you go home. -

Well common sense dictates, if that person is not moving and in your way. You go to another entrance and go in. -

I mean it is so much harder to ask the orb owner to politely change their settings properly, that they need to have LL to enforce some rules on us. Lol -

I mean if you can't really pass right there, then there are other ways you can go. It is only limiting cause they refuse to turn around and find other ways. -

I am willing to try that, but nothing beats actual beef jerky. But I also enjoy both beyond and real meat sausage patties. Although they do really add the spices into the vegetarian sausage patties. But they are more filling than an actual sausage patty. I can give it that. -

Yeah entitled to have privacy, on wherever their house is. I don't see a problem for someone to protect themselves from intruders. I am sure they could maybe edit their orb a bit. But other than that, they are well within their right to. -

Okay back on topic, however the owner of said orb wants to set their orb. That is their choice. I mean that is what I have been stating the whole time. I don't think I went off topic. -

Well, there are people's houses on the water. So should they not be allowed to protect their little piece of land? Or do they need to just leave it open access, so boaters can come through? I don't see a problem. I mean ban lines are ugly. But you can turn that off in settings. -
Also not gonna lie, I hate how my head is like a freakin barometer RL. Lol. It can tell when storms are a brewing, as I get a headache from the pressure difference. Lol

Its mainly twitter when Flickr said you had to be pro to upload adult content, everyone migrated to twitter. But you see a lot of people liking and retweeting the nudes and lewds.

1 second Orb timing, is it necessary

I was just asking a question. My whole post is basically around the fact that people can set their orbs to however they want. And that LL shouldn't have overarching control of how it should be set on mainland. -
No you are starting to see this thing where people are wanting to move to twitter to post their nudes and lewds and are getting way more attention than say photos like mine. That don't show anything of the sort.

Its not a peeve, but more of a question. So I noticed on social media, when it comes to photos from SL. The most popular ones are the ones that have you damn near naked, and having a happy trail showing and panties that go up your ***** that looks painful get more views than say someone who takes the time to put together a photo that is very modest and its like say you are out eating ice cream or something. Why does the hypersexual pics get more views, but the ones that show next to nothing get less views?

But if you step on someone's property on accident, if they have the strict orb rules. Should you be able to enjoy it unhindered? Or should they have a right to kick you back home? I mean I would say the second one, as I mean once you step into that threshold. You are taking a risk and guess what part of that risk is to deal with the consequences. So if someone isn't so lenient and decides they want to be strict and firm on their security and privacy. That is their right. You shouldn't have a say on how that goes. I am sorry but that is the way things are. But what you are saying is that Lindens should have overarching control on orbs and set regulations, that just make explorers happy. It doesn't take into account the person who owns the orb. Tell me how is that fair? -

Let me just add this for context, not everyone is gonna be lenient with people coming on their land. As they have dealt with previous issues, that may have made them harder to trust and harder to just let anyone in. We don't know their story, so people who are saying they should set it a certain way. Maybe ask why they do? Realize they aren't trying to annoy or hurt or grieve you. They just want their absolute privacy. -

But there are a few people that want LL to have control over what people do when it comes to security on their piece of land. Like basically preapproved orb times and that kind schtick. But what I think should happen is entirely different. People should have the choice to set their orbs or security however they want. Again as I said, that would be like having the government control what we do in our own private homes, down to how we set our security or what we use for security. That would be highly uncalled for.
