  1. I'd never get a suntan. What if we were all conscious of, and grateful for the kindnesses we receive?
  2. Although the UK as a whole has paid more to the EU than it has received back, the ways in which £billions of EU investment has been spent has generated economical gains that have benefited the UK population in multiple ways - supporting agriculture and fisheries to maintain their viability and continue to provide jobs and revenue, development of poorer areas including education and skills development, supporting thousands upon thousands of new businesses and hundreds of thousands of job opportunities every year as well as supporting social cohesion and directing support to disadvantaged families to empower their life choices and give their children more opportunities and choice, not to mention investment in research, education and innovation - essential to the UK's position and progress when UK funding has been cut or withdrawn. These things are not insignificant.
  3. You don't wonder, perhaps, if without EU membership there would now be two fifths of the population living in poverty?
  4. There's no indication that VAT will be going, just that for trade between UK and EU businesses or UK folk buying from abroad it will go through some changes which may (probably will) make goods more expensive for UK residents. The scrapping or reworking of Human, Equality, Employment and Pension rights are a big concern, along with moves to allow govt to force through changes with few protections for the population, damage to the UK economy, loss of EU investment in poorer or under-represented areas, continued cuts to public services such as education and health, deregulation of businesses and environmental impact, loss of freedom to travel, work or study in Europe, and on and on..
  5. Yes. They squeeze our curvy bits for ripeness and and then stamp them with "this one needs an avocao", or not. I don't know how they deliver the avocados. Yet.
  6. Half of them would start a crime ring blackmailing humans and the other half would become well-paid private detectives. Guilty humans would learn to wash and cover their tracks more often. What if, after humans invented the wheel, it had never occured to anyone you could use more than one at a time?
  7. I've just finished episode 2 of the recent BBC Dracula season. It's taken a couple of days, but based on my TV habits, that counts as binge watching to me. I'm not keen on the Count's smarmy bravado, but Agatha Van Helsing more than makes up for it..
  8. painfully disconnected from being able to explore my sense of self, and the loving connections I would surrender to.
  9. Pavement artists would corner the eco-friendly travel revolution. What if we only had to log in to reality once a week or so?
  10. No-one seems to want answer this question Peeve me or pet me, it's your choice.
  11. After a brief period of 'reality', everyone would stop buying tickets. What if humans hadn't evolved the concept of gender, so that all humans were just considered the same sex and gender with diverse variables?
  12. Rules: Someone posts a 'What if..?' question. Anyone who wishes to attempt a convincing or amusing answer gets to post the next 'What if..?' question at the end of their answer. Ideally, just one respondent gets to push the thread onwards for each question. That may or may not happen, and derail conversations involving alternative responses may ensue and that may or may not be better than following rules. I don't actually care. I'm just doing this for attention xx I'll start us off: What would happen if everyone stopped pretending to be normal at the same time?
  13. What's all this accidental nonsense? Scylla?
  14. Thinking I might have survived January. This is going to be a *****ing year.
  15. My unpopular opinion: this thread is never going to get locked..
  16. Cheeky. How I'm feeling, that is. Just cheeky. And polite.
