  1. Been a while since I've been to these forums. Been really busy at work (which is where I mostly browse these forums.) Going to spam a few.
  2. Firestorm Viewer should have an option to always rezz under the landgroup is possible. That way you never rezz items not belonging to the land group.
  3. I know that I rent my place at Azure, and those have rules against breedables. No more than five breedables per plot, which is 4 plots in my region. That will keep breedable lagfest to a minimum.
  4. Has land been only set to group, or has it also been deeded to the group? I can't check right now, as I do not have access to SL where I am now, but there is a difference between them. When the land is set to group, you will still be listed as owner of the land. When the land is deeded to the group, the group will be listed as owner of the land. When you are still owner of the land, group settings have no effect on the land. They will only take effect when the group is owner of the land.
  5. You've got a belleza body or is there another body that has the shine on by default?
  6. Vanilla Bae - Lucky Boards (group membership required) Moda - Lucky chairs
  7. Welcome back to SL! I hope you will find plenty of new friends, but along the criteria you mentioned so far, I probably wouldn't be a good friend, as I have no interest in anime, and I mostly find kpop annoying. But best of luck to find other people who do like it!
  8. I'm not saying that is exactly in the law, but I am just saying that the EU would have the power to do so.
  9. They do have to. They handle European data, so they have to comply or face sanctions. And really, this law is made much bigger than it is, most of the rules in the law were in place already. The new things in the law are mainly contingency plans for when a data leak occurs, Being able to explain why they keep the data on file. And needing explicit permission to store data. Basically all the SL Residents will notice is a new line in ToS, nothing more.
  10. They would have to comply with the laws that protect this data, yes. Whether they do, is something else. Whether someone whose data is on a sever in N.Korea would complain is something else. But in principle they still have to comply, because it's European data. If they do not want to comply, they should block European data, as by accepting European data they accept the responsibility of having to comply. It's the same as when you decide not to accept ToS. of Secondlife. If you click no at the bottom of ToS you cannot get into Second Life. If you click yes, and decide not to comply and break ToS, you will have to face the concequences. In the Netherlands the court ordered all Dutch ISP to block the Pirate Bay. If something is possible just in the Netherlands, I would imagine it's certainly possible in the EU.
  11. I know of at least two MMORPG servers that will delete all EU players data on May 25th, and block European access. Facebook is migrating all of their African, Asian, and other non European profiles away from their data center in Ireland, to avoid having to comply on GDPR on that data. The law applies to Foreign data on European servers, as well as European data on Foreign servers. And LL might not operate directly in the EU jurisdiction, but the EU does have the power to order SecondLife to be blocked by all European Internet providers, effectively punishing LL by taking away a sizable amount of their revenue. Same as other companies, The EU has the power to place trade sanctions. So while they may not have direct jurisdiction, the EU does have sufficient power to punish companies not in compliance to GDPR. And the organisation does operate directly in the EU jurisdiction when they save banking details from European citizens. It has nothing to do with whether the person has given the data willingly or not. The law is to prevent misuse.
  12. You are not seeing the point here. The fact at hand why this is something LL has to comply to, is that LL is handling EU Data, which falls under EU laws. Digital property does not stop at borders. The fact that they are in the US does not change that fact. If LL wants to handle EU Data, LL needs to adhere to EU laws about data, simple as that. If LL does not comply to the EU law about that, LL is not allowed to handle EU data. Whether you give the data to them willingly does not even matter in this case. Because of this law you as a EU citizen (for now at least), can request a transcript of the data LL has on you, and you can request to be erased completely from their systems.
  13. That is only partially true. In the digital age, you are the owner of your personal data. which means that if a US company misuses your data, you are eligible to sue them. IN RGPD, the EU represents all EU citizens in protecting their data. So yes, personal data of EU citizens is a perfect example of European Jurisdiction. The same would go the other way if the US would create some personal data protection plan. So in this case, LL is using European data, so they have to abide to European laws.
  14. Actually the DO need to comply, because it covers European Data, even is store on other servers. If they do not comply they are not allowed to save any data on European customers. Companies like Facebook, Google, Amazon are changing their privacy policies because they have to, but you think Linden Lab is big enough they do not have to? The only way LL does not have to comply, is when they completely shut down all access to Secondlife for EU citizens. Other than that, It's European Data so European Jurisdiction.
  15. Originally since somewhere in the middle of 2008, after a break of a year and a half, I returned 8 months ago.
  16. Hey Orwar, I'd love to work with you. I'm fairly new on this avatar, but on my previous avatar I have been a certified model for both print and runway modeling. Dutchy here so also a timezone match. Not inworld as much lately, but I'm sure we can work out times to meet. Except for the period of April 26th to May 4th, during which I will be offline, due to holiday. You can find my Flickr and Blog links in my inworld profile.

  18. I like that one... I have groups spaces free, but that doesn't mean I should use them if not needed.
  19. That still means the Brits can't join! They've always stubbornly kept their pound! But this also mean Norwegians and Danes and more countries cannot join. Nah, I'm pulling your leg.

  23. I've murdered my linden balance at Shoetopia last night, will see if I can post some pics tonight. Funnily enough I didn't have too much issues getting in, but it was the busiest sim I have ever seen with 110 people on sim.
