my avatar doesn't look completely like me but there are similarities like body type, height, make up etc. I've never needed to have the avatar as sl-only character. It is, as Rhonda said, kind of stylized version of me. But the resemblance is not strong.

Friday mood

My experience with the negativity around SL is that many people do not understand what a virtual world is and what are the possibilities. I have noticed many comments like "Is it a game" or "ok so if this is not a game, what do you actually do there", "don't you have a real life to take care of", "meeting people online is not real" and so on, meaning if this is not a game and there is no end-game or any other achievement, then it is pointless and a waste of time. Also that it is a place for all these extremenly shy geeky neerdy frustrated-with-RL people who can't manage simple relationships in reality and "normal people" don't need to go there because "normal people" have "normal lives". The other part of that is a bunch of really frustrated idiots who assume they are free to do anything meaning insulting others, griefing, trolling because it is online and it doesn't count. They are anonymous and can do anything. This is unfortunately partially true and many of them continue unpunished which really affects the reputation of SL community.

although there is never too much snow, I have decided to find also a summer house. And I might be even looking for a room mate.

Unfortunately I have no pictures of my first avatar from 2007, and when I log in to that account, she appears as red cloud. But when I started this one, I improved starting avatar a little bit, I was not yet aware of mesh world and all improvements. Later I turned into mesh, going first for maitreya body and later for lelutka non bento and finally bento head.

I came back almost 2 years ago after many years away from SL, but with a new avatar (mostly because I forgot login and password to old one). A lot has changed and from one hand I like current SL much more (the quality of creations, avatars, availability of many things) but from the other hand... not so much and that's mostly because of people around. Depends what you really expect from SL now. You can always give it a try and log in, as Alwin said.

first - the same! I am so disappointed that LL removed last names and introduced a login name with Resident. And what it worse, it was completely unexpected, because when you create new account, it says " You will use your username to login, so don't forget it. ". I assumed that it was ONLY login and I'd be allowed to select my first and last name later so I put this meaningless name there. And now I am stuck with that. Second - also the same. People using a lot of unicode characters, especially when these don't belong in the name and in gestures or whatever it is called. Honestly, when I see main chat spammed with some crazy characters, I want to run away from a place like this. And third - people in general. Their behavior. More or less what Talli said when created the thread about desperate people.

i remove all except Maitreya because I am sure I will not switch to any other body. I dont spend so much time in SL to play with several body brands and I am pretty happy with what I have now. Only keeping unpacked copies of favorite things. This way I end up around 7 k inventory items

I doubt it would be fun for these who don't want to spend money on SL. Unless there is free food, but I doubt it

thanks! Well the creator seems to be skilled, I have couple of buildings made by the same person and there is no problem like that. Also the building seems to be not THAT old (I think it was a 2016 event gacha item) so maybe it is just a mistake / accident. Anyway thank you for solution.

Sometimes it happens that I have a strange issue when rezzing items in my house on the land I own. It happens only in one of the rooms, when I try to rezz something, I get the message that the owner of the land doesn't allow that (but I am the owner). But in the other room and outside of the house it works perfectly fine, no message, no issue. Does anyone know what may cause that one room is cursed and doesn't let me rezz anything inside? Can I fix that somehow?

as far as I know, there are also some parcels with double prims allowance (City Bay?) so you can have 512 but with prims as if it was 1024. But these are rather expensive.

I talked with szylwia in world and found out that she WILL BE 18 next month so maybe that will solve the issue in October
