I think the Mentor thing probably never been bought back. It failed before and it's bound to happen again. As for some residents coming to the Welcome Hub, some were doing that before the Mentor was bought back.

Maybe the Lab will see the Mentor system is not working as intended and put it out to pasture. Or at least tell the Mentors if a non-Mentor is trying to help --- let it be. We all need to work together to keep people interested in SL and not drop off after the onboarding process.

She's helped in welcome areas before the Mentor program was restored. But there's some other underlying things she's concerned about SL and think is looking for an excuse to exit. As for the Mentor they could've been more gentle in his reply I think. I used to help sometimes --- but it was when I was running a club and sometimes I'd see a zero-day toon land. One told me he got there from a random TP or something. Someone told me SL would dump new toons at clubs, but don't know how true is that.

Someone told me she went to check the new welcome area and was helping a new person. She got a PM from a couple Mentors to lay off. She PMed back only trying to help. One Mentor got pissed off and told her to leave. My friend did lodge a ticket explaining what happened and explain she didn't want to be in the Mentor program due to the commitments but just pop in now and then. Now she is thinking heck with them and maybe bail from SL.

We could always derail the thread and get it closed up! Anyhoo, there should be a separate section of the mboard for survey and research stuff relating to SL and the Lab.

I had a few patrons come into my RL bar and ask "Are you on Threads?" I respond by telling them we're not on any Zuck related service and avoid Meta like a bad burrito.

I think there would be a mass exodus from SL. I know I'd delete my account and jump the boat --- and just think of the memories.....especially the times when our characters had legs!

Be nice to have flash floods and huge storm surges!

If anything is a Meta product --- it needs to be taken out back and shot. Threads needs to be threaded into the dirt!

Someone at my RL bar showed me a survey on his phone what was from Meta. It asked about that devices used to access Fakebook and another question asked if he would stay should it go mobile only. So far I've seen a few websites go mobile --- including a pharmacy's ordering system up here.

He could offer cash money in hand for Linden Lab and really hose it. "We now allow up 30 minutes a week to go in world, additional time is $3.98 per minute. Welcome to the new SL!"

I avoid socials like the plague. I did Discord for a bit, but found it annoying as the publisher keeps up-selling their Nitro crap. Closest is mboards like here and many others I'm on. I watched the Lab Gab replay and they mentioned they don't scoop up data like Fakebook does. About shops, etc in world that might be a different story.

I wish some outfit other then Meta made the Twitter killer. I trust Meta as far I can throw the Transamerica Pyramid in San Francisco.

I think they're going for a younger user base that has disposable income that they can spend on the game. I watched the replay of the Lab Gab thing and that's the impression I get.

Couldn't the regions be merged into very large ones like used in game type MMOs? You think in this day and age the region crossing issues be solved. As for the thread's title --- some "games" had quit threads on their board as soon the game was released.

I don't even do mobile. SL would be hard to do on a flip phone! I'm probably one of 11 people on the planet that don't use a smart phone.

I also see some legal issues on the Mentor thing unless they're paid or something. Due to the way many governments getting their hands into the internetz many other MMOs or games have pulled the plug on volunteers that were helping in the games from keeping watch on chats or muting gold sellers. I hate the GUI on the official client with a passion. I gotten used to the original version it had in the beginning since it was simple and not broken --- now it's convoluted and hard to work around in. Why many people use 3rd party clients.

I hate when people fire off effects that cover the whole screen. Some of us get seizures from that crap.

I watched the rerun on Youtube --- was good! Expecially Ober's multiple hats, which sounded like my many hats I wear for my RL business.

Someone told me they wouldn't mind having the same last name of their older "spouse" in world --- but I don't see that happening either.

In the past I somehow landed in one and got a PM from a Linden a few moments later I was in a staff-only area. I told him there must be a glitch and I'd TP out. I told my Linden friend and he said sometimes using Singularity glitches the map. This was long ago shortly Sing stopped updating their client. Anyhoo I need to log in soon to get some shopping in.

Nope --- the circles is on the Map itself. Clicking on it does nada. Like the region don't exist, but it's showing on the map.

Some of the sims gave a spinning blue circle like it doesn't exist. Was able to hit others.
