  2. can think about updating the list in the sensor event example: list gCurrent;sensor(integer detected){ integer t = llGetUnixTime(); // all detected avatars will have the same time do { --detected; key k = llDetectedKey(detected); integer i = llListFindList(gCurrent, [k]); if (~i) // is in current list so update time gCurrent = llListReplaceList(gCurrent, [t], i+1, i+1); else // not in current list so add new gCurrent += [k, t]; } while (detected);} eta: correct listreplace i really do have to stop writing codes off the top of my head (:

Then the company turned it around and put it up for sale at 3X the auction sale price. I was extremely disappointed. the auctions for these sought-after kinds of parcels always go like this. Some real estate agents monitor the auctions constantly. See what interest is in what. When they see bidding which indicates strong interest in a parcel then they swoop in the last seconds before the auction closes. as you witnessed if are wanting to buy at auction a sought-after parcel then dont bid on it at all. Dont show your interest. Work out what is your best price then place the bid in the last few seconds yourself. You might not get it bc somebody else is doing the same thing at a higher price, but gives you the best chance to win the auction

Dumb question, but how do I know where one sim stops and another sim starts? at top of you screen you can see sim name /coordinates/parcel name and you can see also names on the map, a sim is the square you'r standing in. i just add to what Alwin said goto menu: World \ Show, and enable Boundary Lines. Will show the parcel boundaries, in red or green single lines. Sim boundaries are double red lines

This is just a thinly disguised continuation of his ongoing crusade to justify himself after being criticized for leaving scathing reviews on freebies. He did? Why would anyone do that on things that are free? Reading his post, it did occur to me that a website of reviews on particulary good freebies would be a useful thing. As I read his post, I thought that might be what he's leading up to, but it wasn't. Then I thought that such a website probably exists. I do remember a blog that specialised in freebies, but that's not the same thing at all, unless it's designed in a particularly suitable way. all of the major groups inworld have blogs. They are invaluable. The biggest inworld group has over 20,000 active members. That is people who log in at least weekly, if not every day the groups are all about everything. Who has new gifts out. Whats on MMs, whats on the chairs. What specials are out. Who is having a sale. What fairs are open, what hunts are on. Where can I find this or that. What mesh do ppl recommend I should buy, etc etc i get about 200 notices every day now from shopkeepers who post thru the groups I am in the No.1 rule in the groups is: Dont complain about stuff that you got for free. If you dont like it then delete it. Whining and moaning about stuff that someone gave you out of the goodness of their heart, is the surest way to get banhammered from the groups a thing about these groups is that most people do have actual money, and they spend it, heaps and heaps. Hunting, hitting boards, waiting for chairs, going to the fairs and sales is a activity. We do it bc we like shopping, and have fun while we do and we gets heaps of stuff as well. Lots of it we dont keep either. I have gotten heaps and heaps and heaps of stuff. I only got about 6K in my inventory tho + other thing the last advice we ever want to give to a new person is to tell them is ok to complain about free stuff. Is the fastest way for them to end up with zero friends, and get banhammered from more places and groups than any other way it has nothing to do with 'rights' or 'free speech' or stuff like that. It has everything to do with being gracious

  7. add more entity, I dont think you have any idea at all about dumpster diving i suggest you join a few of the larger freebie groups inworld. Bring your whines about what we get for free to the group chats and see how you get [on] every dumpster diver in the groups will bite your head off, as we do anyone else who baws and whines about what they got free eta [on]

  9. entity0x wrote: You either agree or disagree that merchants should have access to ban button, so they can ban whoever they want 'for any reason', and explain WHY you hold that position ... the rationale for a host allowing their users to block each other is a resource issue. The host doesnt have sufficient affordable resources to adjudicate every issue between users the ability to block isnt allowed for any reason at all. Is allowed for no reason at all + if we blocked for any reason then it opens up adjudication as a thing to address. Should the host adjudicate ? How much resource needs to be put into this ? How much can the users be expected to pay for this ? Is the reason of sufficient concern to warrant a block ? Should the block be permanent, or should it be time-limited based on the severity of the reason ? etc when we are allowed to block for no reason at all, then is nothing to adjudicate. There is no reason for the blocking subjectively unpleasant person: why did you block me ? merchant: I just did subjectively unpleasant person: but why ? merchant: no reason, I just did subjectively unpleasant person: that so sux for me merchant: not for me it doesnt + allowing blocking for no reason, by a host without the resources to provide a full adjudication system, is the simplist way to allow their users to control their own experience within the host-provided experience

  11. yes. I am generally supportive of a MP banhammer i take Sassy's point earlier made. It is still the merchants shop. Regardless of how much the merchant may or may not pay the landlord for it in fees or rentals, including 0 fees/rents
  12. just a suggestion on how this is coded LSL always evaluates every condition in a IF statement. Unlike other languages which exit the IF on the first condition that is false can gain some runtime efficiencies by removing from complex IF evaluations as many API calls ( llGetOwner() and llSameGroup() ) and logic decisions (idx < 0) as is possible example: integer c1 = (integer)( idx < 0 ); for (i = 0; i < n; i++){ id = llDetectedKey(i); integer c2 = (integer)( id != llGetOwner() ); integer c3 = (integer)( llSameGroup(id) == FALSE ); if ... ( (ignorelevel == 6) && (c1 || c3) ) ... ( (ignorelevel == 3) && (c1 || c2 || c3) ) ... eta ps i agree with Rolig also. Should be able to code this in one pass altho can understand that you maybe likely just working on the logic of your script at this time. With optimisations to follow once the logics all been worked out

It can be shown to be otherwise more benefit, in terms of the savings in costs of time and resources, and in the time/resources saved then spent on developing new products and fostering relationships with subjectively pleasant customers, can be obtained simply by not doing business with subjectively unpleasant people basically your supposition is a appeal to a higher authority which is non-existant
  14. is a number of things that make it difficult the main culprit is FPS. When you see the boing boing, is bc the screen FPS is running slower than the physics FPS. [Not all the time, just sometimes depending on what else is happening] Like physics goes: move to points A, B C B A. Screen is running slower so only paints A C A. It doesnt paint the intermediate point B. So boing boing a way to ameliorate this is to slow the breast physics down. By adding Mass in Advanced Parameters, apply lots of Damping, and make the Gain higher than the Spring + i am Standard Sizing S avatar. I also have a 660GTX graphics card what I worked out for me is: Advanced Parameters: Breast Mass: 50. Gravity and Drag: 0 Breast Bounce, Breast Cleavage and Breast Sway: Spring: 50. Gain: 60. Damping: 80 then set the Max Effects of Bounce, Cleavage and Sway as you prefer. I have mine: Bounce: 20. Cleavage: 10 and Sway: 5 you will notice how the breasts will not appear to boing boing as much. They are heavier so move slower (Mass) and they settle faster (Gain is higher than Spring) and the high Damping shortens the time they are moving is still some boing boing when changing animations but is nothing much can be done about that, which I can work out eta: [not all the time ...]

  17. is a pretty interesting interview with Mark Zuckerberg in which he gives his views about where Facebook is going over the next 10 years it covers quite a lot of the subjects you raised Qie. About what FB are doing in areas like hi-speed data, VR, AR and AI is here on the Verge: http://www.theverge.com/a/mark-zuckerberg-future-of-facebook + the interestings for me is that Mr Zuckerberg thinks that VR is easier to do than AR. So he says that FB will do VR first before AR, while working on AI in parallel. That also for VR/AR/AI to work effectively then hi-speed data is critical. So is interesting to see how much they are pouring into pure research interesting also is his observation that the ownership of the hi-speed data transfer systems is not something that he sees as necessarily something that FB does itself. Is more important to him (and FB) that there are hi-speed systems, and that everyone in the world can connect to the internets at the lowest possible price to them the customer Mr Zuckerberg also floats the thought that FB may just end up opensourcing their research when their scientists/engineers have shown some viability for the subjects of their research. Given that FB is about content, and not data transfer/movement as such in itself
  18. with all the table talk in the chocolate game then is all about trying to put people off when they deciding which cards to discard is lots of bribery. Like: if you discard that card and not that one then when I win I will give you 3 chocolates and threats. Like. Can try to beat me, which will never happen like ever bc you not gunna get the card like ever, and when you lose which you will, then you will get nothing ever off me ever again in your whole life ever !!! and sobs. if you dont discard those cards and you beat me, bc you just being mean to me, then I am going to cry. And my heart will be broken like forever, and will be your fault, and everybody will know and say that is your fault. And you will go to hell as well ! And until then Father Xmas will know that you just being mean for no reason at all, and Father Xmas wont give you any Xmas presents like ever either !!! and bc they are like 9yo they go: i like it when you cry. And you go: You little monster ! And they go: I know. I am the monster that is gunna eat all your chocolates and you go: Whose family you in to teach you to be such a horrible little person ? And they go: yours! And then everybody cracks up laughing (:
  19. from what I read in the release notes, looks like LL came up with a more efficient way to render oldschool invisprims (something about pre-loading it said) with the mesh thingy you mentioning thats still happening. I got some mesh hair that does that against the ocean water, and against other textures that contain a transparency layer, even if that layer is not visible is something to do with 1-bit transparency I think. Dunno exactly. Maybe a texture maker can explain it better than me
  20. the latest info, discussion and feedbacks on Bento is in this post thread: https://community.secondlife.com/t5/Building-and-Texturing-Forum/Project-Bento-Feedback-Thread/m-p/3048570#M15542 + short answer Bento is at the Project Viewer stage. Wont be long now, August maybe I think
  21. Phil Deakins wrote: Nevertheless, the actual game is simply the deal and then the highest hand. It can be played without the betting. It would be a dull game, but it can be played that way. ii can be a whole lot of fun. Show poker we play show poker at Xmas. Even the littlies can play. We call it the chocolate game. Can be heaps of people playing at the same time, like 20 or more sometimes how we play is 1) Any number of people can play. When is not enough cards for everybody then add decks and shuffle as one. 5 of a kind is highest, and then normal poker ranks after that 2) Everybody has to put a chocolate in the middle 3) The cards are dealt face up to everyone. (which is how the littles can play, bc can show them how to play everything being face up) 4) Then each player can discard as many as they want and draw new cards the fun is when dealing the new draw cards. bc the cards come face up like everybody goes: dont give them that card. dont!!! dont !!!. and the person goes: give it !! give it!!! and they get it. and everybody goes: nooooo!!! and the person goes: yay woohoo!! I am gunna win all the chocolates and then the next person gets dealt their draw cards and it starts all over again. gimmme it !! noooo! dont give it !! omg you gave it ! ahhh! nooo! u never gave it !!! i am going to just lie on the floor and die right now ok (: rule 5) this the best rule. You discard when is your turn to play. What you discard depends on what hand is already showing as the hand to beat it gets pretty exciting the way we play. Table talk is totally encouraged. Like everybody is also giving plenty of advice about what cards each person should discard is heaps of fun (:
  22. Rhonda Huntress wrote: Invisiprims are dead now. It was a glitch they left for years anyway but they were finally "fixed" not log ago is some good news about invisiprims in the latest release viewer LL have re-fixed invisiprims. Invisiprims work again now. I havent tested it myself yet, but am sure the boat people will be pretty happy to get the water out of their hulls again http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Release_Notes/Second_Life_Release/4.0.7.317689
  23. is just one of the things that nothing can be done to prevent it, the way SL is currently built is a way to recode how SL handles UUIDs, I just dunno if LL have given it any resource attention yet. I think they maybe thought about it already tho, given the CDN hole that Whirly has mentioned, which is a newish thing

Ilithios Liebknecht wrote: That would be a bad bet for me to make since even a child figures out very quickly how to make every game a draw. :-) Noughts and crosses, of course, does not have a chance component, so that game you outlined would actually fall within the definition of the "skill gaming" policy ... yes correct what everybody who plays skill games in SL (and everywhere else these skill games are offered) mostly only ever sees is the $100 for $1. Or $50 for $1, Or $500 for $1. Or $1000 for $1. Or $10,000 even. And sometimes the house player (a scripted bot), will give the contestant a big number of $ for beating them, by letting the player beat them. With whole bunches of lesser numbers mixed in. Like $2, $3, $5, etc
  25. i am just going add this here + i give you a proposition which is not a game of chance we play "noughts and crosses" which also sometimes called tic-tac-toe you pay $1 to play each game. If you dont beat me then I keep your $1. If you do beat me then I give you $100 and I will let you always have first move
