  1. You are adorable! So much fun meeting all of you inworld!
  2. Impromptu PaRtY 💃🕺 Dancing in Second Life... a cheery Welcome to Second Life in the Social Plaza at WelcomeHUB
  3. Those vehicles might be using the YavaScript Pod Guided Tour system. The system is available on Marketplace in Yavanna Llanfair's Marketplace Store. I love those pod vehicles whizzing around Mainland and that the vehicles change when the terrain changes. This is a video of a boat tour on Protected Water using the YavaScripts. Have fun scripting tours. They are a nice way to explore Mainland 🥰
  4. This one turned out so well I'd better get some more nail polish and a tiny camera tripod for some nail modelling!
  5. Dance Party in the Social Plaza at WelcomeHUB ! Great dances in Abnor's Dancefloor
  6. Every Friday, somewhere in Bellisseria its FARday ParTy! ♥♪ this week is BelliHUB Party Beach!
  7. They are from JIAN 🥰 One is a Pibble and one is a water Spaniel I think 😍
  8. @Persephone Emerald I don't know what IMVU avatars look like, so I googled IMVU Starter Avatar images and they reminded a lot of the 1970s big-eyed kids paintings by Margaret Keane... This can't be what you mean !?? (I'm sure somehow this is google's fault?)
  9. We're Senra'd and I'm very impressed with the beautiful hands and feet! The clothing is ideal, nicely made and comes with lots to choose from. I'd like to have some BOM layers included in the folder, underclothes and socks/stockings and getting the mouth to look nice smiling... took quite a lot of tweaking. Well done, Lindens and all the Creators who collaborated to make the new Residents look great and feel great. 🥰 Several new Residents at WelcomeHUB have said they like them and like the way their new avatar looks 💝
  10. And the Cat jumped over the moon... Spotted the Bellisseria Cat in the sky over the WelcomeHUB
  11. Fridays Noon to 2 PM SLT... somewhere in Bellisseria the FARiday Party! ♥♫
  12. https://secondlife.com/destinations/shopping-events Fandom Con is a Shopping Event in the Destinations. It's in the Shopping Events and Recently Added categories 🤩 I wonder if there is a way to get a Notification when a Destination gets added?
  13. 1. Destination Guide is one of my favourite recommendations to all. New ones open up often, many are Newcomer Friendly and many offer some nice gifts/souvenirs. 2. Passport Stamp-collecting activity is interesting and free and can be done alone or in a group. Going through the process at the Bellisseria Bureau of Bureaucracy has made me LOL when I encounter some RL bureaucracy 😁 3. Try some wearable vehicles and visit whatever piques interest on the Second Life Geography page of the Knowledge Base https://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Second_Life_Geography I run out of time every day in SL long before I can finish my ever-growing ToDo List 🥰
  14. Based on my own experience as a new Resident in 2015, I don't think an upfront gift of L$ is a good precedent. I do think gifts are a nice idea but perhaps directing them to the New User Shopping Tutorial first would be best... I feel it may be better to ask them what they are looking for and show them how to find it at a fair price or as a gift. I think this is more empowering - the gift of a few minutes of your time and kindness may do more toward retention. I think there's also Mentors who help with further steps past the initial Welcome, once newcomers know the basics and have some idea what they'd like to do next. 🙂
  15. Second Life isn't a game. If the users you call customers arrive expecting a game... they probably will be disappointed, but perhaps they will return and ask a few questions and discover SL is more than their limited expectations. If new Residents want to create a game or practice socializing in another language or market 3D mesh they have already made or any number of infinite possibilities they are probably in the right place. If they do have questions about how to do most anything, they have the opportunity to ask a real live person. 🥰 Mentors also are a deterrent to misbehavior 😉
  16. From what I understand, Experiences are a tool to allow persistent permission consistently until revoked, in order to allow a more immersive environment without permission request nags. The Creator of an Experience is responsible for its description and scope. Here's a link to the LSL portal https://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Category:Experience_Tools and the Knowledge Base which has a great video (under 4 minutes) about Experiences and shows the Cornfield Experience 😃 As an example, my partner created a General rated Experience to allow seamless teleports, sometimes triggering a teleport scripted to activate on collision with an object like walking through a door or a tunnel and instantly (relatively) arriving in another location and sometimes the activation of the teleport requires an object or a face of an object to be touched to trigger the effect. A General rated Experience won't allow permission for activity requiring higher level permissions.
  17. We use secondlife:///app/experience/bfe25fb4-222c-11e5-85a2-fa4c4ccaa202/profile (AVsitter by Code Violet) for props to auto-attach and detach without asking permission over and over and secondlife:///app/experience/96bdaa76-6a05-11e7-810a-fa4c4ceccb2f/profile (Experience caroline Planer) for the No59 drinks to automatically be sipped, and detach when finished and a few others I can't recall without being right there to look ;-D Great topic, by the way! YAY!
  18. Enjoying our Lazy Sunday with friends listening to Hippie Bowman ♪ perform at the Tea Garden on the South Coast of Corsica on Mainland https://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Laserlight/78/64/65
  19. I think of everyone who speaks to me as a Resident (a person behind that avatar) in some form. 🙂 (Although AI is advancing rapidly 😉)
  20. I'm not there for any purpose except my pleasure in socializing while I have coffee and begin my day in Second Life. I find it interesting to chat with new Residents as well as longer time Residents. I love statistics so it comes naturally to me to be interested in them, but not interested enough to actually record them 😉 I was asked to estimate... ...so I did and added a screenshot after I made my estimate in the form of a thoughtful guess. I don't think I was doing anything dangerous... unless I misunderstood the request? It makes no difference to me personally if any Resident is an Alt or a returning Resident. If a person asks me for something I can comfortably provide, I will generally do so because I enjoy feeling I contributed to a good experience 🥰
  21. I'm not sure, but when I've been there I'd guess about one third to one half of all the newer Residents present are more than 0 days old and less than 200 days old ♥ From my People window...
  22. I remember the ones who speak to me or ask me questions. ♥ I've not spoken to any who endured a difficult or bad experience so I feel the ones I've had the privilege to chat with have had a positive experience and the Mentors seem to enjoy what they are volunteering to do for the most part. Personally, I don't think I could do it so I do admire those who take it on. I'm not there to record statistics and we don't stay there long enough or regularly enough to even try to do such a thing... and Second Life has been here for twenty years, doing what they do (which is their business). I've been here for 8 years, doing what I do (which is my pleasure). I think if you really want to know those figures for some purpose which would be helpful to Second Life you could probably just ask a Linden and they will give you an honest answer. Even if that answer is none of your business they will tell you so respectfully and kindly. I've found them all pleasant, honest and professional people who really love their jobs and do their best to make Second Life the best place they're able to. I encourage them to keep on listening, learning, improving and growing. I'm certain they'll let us know if they need any of our help, as they did when they asked for Mentors. ♥
