New Feature: Scripted Agent Estate Access Discussion
Love Zhaoying replied to Linden Lab's topic in General Discussion Forum
So..either the topic has driven us.."botty" (aka "batty"), or perhaps the entire Tilia discussion is off-topic? How did we get here? I am guessing, deny bots => privacy => TOC / T&C => Tilia -

There was a TV show "Northern Exposure" in which (as I recall) the characters were going to fling a cow, but decided to fling an old piano instead. -

Any obvious reason why the dialog is always in the upper right corner of my (official) viewer, instead of being centered? The only thing I thought of was, possibly due to a small amount of text. Relevant point being, I would not expect a dialog in that location to be "official". Luckily, LSL didn't give us "application modal" dialogs. -

That's interesting. I obviously didn't try those features in my last LH's. (I always use the "GUI" access list dialogs on my mainland parcels, however.) -

Really? Where do you see that "so few scripts use llTextBox now"? I haven't noticed any such trend. Sorry, perhaps I should have said something more accurately such as, "I do not purchase or review a lot of scripts created by other people. However, with my limited exposure to other people's scripts, I have not seen a lot of the llTextBox() style input dialogs." I hope that answer is more accurate, as it reflects better that I am trying to state my own experience based on very limited observations. -

Yes, I understood your point. I was just trying to settle in my own mind, while agreeing with you, that my own only interaction with Tillia may have been if / when they asked me to accept some T&C. (I do not cash out, so that area does not apply to me.) -

Remind me, we did have to accept Tillia T&C when it first onboarded, didn't we? -

I happened to try the standard llTextBox() input dialog recently for the first time since 2008 or so, on the official viewer. I was surprised the dialog showed unobtrusively in the upper-right corner of the screen. Anyway, whether or not this still applies, I recall that at one time Firestorm had the "LSL Bridge" attachment. If that "attachment" was still "a thing", I wonder if a script could detect that another avatar had the LSL Bridge "attached", and target the message for those users so they'd think it was a "real" message? Forget the fact that the input box has "clear text" for input, but is asking for a password. Forget the fact that the dialog is not official in any way or a special color. I guess my theory is, so few scripts use llTextBox() now, that some users may be fooled by it. -

Agreed, that will annoy more people, and their ilks, and cause flareups of their ills. (Hope they don't have sensitive elks. But, whatever irks.) IJS, ffs.

Not quite as mind-numbing as the similar information for Tilia. -

Recent poster said (paraphrasing) LL can do whatever they want with our data. While the TOS / TOC may not have a specific clause, I certainly hope LL would "never sell our data". -
I hope that's not your sincere wish, because now that I posted the Peeve here AND you explained it, the Peeve died a sad, lonely, ineffective death, starved of oxygen and attention.

Hmm..I would have guessed (based on other posts) that your changes made the listings "jump up" in search results because they appeared "new", having been modified! But, treating new section "like" a keywords section should help cancel out a lot of keyword Spam, too!
