Ya know, if we reroute this thread through every every derailing discussion topic then I think this thread would be a square knot! Dammit! You appear to have seen through my strategy for converting moron-fodder into intelligent multilogues.

  4. If this is a business question, then should not the thread be in the Commerce forum?
  5. No, I think the coding involved more than just one colour.
  6. KarenMichelle Lane wrote: LOL - I guess I could have posted that reaponse back in the SL Answers version of that Thread but the OP was so indignant about the answers he had received so far. Probably because the OP was a "she" .. .
  7. Darrius Gothly wrote: KarenMichelle Lane wrote: This is the happiest day of my life. Hmmm ... now I'm curious. Did the day involve: A dress? A Lottery ticket? An email? Or something else I hadn't considered yet? The one before I got married! Followed closely by the one the divorce came through. And in third place, the day a verdict of justifiable homicide was determined.

  12. Pratchett was the English equivalent of Piers Anthony in his later, churn-them-out, period (although Anthony was originally English but migrated) and his Discworld series must have been heavily influenced by Anthony's Xanth books, so if you have read the latter, you would probably enjoy the former. The principal difference between the two was that Anthony's puns were better; or worse, depending on how you looked at it. I hope Pratchett will be remembered as the man who refused to allow Alzheimer's to beat him, and whose legacy is likely to help others beat it.
  13. Muletta wrote: I am sorry, but I do not see why you need to react this way in a debate, so you need to call me this and that, and behave insulting... Please tell me, why this - my opinion - makes you offend me as a person? It is okay to disagree to the subject, but why do you need to evaluate me and the other participants persons in the discussion? Let's get one thing straight; I refuse to take any responsibility for you being offended - that is YOUR choice of response, and it is nothing to do with me. As far as insults are concerned, please point to me where I have called you "this and that" or said anything that is not factual, as far as can be determined from your posts.
  14. LL are running a pilot on advertising during teleporting. You must have been unlucky enough to be selected without being given the choice to opt out . . .
  15. Muletta wrote: I took the time to read a bit further than just the thread title... Yes, the thread quickly devolved into multiple posters repeating the same advice, which they had cut and pasted from the curriculum of the course on "What to do on the basis of little or no information other than hearsay, but adhering to ambiguous instructions from authority, so that you cover your posterior" which is a core subject in the University of the Bleeding Obvious. I don't necessarily take any op's statements at face value - particularly because of the widespread semi-literacy here, and not only from ESLers such as yourself - and attempt to identify possible motivations, falsehoods, and personal agenda. Challenging the op is one tactic that bears fruit much of the time, as in the recent thread in which a duplicitous farrago of semi-truths had been concocted regarding the behaviour of someone who had supposedly hijacked an avatar. This time, it turned out that the images were NOT child pornography at all, but of yiffing individuals of, by definition, indeterminate age and maturity. But the thread title was an invitation to the pearl-clutching ladies who lunch to express shock and horror. And it worked; from your previous forum participation you are one of those hyperemotional types, and you rose to the bait, adding nothing to what could have been a discussion, as did the majority of respondents who treated it as a thread which (rightly) should have been in Answers.
  16. There are reasons why people end up lonely. There are reasons why people end up alone. They are usually different reasons. [For more startling hyperemotional revelations buy my book: "Alone With You - A Contradiction Or A Cry For Help?"]
